The Every Brain Matters community educates about the health and environmental dangers of marijuana and the drug culture expansion by providing support for families and advocacy, all based on science, including lived experiences.
The public is being deceived regarding marijuana products and their effects, like cannabis use disorder, cannabis-induced psychosis, and cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome, which has led to a public health crisis. No matter how much the drug culture expands, we will “Keep On Keepin On” because we wholeheartedly know that Every Brain Matters.
We believe policy should be driven by science, and the best harm reduction is drug prevention.

We Have Our Son Back From Cannabis Psychosis
In this new era of industrialized cannabis, families need support and hope.
Mom and Dad O. are 60-something parents who came of age during the 1970s when cannabis use was no big deal. When their son began to use cannabis in his late teens during his early college years, they weren’t particularly concerned. But then they witnessed their kind-hearted, bright, outgoing, athletic son begin to develop odd behaviors that ultimately escalated into full-blown psychosis. This was around 2017, and there was very little information or support available for families struggling with a loved one suffering from Cannabis-Induced Psychosis (CIP). Frankly, they weren’t really sure if his psychotic behavior was entirely from cannabis, another drug use, or some organic disorder.
Mom and Dad O. state, "over the years, our son has been involuntarily hospitalized twice and admitted to multiple rehab facilities. Every facility claimed to have a means to treat CIP but really, they were at a loss as to what to do with him, especially the earlier ones. We witnessed our son spiral further and further into his delusional mindset. We mourned for him as we watched him turn into someone we didn’t recognize.
During this time, we became involved with a 12-step support group, Families Anonymous (FA). Our involvement with FA provided us with the tools and mindset to cope with this unpredictable emotional roller coaster. It also connected us with wonderful resources and even more wonderful people, many of whom are now dear friends. We still attend our meetings.
It has been two years since our son returned home from his last inpatient treatment program. At that time, he was the most clear-headed we had seen in years. His mental clarity has continued, and he is once again thoroughly engaged in society, our family, and his future. He is on no medication. His clarity is from simply NOT USING CANNABIS. We have our son back.

Elected officials are making political moves to downgrade marijuana from Schedule 1 to Schedule 3, expressing that marijuana is less harmful than previously thought. But today’s marijuana is more potent, which is exacerbating the risks. Marijuana is now more addictive, and the risk of developing psychosis or schizophrenia from using these more potent marijuana products is increasing. Resources:...

My little sister got marijuana induced psychosis from smoking dab. She went to a psychiatrist hospital because we were scared and didn’t know how to help her during her psychosis and paranoia she did not sleep for a week. At the mental hospital they put her on psych meds it’s been about a year and she’s doing better but still on psych meds. She’s not completely herslef and would like to get off but her psychiatrist seems to be forcing her to stay on telling her there’s no cure. She is on medical and this is the second psychiatrist she’s seen. Does anyone have a similar story where they took psych meds and recovered? Please help I am very worried about her I know these meds are detrimental to her health long term she is only 19yra old

Oh precious mama and daddy my 13-year-old grandson was given pot on the school bus and hit of acid and prior to that for six months had been smoking pot with kids …after the school bus incident. I noticed he was in full-blown psychosis and I rushed him to the hospital. Nothing was done to anyone. No one held accountable. He is now 17. He didn’t talk for three years. He was seeing things, and hearing things and laughing for no reason, most of the time he only had a blank stare. would not leave his bed 9 hospitals and 20 doctors.later he is now on clonzapine… but still catatonic! Our whole family is grieving. This has been the most horrifying situation for all of us.! Our precious boy has been robbed. He was in a student and in a flash went to straight zeros and catatonic. I pray every day our boy will come back to us the way he was before his life was basically taken.

I have learned with my son’s experience and after speaking with numerous doctors that it can take several years for the brain to heal from these chemically induced attacks. Please know I am aggressively praying for your grandson. I pray this is not permanent for him just as I do for my son. It is absolutely maddening to say it lightly what is happening with these products. Thank you for having the courage of sharing your journey here. You and your family are not alone. My soon to ex boyfriend is smoking every day from the morning to the bed all days for more than 20 years. He also did these DAP pens. He was constantly paranoid exhausted depressed and blamed me for everything. He was very verbally aggressive and provoked me all the time. I felt I was always on trail. He was also very paranoid. I don’t know if he has psychotic episodes but he has no insight. I can’t do anything for him and my heart is bleeding but I have to leave. He is almost 40 works nice job (still don’t know how with that much smoking) but behind closed doors he is cold blaming and even hallucinating things that me and other people never said. And he truly believes in them. I don’t know what to do already and can’t tell if he slips in psychosis? Please help me at least to understand.

Related to this superiority thing with THC vs other drugs, I found it quite interesting to learn that Pablo Escobar wasn't using Cocaine but rather Cannabis was his drug of choice. I guess, he was having a severe Cannabis induced psychosis to think he would rule the world by his violence and terror acts.
His weed wasn’t 95% and higher THC concentrations poison that is marketed as fun and safe as it is now
I truly believe she had suffered a drug induced psychotic episode but im really reallyyyyy tired of this narrative that "chad pushed her to take a second hit". She clearly stated in previous interviews that SHE followed chad out to accompany him while he smoked and ASKED for a hit. She then said she didn't really feel any affects so he provided her with more. That would be 99.99999% of us doing that with our friends. If my friend came out to smoke w me and said they didnt get high and sat there like they wanted more since that was their original intent coming outside, i would provide them with more. Thats just common sense. I believe Bryn had a horroric break induced by marijuana...and people can continue to say its harmless, and hey if it works well for you, fine i guess but drugs impact everyone differently and her break was verified by many top tier psychologists and experts. BUT to throw out this narrative that CHAD pushed her into taking abother hit when she really didnt want to is complete and utter BS. No one forced her or put a gun to her head. SHE followed him out to smoke and he of course provided more when she stated it had no effect.
Exactly, victim blaming at its finest. As any reasonable judge would say, did they put a gun to your head and force you?
Thank you for this video and for your time dedicated to the research and awareness of these dangers. Knowledge is power and everyone reacts differently to drugs.
My son has been going through this for almost 5 years! Not to say that this parents story is not horrible but I have been through this times 1 million!!!!

Man i would love to share my story and be a part of this community but i am still struggling with leaving cannabis behind completely. It has given me a lot throughout my life and also taken so very much from me. A very tough place to constantly live in. But i am proud to have finally broken my all day every day habit this past year after a post rehab relapse in 2016 led back to all day every day use and am now using “moderately” as they would say for almost the first time ever in my cannabis use experience. It was one of the biggest battles of my life to finally get through those withdrawals without relapsing at least until those symptoms had totally faded over the course of a month and a half. Before that the longest was a week before i tapped excluding the year and a half i was sober in rehab. I still get feelings often that the pain i go through sometimes during the use and sometimes during detox isn’t worth it but man my brain wants to think about the good times so much despite the canyon of pain and torture it has put me through. The true angel on one shoulder devil on the other. As someone who has been through a 12 step accredited rehab program successfully i appreciate this channel so much. You are not working with facts when you believe Bryn's story without proof - you are choosing to take the side of a murderer without evidence. I'd venture to guess 80-90 percent of my graduating high school class had pot in their systems when they got their diplomas - but not a one of them murdered anyone. Not one! The fact that you consider the woman who stabbed her boyfriend 108 times (and his dog) an equal victim to the man she stabbed 108 times proves to everyone you are biased, pushing. a personal anti-pot agenda, and completely out of touch with reality. I would not trust these "experts" on anything related to marijuana. They think everyone who commits a horrible act of violence should be able to say it was the marijuana that caused them do it, and avoid jail time. If it were up to the "doctors" on this channel, had Osama bin Laden blamed 911 on weed, he should not be held accountable. If Adolf Hitler had said weed made him exterminate 6 million innocent people, these "doctors" would say it wasn't Hitlers fault, it was the marijuana industry. If John Wayne Gacy said it was the California Cabbage that made him tie up and assault and kill those 20-30 boys in the 70s, and it were up to these "doctors" John Wayne Gary would be a free man. I wouldn't trust these quacks if my life depended on it.
@EveryBrainMatters Why do you keep deleting my comments? The "experts" were brought in by her defense lawyers after she posted $500,000.00 bond. CIP is a fake concept used by crooked doctors such as yourself to let rich white girls off the hook after they commit horrible acts of violence. When you say "we absolutely support Bryn's public education outreach", what you';re really saying is "we support violent criminals and first degree murderers who blame anything and everyone but themselves for their actions". You took a Hippocratic oath to protect the health and well being or your patients and society at large when you became a doctor. Yet, you're using your license to let cold blooded murderers off the hook, so more people can commit murder and get away with it. And yes, you DID make Bryn a spokesperson for EBM when you chose to inverview her, chose to spread it on social media, and chose to show more empathy for her than you do for the actual victim that she stabbed to death 108 times.
It’s really scary that licensed medical doctors are allowed to post misinformation like this and keep practicing. I feel so so so sorry for their patients.
The "doctors" in this video are such marijuana hating fanatics, they view a psychotic murderer a hero, instead of the murderer she is. They are every bit as professional are Matthew Perry's doctors, when one asked "How much do think this moron will pay", and the other said "We'll find out!" I feel sorry for their patients.
So many people have benefitted from this plant including patients who have been addicted to Opioids, patience struggling with Parkinson’s disease, and people struggling with physical pain. You’d rather people get addicted to pain killers which is infinitely harmful to your body. You’re an ignoramus
I dont need a police state to constantly try to criminalize it. I don't care what police think
This is horrific! I've never heard of the psychosis side of it but the stuff they're using nowdays is lethal, I have even read mens sperms is being affected in a bad way! I wouldn't touch the stuff personally!
California has hundreds of dispensaries stfu
Tell someone who cares...

Ignorance. Cannabis use is only a symptom of a more serious issue going inside the brain of the sufferer. They seek relief when the mental illness starts when they are late teens.

Cannabis should have never been illegal in the first place. What God has created and has said is very good how can man say it’s bad and not contradict Gods word? They can’t 😘
Good created cannabis that had only 4% thc
Obviously this idiot doesn’t realize as long as there are illegal states in this country there are going to be people to supply their needs. DUH !!
If you have ADD, very strong weed can be a problem.

Because they won't let everybody grow their own plant. The government wants all that cartel money going to them or else they just let everybody grow their own plant and there would be no more f****** problems.
