Welcome to Wills Wheels which is my channel where I review cars, motorbikes, Scooters, even bicycles! There is some tinkering done as well.
The channel will cover all forms of other transport that needs wheels to move or be moved around….although there are exceptions, garden and agricultural machinery.😁

Hey, pretty new to bikes, thinking of buying one of these...do you have to do much with the carbs, tuning ect?
@@SillyMonkeys I’ve never had to any carb work with mine, I don’t tend to touch the carbs on any bike unless it’s not running properly. But if you did buy an NTV that’s running rough then it’s not a major issue getting the carbs out and back in, a workshop manual is handy. Hope that helps.👍
Well done Will, good review. I love the bangernomics ones.
@@paulbrough3483 Thankyou, glad you liked it.👍
Nice one Will 😉👍
@@dantheman1858 Cheers matey.👍
It’s one thing taking a drive in a low mileage, or restored car, but you had to own one and live with the terrible build quality, the rust, the mechanical issues, the horse and cart technology and worst of all, realising you’d been suckered into buying a lemon. British Leyland didn’t go out of business because they made great cars. They went under because people stopped buying the junk they were producing. There are two schools of thought at play here. There’s people who succumb to the nostalgia produced by UA-camrs to build their channels and people who actually owned these hateful cars. It’s easy to forget the reality with your rosy specs on.
I have an '88 Honda Hawk 650 GT. There is clear lineage in design here.
Hey Will, There should also be a rubber ring in the middle of the air filter. However, this is missing on your old and new air filter. You can buy the rubber online.
I didn’t know about that, thanks Max!👍
deep pockets required but worth it Haldex expensive bremo expensive fuel comsumption road tax $$$ im looking at a 2 K timing change bill miles with smiles
Yeah, I've spent thousands on it, currently having issues with Haldex again although I'm not that bothered now, used to its problems. I've upgraded the disks and pads all round, had the calipers fully rebuilt and painted.
My favourite car was my old X reg Vauxhall Vectra.
Cheers for your comment mate, yes the first Vectras were good cars for their time.
Great motorcycle, I'm going to buy one. Thanks for the video. Good luck Will.
Thanks, yes they are a briliant bike, just bought a newer 700 model on the basis of the reliability of the NTV650, still got the 650 though, glad you liked the video.
just bought myself one a white 59 plate .. i have a vectra vxr running 315 bhp but this siggy is quicker and sounds awesome decatted !
Sounds awesome mate.👍 They are underrated cars in favour of German cars.
@@willswheels283Get yourself one while they are cheap 😎
Still no mot problems ?
She needed more spending than she was worth, one job was a welding repair quoted at £400 to repair, not to mention the other mechanical maladies with the drivetrain, the engine was the best bit! So she left the fleet and gone to other pastures.
Great video. Liked it, kind of hilarious in a nice way. But... Did i miss something? A NTV650 has 4 spark plugs, it is a twin spark.
Thanks for watching, yes I’d heard NTV’s had 4 spark plugs but I could only see 2, so I only replaced 2, I will investigate but I’m not sure if older ones like mine have 4 or 2 plugs, it’s my 1st NTV.
fantastic motorcycle, indestructible
Agreed, it’s been no trouble since I bought it over 2 years.
I have the regular insignia 😂 only thing good about it is the interior 🥱 would like a facelift model tho 2.0l cdti good looking motors those
Yes I like the interiors especially, but they look better than the vectra in my humble opinion.
Good service Will 👌
Cheers Dan! 👍😎
That is the best looking oil can ive seen!!
That’s because it’s brand new! Lol
I have a white one too. Super rare now..double decat and tune and pops n bangs beautifully with flames 🔥
Yes not many about these days, good cars just badge snobbery slowed down sales I think.
The Gary will be extinct in the 2050’s as a Christian name in the UK so they say. Great surname for a Vauxhall. Gerry Marshall was the bomb.
I’m after a 1.4 or 1.6 45 Hatch as my first car. I love the look of these, especially in Silver, Red, or British Racing Green
They do come up for sale on Facebook Marketplace and EBay, these are where I found my last 2 Rovers. 1.6 has more go than the 1.4, I found the 1.4 a bit underpowered.
Good review Will! 👏
🧙♂️
1:05 My channel features both 2 wheels and 4 wheels! Although the bike has taken a back seat this past year.
Yeah the channel primarily focuses on cars and motorcycles but basically anything that is used as transport and has wheels. (There are exceptions though lol like Farming and gardening machinery, you have to draw the line somewhere). Thanks for your comment.👍
@@willswheels283 Tbh, a little grey fergy suit any garden. 😂
@@SmashingPistons Hmm, As much as Grey Fergie’s are characterful and hard working farm vehicles I doubt many would use one as daily transport unless they were a desperate farmer and his Land Rover had broken down.
@@willswheels283 😂
Not to mention you need really really deep pockets for these things, but that being said,I wouldn’t get rid of mine.
What bits do you need deep pockets for ? Looking at one to replace my 3.0 Jag which has been really cheap
Tax is like 600 a year, fuel etc. Nothing too crazy imo.@@edkay272
Just took my vxr off the road for an underbody restoration, along with a haldex repair/service while it’s all ripped apart.wish me luck😀
My mate who owns the one in the video would definately agree with your comments, the word Haldex has created nightmares for him, he doesn’t use the VXR much in the winter, he has a little Citroen Xsara for his running around jobs. I’ve always liked the Insignia since GM launched it in the late 2000’s, they did a good and better design job over the Vectra, but that’s just my opinion and taste. Thanks for your comment.
I have a 2003 1.6 xsara and it’s fab! Proper workhorse. I have dogs and horses and it’s so reliable. Iv owned it 8 years and only had 47,000 miles on it when I first bought it. Absolutely love my xsara!
Yes they are good cars especially if properly looked after, comfortable and good to drive, thanks for your comment.👍
As an owner of a 2003 1.6 that (from wear of course) has been turned to shit, seeing a phase II one with the full front grille is a clear sign that the car has been taken very VERY good care of. Great review!
Thanks for your comment, yes the car is immaculate, it’s like new inside, the current owner does look after it, but it was pretty clean before he bought it.
Really was the start of the SUVs
What was the 0-60?
It was 6 seconds.
😊Ich habe 2 von diesen alten Dingern 😊eine für jeden Tag und eine zum Urlaubfahren 😊
And how do you like them ?
Absolut Problemfrei ☺ einmal Kupplung , einmal Wasserpumpe und einmal Benzinpumpe das war es nie liegengeblieben damit ☺ @@robbland6312
What was wrong with these cars? They suited our roads , they suited our way of life . Zebart them and we were flying
Are parts still available to get for this car if all goes wrong?
Hi. Parts are getting more and more harder to find especially if you're going to Vauxhall directly for new, I've had a few occasions where they say sorry not available now. There are a number of breakers that specialise in VXR's around and on FB groups etc, not sure if in the future more aftermarket parts will be available although you can get some aftermarket parts.
I have the Opel OPC equivalent in Germany and don't have any issues obtaining parts and service through the main dealers.
PSA who now own Vauxhall have deleted loads of lines on parts, not just for the vxr but all insignias. A lot of vxr parts are not made now , so repairing them is impossible unless you find them in breakers but seeing who little vxrs where ever on the road, you will struggle.
😂😂😂 lol why would you bother !!! Worst car in history!!!!
I have driven much worse modern cars I can tell you. I am all for change and modernisation, but some modern cars are a massive step back.
@@dylandylan7960 They were very good cars. I had the Ital model and Marina models. If they were rust proofed I would still driving one.
This is a Transalp engine
Yes, except the Transalp is chain drive. This engine is also shared with the Deauville.
If you go that way you can say it is a VT500 engine :)
@@antaresautomatyka9288 Yes, very similar.
Headlinings are easy to repair once out of the car. All u have to do is remove the material, clean the backboard and stick some new material on. Don’t try and bodge it in place as they always look shite and it never works
Thanks for your comment, yes getting the old headlining off the board, cleaning it and refitting it is probably the easier bit, getting it out of the car and refitting is the tricky bit. A job to go on the “Not so important list” at the moment though.👍
A fine looking motor and good review. Good engine and easy to work on.
Thanks Paul, I agree.👍
Good review and buying guide. Should have been Billy Whizzes Wheels.
😂lol cheers mate.👍
Thanks Will enjoyed the sound of that engine.
Glad u enjoyed it mate, yes that class 37 did sound awesome! Thanks for watching.👍
Comment
Well yes I did say leave a ‘Comment’ 😁
is this the 86hp version? or 103?
Well as it turned out it was fitted with the 84bhp throttle body but on the V5 it was supposed to be a 103bhp.
@@willswheels283 i’m probably gonna get one soon mapped at 131bhp and was originally 84, first car
@@ggggggg570 Excellent! The K series is a powerful smooth revvy engine, just hope 131bhp won’t cook it. The Streetwise although people didn’t “get it” when it came out, it was one of cars that started the urban on roader trend that turned into the SUV’s we have today.
Knowledgeable, informed, insightful and personable video. I enjoyed it! Subscribed…😊
Thanks Mate, glad you enjoyed it.👍
My neighbour used to have the 1,4 Streetwise bloody rocket they are 0-60 in 9 seconds and 125mph top speed , only problem was head gasket why ? because Rover lol , I really wish Rover had taken care and consideration into their Engines as the cars were good cars the 25 45 and 75 had so much potential
Yes the K series is flawed in its cooling system BUT the basic idea is a good one which is a light powerful and revvy engine, if you buy a Rover or MG with the K series power plant knowing it’s flaws and assets you’ll know how best to look after it, it’s the same with that Wankel Rotary engine in the Mazda RX cars, get the knowledge and you can have a reliable enjoyable motor.
@@willswheels283 Yeah shame there has to be a compromise but it's worth it when they are working 👍
Cool bike Will 👍
Cheers Dan!😎👍
Those pesky screws! Nice job though Will, persistence paid off in the end 😁👍
Thanks Dan.👍
The Haynes book of lies strikes again 😂 never a 5 minute job, still as you said success was achieved and it looks loads better
Tell me about it mate, but yes it looks a lot better now, got there in the end.👍
Nice. NTV's sound fantastic.
Yes, they certainly do.
🤠
👍
🤠
Just got round to watching, memories of my T reg one there… shame you can’t go faster or on the road really, I’d have booted your mate out for some drive by shots 😂
Thanks Rick, yes it would have been nice to have been able to go faster and test the car better, there was a guy they had taking drive by pics but not any vids sadly.
In a way I always find museums sad, knowing a lot of these are stuffed and mounted but I know a few get driven. I’m as bad at remembering models of cars but I get there occasionally 😂 looking forward to the Marina video, I had a T reg one and an Ital van.
I know what you mean, all the cars get cleaned regularily and started and run though. I can be sitting at home watching a you tube video of a car show rattling off names of cars and yet when it comes to my own video I go “blank”, I think doing this some more will help my confidence when filming and it’ll sound better in videos to come. Thanks for watching 👍
Well done Will super video and a good jolly boys outing.
Thanks Paul, it was indeed a good afternoon out.👍
