When you harvest a mushroom, you are literally harvesting a piece of fruit off of an upside down tree, whose branches, or mycelium, can literally run for miles in any direction. Pulling the fruit off that tree doesn't do any more damage to it then if you were pulling a piece of fruit off of a apple, or fig, are avocado tree. Mushrooms do not grow back at the base of the stipe where you cut them. Cutting them will not make a difference in there regrowth for future seasons.
