Landscape Photography - Sierra Mountains
Join me on our 4 day/3 night backpacking high Sierra adventure in California's Inyo National Forest, just east of Yosemite National Park. Images taken include mountains, lakes, and forests, and a bomb dank milky way shot. Unfortunately I didn't really film or show how I got the shots which are shown at the end, but I do try to show the journey of what it takes to get into the backcountry and shoot some images. I have one night to spare so I go camping near Trolltunga. Trolltunga (Troll's Tongue) is a super famous photo location known for a rock that juts out of a cliff which resembles a tongue. I take you through hiking and photographing the rock, as well as exploring for other landscape compositions in the area. Enjoy! Instagram: chriscarte.yay

I find a really cool composition in the tidepools of La Jolla during low tide. And the sky explodes at sunset. Another photographer sets up in my shot and I have to politely ask him to move. I have an instagram now: ChrisCartePhotography Check it out!

First I travel to photograph the La Jolla Pier in San Diego, then experiment with some "intentional camera movement" of the ocean waves. I think the results are pretty cool. Wow! These photos are beautiful! Please tell me if you interfered much in post-production to get such a final effect, for example, in the photo in the 6:25 minute of the film they are great (as if "smoky" splashing drops of water give it an unusual, very phenomenal look....) colors. Very effective staff and beautiful nature... Congratulations!
I always do some post production like adding contrast, bringing out shadows or highlights (dodging and burning), sometimes I will adjust color hues. But nothing was added into the image in terms of effects. That look that the photo had was just the way it looked in real life :)
@@chriscarte743 So, such a basic processing of extracting from RAW and delicate color pull-up is enough to get an amazing effect from this can and system lenses from Canon :)

Hey! Yea these were all shot on a Canon 6D with Canon’s 17-40mm f4 and a 70-200 f4L! Thanks for watching :)
I think only the last cave picture was with the 70-200, all the others were with the 17-40mm

I need a canon 6D!!!!!! I’ve just started the interest in wanting to get a real camera and not shoot everything from my phone or a drone! The quality is unmatchable from a dedicated camera!!

There is a water source, the Rio grande runs through big bend. Also Fort Stocken is a decent sized town close by. Also great little towns like Alpine and Marfa close by
I haven't watched my vid in a while but I think I was talking about water sources in the Backcountry when I was hiking to the Southern rim. But I actually swam across the rio grande on another trip and traded beer with a Mexican lol it was dopr
Your channel is under rated hope you get more followers. Not many people do what you do. It is difficult carrying sleeping gear and photography gear let alone water in my younger days I might do it

It's torrey pines beach, but i walked about a mile south from the parking lot. There's a rock sticking out into the water people climb on, and i kept walking south past that. Have fun!

Yea haha that's what I meant! I should know better, my dad graduated from the Scripps institute of oceanography...
This is really nice!!! Does your tripod sink into the sand when the water comes?
It will sink a little bit, I tend to push it down into the sand pretty far which seems to work alright for just a 1-3 sec exposure, if I was doing really long expo I'd have to change my tactics because it will slowly sink. Cleaning the sand out afterwards is a pain also haha. I've seen people put their tripods on CD's also would probably work better
As soon as you're out hiking in the mountains it's always worth it, with photo or not :-)
