I plan on buying and converting a 22’ U-Haul box truck into an RV. Until I complete the conversion, is it possible to change the box trucks commercial classification into a personal use vehicle so my registration is lower? (After the conversion next year I will then change it to RV.)

I want to get the Lienholder removed from the title of my vehicle, I'm not selling it, I just want them removed as the loan is paid off. I have my pink slip, signed by the lienholder in the bottom right corner, box # 2, releasing their interest in the vehicle. Would I use the transfer of title form for that? or is there a form to use strictly for removing the lienholder? Thank you for any help with this.

Hey brother I am trying to buy a kit car 1965 Shelby cobra from a dealer out of state. The dealer is in Charlotte and I live in California. But the dealer won’t sell the car to me because they said I need to provide them a kit car voucher from my local dmv otherwise they won’t sell the car to me. Because supposedly California only allows 500 kit cars per year to be registered. I already called the dmv and said there in no such thing as vouchers. Any suggestions I I should do? So what if a car is still owned by a bank/dealer and still has payments due, then it gets dumped on a mechanic? So the mechanic still hasn't been paid for repairs/storage, but the bank still is owed money for the car?

I bought a 1975 truck at an estate auction, well after a couple years of acquiring parts, I bring in shop to Start on it, when it came time to work on interior, I noticed the vin on cab was missing, so I checked title, and found vin on the frame, but they don't match, and the vin on frame is the only vin I can find. I contacted the auction company, and they basically said it's my problem, even though they advertised every car with title was verified. Only thing that title matched was registration paperwork in glove box.

Amen, I bought a car off this little jerk he waited until I paid him then come walking out with a title but said, now there it just one problem with this title.......I about fell over. Long story short it took me months to do what that jerk should have done, I finally by the Grace of God got a title issued to me. What had happened it had been repo and he bought it cheap from a car lot. The paperwork was not done rite. I should have sued the guy. He left me to deal with all of it. Lesson learned.

Looked at a car today with no title. 1969 buick. Really good condition. Couple red flags. Didn't list in the ad no title, drive over an hr away to chk it out. Registration on the front seat was in someone else's name. No thanks.

Trying to buy a 84’ Honda Goldwing (motorcycle). The seller says he has the title but his name is not on the title. The name on the title is the person he bought it from. He says he does however have the bill of sale from when he bought the bike. Would I have a problem at the DMV transferring the bike to me?

Also Remember the Lien sales do not have to provide a SMOG check with the sale so if you can inspect it make sure the Catalytic Converters are at least on there! Some tow companies been known to cut them out just to get some scrap money for them.

I ended up with my grandmother's mercury mountaineer after she passed away, my mom inherited the truck and she gave it to me, the title got lost when the truck was sitting for a year after she died, I don't know really what to do, my mom is older and doesn't want to deal with the court house because they take their time when they do anything, so it's all on me. A guy selling them in canyon lake mentioned if I bought one used I wouldn’t be able to get it registered because it would not have a vin. He said my only real options were to either buy one new, or buy a used one that was already registered in street legal. Is this true?
