Wood you Rather

Hi! I like DIY and particularly woodworking. Sometimes I even record myself doing that!
Storage! MORE STORAGE! Hinged drawer unit for my shelves
Drawer units for storage are very expensive. Plywood and scraps are cheap, the idea is free, and project ideas are rarer than a shiny pokemon. #diy #woodworking #woodshop #storage #storagesolutions

Christmas decoration- Nutcracker on the lathe
Переглядів 120Місяць тому
'tis the season, and a nutcracker seemed like a fun challenge. Breaking down the individual components really helped out a ton.
Long LOOOONG MAAa- Sheeeeeeelf!

Tasked with making an over 3 meter long shelf in a darkened colour with visuals of slight weathering, but still easily cleaned so no texturing this time around.
"me top blew off" Husqvarna mower headgasket swap
Переглядів 4872 місяці тому
This Husqvarna mower, fairly far into its teenage misanthropy, ran poorly and found enjoyment in sputtering, seemingly overheating, and drinking oil. My first, unfilmed botch-service found an air filter brimmed with motor oil, a blackened spark plug, and severely floopy carb springs. This deeper service however, sorted it well out.

Big brain ideas
Oh that is quite nifty. I love it
What angles did you cut your shelves at?
45 so the shelf will connect to both corner pieces, cut to fit the tilt-angle (around 20-30). Miter saw is absolutely your friend here, both tilt and skew. Also @YesiPleb 's comment on this vid is a good tip!
Oh, and I also want to say- inset the shelves deeper than I did in my video. The reason for this is it will create a little more room for the plants to not be squashed by the soil above them.
Can you write me the exact name of the gufier simrings on the gearbox?
Sorry, haven't gotten around to check on my rototiller, it's currently buried under 30 cm of snow. I've found some similar simrings but none that are brand specific. I'll have a look for you as soon as I can get to it! It's for the gear housing that drives the axel, correct?
Nice looking piece. Thank you for sharing
I love it!
Aw, thank you 😄
Really
With a toothbrush ! ..en gammel dasskost gjør susen :)
This would make a fantastic outdoor book chair 🤩
Knowing me I'll read one chapter and then sleep!
@@wood.you.rather 😂
Hahahaa 🤩
I use permitex fuel resistant gasket maker, works perfect
Now you tell me! I'll have to have a look around for that, thanks for the tip!
So does the same as before but worth much less. Don't ask this guy to restore your furniture!!
For some sleep deprived reason i thought you made a doll sized lazy susan until your hand came into frame at the end 😭 🤦♀️ 😂
😂 It's not the largest Lazy Susan out there, but she gets the job done
Haha brilliant 😃
Looks awesome! Nice work 👍
Thank you so much 😀
“I know this looks sus” LOL
If you want a super quick way to get those 60 degree angles and others, just use a speed square. Just set the pivot point at one side, rotate it around to align the desired angle with the same with a mark to the opposite side.
Thanks for telling us this! Doesn’t help me but I’m sure it will help someone else 😂
Thats…thats a thing?! Huh!
It is indeed! Works well too!
Ooh i like that thingamajig at the beginning 😅🤭
Oh yeah, my grrripper! Whole new table saw door opened up when I started using that😄
✨duct tape✨
Been going the duct tape route for years, blowing my budget out of the water! The hoover-hose needs to be free to be put on other tools😂
Excuse me while i just sit here and enjoy the sound 😁
Ooooh ive never seen a level that old let alone a wooden one 🤩
Its just so…satisfying seeing missing bits 😂
You should see all my bit sets then, like a Trypophobia horror-show😬
@@wood.you.rather 😅 just start mixing them to fill the spots
@@dipplot3 at some point I'll have one box full of torx, one with Phillips heads, one with.. no, only get two flats per set, that will be a while yet, hopefully!
Huh. Nifty🤩
🥰
Gah i jumped when it broke 😅 that looks gorgeous though. I love all the colours
Haha amazing!! I love it. Bit of technical difficulties with the honey tho 🤭
Yeah I think the thing I did wrong was scaling up the honey dipper, but not the honey🤔
@@wood.you.rather or maybe a more liquidy honey 🤔
@@dipplot3 Noo, that sounds far too easy, not my style🤔
@@wood.you.rather 😂
I knew manuals were good for something
Apparently they contain useful information, I had no idea!
😬😅
Oh thats nifty
Really practical when space is scarce! 😄
Why do you think we paint cars..?
To find yours easier in a car park, of course
the most satisfying part of repainting thigs is always removing the tape at the end, good job.
That is very true! Thank you!
Compression test first
Yeah, I guess I should've, but I don't have a meter. It'll be fine or I'll get a meter at some point!
An interesting solution. I struggled with V-blocks until I acquired a fractal vise.
Ooh! A fractal vise would be a fun restoration project, such a unique and brilliant thing!
@@wood.you.rather The most necessary thing for metalworking. Even a year after the purchase, I, like a child with a new toy, am happy to work with these vises.)
Thank you, sir. You have a great ratchet screwdriver.
It gets most jobs done😄 Have a good weekend!
I am very concerned about this bolt. He can hurt you. It seems to me that Mr. W.G. Allen invented his safety screws for such mechanisms. Please take care of yourself.
Thank you for your concern for my safety, Anrakyr! I've made improvements now :) ua-cam.com/users/shortsywRRHOL0hPQ?feature=share
A great skill to have, nicely done
Nice!
Im curious to know how well this worked out for strawberries.
It worked out quite well! Well, at least until the deer discovered the plants!
Good effort dude.
Very creative 👌 I love the design! I wonder 🤔 if it's possible to make one by myself!? It doesn't look that hard...:)
looks great!! :D
Thank you!😄
Keep up the wood work! 🪵
