I have the same thing on my driver side KYB mount - about 1 year after install which is nuts. Solved the issue by spraying AT-205 on the rubber. Spray, let it soak, spray again, let it soak. Repeat when noise re-appears.

A 2006 CRV does not have the top hat/washer. There is a steel collar under the nut that the rubber is bonded to like a control arm bushing. It looks like newer ones have a different setup, but not a 2nd Gen. I changed the upper mounts on both struts to OEM Honda upper mounts that have much stiffer and better quality rubber and haven’t had any problems since.

No bushings no washers. This is installation problem

ive looked thru a bunch of forums and everyone says kyb is gr8...especially the agx....strange to see a bunch of comments saying otherwise

I've used KYB gas adjust shocks on a number of vehicles over the years and I have to say they are awesome.The only time I've ever had any problems at all was when I installed KYB shocks on the back of my Nissan 300Z.The new shocks didn't come with a dust boot on them and as an experienced mechanic I should have known better but I installed them anyways and I had a long dirt road that I lived on.Sand and mud got up and around the exposed piston shaft,so they only lasted a couple of months.

I’ve noticed this about KYBs rubber it deteriorates very fast on their shock bushings too

I installed KYB on my car, and it is really tough to be surprised that it is the same price as the original one at the Toyota dealer

I've never had these problems, you just installed it improperly. I took my 4Runner all throughout the country and beat it mercilessly without issue so this is your handiwork, buddy, not theirs.

do not buy kyb, crappy product, I got them from partgeeks on 2015 accord, a pair of rear, start clunking on every bumps

How can I tell if it’s the struts or the mount ? Am getting a funny drive and I put in my struts 5 months now

The base is rhe problem, not the struts.

Did you install the mount with an air hammer?? It's too tight that's why it failed

Thank you so much for this! I'm ghostwriting a book for someone who did surface and saturation diving. He'd been trying to explain the med-lock to me, but I was having a hard time visualizing it. Thanks to this video, I can now see exactly what he was trying to explain to me. 😊 I know you posted this over 10 years ago now, but that was actually towards the end of his diving career. Just a few months after you posted this, he had the diving-related injury that ended his diving career. So this would've been the med-lock as he experienced it, even if they've changed it over the past 10 years. Thanks again for this video, y'all!

Though they were supposed to be hung or mounted? Not sure if the bases are hurting or helping. Also rounding the corners and offsetting the mounting position helps. Check out tech ingredients. He dove real deep. But now the daytons are sold out on Parts Express :(

On the various sites I have explored on DML speakers, far better range and quality is achieved by independently hanging the panel rather than anchoring it to a base as seen in this video. Of course, it is impossible to gain a true perspective based on the microphone used in recording these panels and the fact that what is being heard is over whatever speakers the listener may have linked to their computer.
