@@m0rce1 they were all of thisversion 1st was out of box build then the other 2 were doing something different the thing i like most about this kit you have lots of room to detail it.

@@m0rce1 yes sir i am having issue with doing any posting on tube. But my last build i sea foam green hull and grey deck,dull red anti fouling . I basicaly rebuilt both winches i found the detail too soft. I used 1/200 scale photo etch railings and ladders as you did i opened the windows and tarped the whale boat and strapped it down. Added mast lights and replaced those godaweful nubs of plasti (pullies) on the gallows frames. Added diesel and generator exhaust through funnel and a boiler vent , funnels on boat deck and reworked the radar assemblies. I like your lighting idea. Maybe next build ill give it a go myself.

Hi. Thanks so much for popping by to take a look. I agree the rust is too harsh I'm taking it down a notch with some filters as you say. Been opening the wheelhouse windows and gave that all a whitewash. Looks much better toned down. Please check next progress video for more input and thank you for the inspiration with your excellent Kandahar build!

I got the Russian Spy Trawler decals for my modern kit, the same one as shown here in m0rce1's video. Far cheaper than trying to buy one of those very old kits, as the ships in both kits are exactly the same. It's only the decals that are different. I was thinking of scratch building some "surveillance bits" to add to my own trawler, just to make it a wee bit different to the standard model.

@@Lambonights the Spy ship Volga? Cool! Where did you find the decals?

@@m0rce1 They just popped up on eBay. Very simple decals. A red flag with white outlined star. Two red stars, with white outline, on each side of the funnel and the word ВОЛГА, in white, on both sides of the prow. It might have ВОЛГА on the stern too, I can't recall. You might be able to get some of the decals off of a Russian aircraft kit, not hard to find a decal set for red stars, the name could be done with a white paint pen if you're careful. The Spy Trawler has no set painting guide, only suggestions, so pick the colours you think are best. The original box art had a black hull with a rusty yellow bridge area, while its last release had a white bridge area along with a black hull. In the end, build it your way. That's why this hobby is so cool, everyone's models can be unique!

@@m0rce1 Hey sorry for the late response! I used Rustoleum's 2x Ultra Cover Black Primer on an old ECSI rubber figure. Its dries extremely fast as well. Let me know how this works out for you :)

Don't have any rustoleum atm but will try Tamiya and Halfords aerosol primers and the vallejo agai for comparison. Will be making a video about the results.
