    The 2024 edition of the Presidential Greatness Project Expert Survey has Biden in 14th place, just ahead of Woodrow Wilson and Ronald Reagan. Trump comes in 45th, behind fellow impeachee Andrew Johnson and James Buchanan, the perennial cellar-dweller in such ratings due to his pre-Civil War leadership. Experts responding to the survey who self-identified as conservatives rated Biden No. 30, while liberals put him 13th and moderates ranked him 20th. All three of those same groups ranked Trump, whose presidency was marked by his flouting of historical norms, in the bottom five. On the survey's 0-100 scale of "overall greatness," a rating of 50 means a president was average, while zero means a president is considered a failure. Only the top three presidents - Abraham Lincoln at No. 1, followed by Franklin D. Roosevelt and then George Washington - scored above 90. The drop-off was sharp from there, with no one else above an 80 rating. Roughly half the presidents were rated below 50. Trump's overall rating was 10.92, easily the worst showing, while Biden's 62.66 had him tied with John Adams. Some of Biden's appeal could be due to the person he followed in the Oval Office: Trump was seen as "by far the most polarizing of the ranked presidents, selected by 170 respondents," according to a summary of the survey.

    I would have drilled and filed away some material of the brake adapter at the brake converter side. I guess with up to half of the material thickness, it is still safe enough. Alternatively build an adapter from steel with the appropriate thinner mounts below. I don't like the idea of weakening the brake caliper mount(s) that much. Removing material from both caliper and brake adapter might be a more reasonable solution. I would remove more material from the brake adapter than the caliper, though

    Great but how do you fix it? New bolts or bearings or just disassemble clean grease a bit and reassemble?

    • @mattsbicyclerepair1413
      @mattsbicyclerepair1413 3 місяці тому

      The surface that the bearing presses into must be cleaned of any calcification. I’ll generally just lightly brush that internal surface and then apply a grease with a high coefficient of friction, typically assembly grease.

    thats super smart where do you get this stethoscope?

    • @mattsbicyclerepair1413
      @mattsbicyclerepair1413 3 місяці тому

      This stethoscope was designed specifically for high end suspension mtbs knowing full well the amount of bearings on a multi-link suspension will inevitably make noise everywhere on the bike. I believe I got it through Mac tools….. it’s been so long I don’t remember.

      Funny you ask, and I kept a record of all the test drives, and it travelled almost 4000km without any major repairs. I only ever did regular maintenance (chain, cassette, etc.). Then the crank drive hub broke at the end of last summer. Turns out it was because I forgot to put the correct Loctite in there, so it could have gone longer I’m sure!

      There is a better way,and five times lighter,you can buy an extender that expanf as you tight the stem cap,but to make it really secure and strong JB weld all around the extention before putting it in,but make sure all parts that come into contact are thoroughly cleaned with Iso propelene or brake cleaner,then tighten the stem cap bolt.

      Can't go wrong with Shimano hubs , pretty much all of them . Adjust it right immediately and good to go for afew years the overhaul with top shelf grease and new chrome steel bearings. They will last a long time ...just don't over tighten the bearings. The front should be a little loose especially a 9mm axle and a little les for the 10mm out of the bike, and the rear just the slightest tic of play. When you clamp the quick release down I guarantee there will be no play in the bearings. Lube the freehub body too. ATF mixed with a small amount of grease will help keep the oil in place.
