I used the Dr Dennis Gross Spectralite LED face mask everyday for over 60 days. I alternated my actives every night. I also gave my skin a break one night of the week, free from tretinoin and glycolic acid. I haven't found a vitamin C that I like yet. I do want to eventually include that in my routine. If you have one that you like, please leave them in the comments below. Timestamps 00:39 - Pa...

I ask because I am also a makeup artist (but kind of taking some years off for myself) and I could see she works very similar to the way I do, and I also take a long time 🙈 Of course it can be faster, but when you have a brand new “canvas” it takes time to do the painting 😍😍

    Hi Lyn. You look absolutely stunning and will make a beautiful bride. The makeup is very similar to how I do Asian makeup. However, I would never use CT products, simply because CT is not a nice woman. I would also have shaped your eyebrows slightly differently, tweezing a few more hairs from under the mid to tail of the brow to provide more of an arch. Have you tried the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer? It's the best on the market for controlling oils and would be perfect for your wedding day in the Ozzy summer heat and humidity. I also agree with the makeup artist about the Hourglass powders. Hourglass finishing powders provide a soft 'filter like' ethereal glow that blurs texture and imperfections like no other powder on the market, and they are perfect for bridal makeup. Congratulations and I wish you a wonderfully magical day! Anna x

    • @lynjiang
      @lynjiang 21 день тому

      Thank you Anna! Interesting! An arched brow would have looked great too. No I haven’t but I’m keen to try it! I ordered the Paula’s choice toner based on your recommendations when they had the Black Friday sale 😍 I’m keen to try it out too! I’m glad you agree with the makeup artist with the hourglass powders! I always felt I couldn’t see them show up on my face when I used them. I owned diffused light and dim light. Diffused light felt like a setting powder but I know now I’m using them wrong

    • @The_Viking_Highlander
      @The_Viking_Highlander 21 день тому

      @@lynjiang Yes they are finishing powders rather than setting powders and were specificaly designed for film and photography. You seem to like the very glowy look of unset makeup, but I would highly recommend that you set your entire face for your wedding day to help with oil control and staying power. Lots of setting spray will bring back the glow and the hourglass powders that your makeup artist uses will photograph beautifully. I would also ask your makeup artist if she can use the Estee Lauder double wear for your wedding day. As you know, It's bullet proof and can be sheered out so it's not quite such full coverage. Ask your makeup artist if she has the Hourglass mineral veil primer. It's honestly amazing at controlling oil breakthough. Have a magical day sweetheart. You deserve it!!! xxx

    I left another comment about applying tinted SPF film on the inside of your car windows and your windows at home, but it seems to have been deleted. The film provides high sun protection and gives a mirrored effect from the outside, but is either clear or slightly tinted on the inside, protecting against 90% of UV rays and helping your car and home stay cool. It's a bit tricky to apply, but once you get the hang of it, it's a life saver.

    The Aduro LED silicone mask is the best on the market. It uses all clinically tested wavelengths and has options for all colours including special options for certain skin conditions. But, the results even after years of use of very minimal. Try the Paulas Choice BHA 2% toner in the black and white tub. It's a bit pricey, but you can get deals on the 100ml bottle if you shop around online. I've tried hundreds over my lifetime and nothing compares to to the Paulas Choice 2% BHA toner.

    It was definitely the Charlotte Tilbury moisturiser that caused your reaction. I've seen many clients react to CT skin products when used by other makeup artists. I've personally never used CT products and never will because of all the strong essential oil and skin reactive chemicals used in her products. Not to mention they are so rediculously over priced. I've met her in person many times and she's a horribly arrogant woman who treats people appaulingly. Never believe how people present themselves online. It's all fake and a big marketing ploy to get you spend your money. I have very sensitive skin, but it's also oily and I also use Tretinion. The Paulas Choice BHA 2% toner is the best on the market and I, nor any of my clients have ever reacted to it. It's fantatic at controlling oils, smoothing pores, clearing blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and milia.

    Hi Lyn. As a fellow oily skin woman and makeup artist of 36 years, have you tried patting your eyebrows with a little powder with a small brush? It may seem odd and make them look powdery initially, but after applying your products and brow gel or setting spray, they will look perfect all day. I've tried hgundreds of powders in my time, but I always go back to the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores in the pressed compact. Nothing controls oils like it. It can give flash back in photos if used too heavily, but if you use sparingly and then add setting spray, I promise you won't be disappointed.

    • @lynjiang

      omg never heard of that tip before! thank you! can’t wait to try that! so you’re saying to pat powder with a small brush onto the eyebrows before setting spray with the it cosmetics compact! so keen to try that! because my brow gels like dissolve with the oils of my skin 😕

    • @The_Viking_Highlander
      @The_Viking_Highlander Місяць тому

      @@lynjiang Yeah, blot any moisture or SPF off first with tissue or a cotton bud, then dust with IT Cosmetics BBP powder. Add you choice of pencil (I prefer the Nyx Brow pen in 2 different shades), then set with brow gel or setting spray. Try Got2B glued. I use the extra strong gel with a disposable mascara wand and quick dry with a hair dryer. A bit of eyeshadow or brow powder will help cover any shine or white bits.

    I totally agree about the brow gels and lip liners. I still haven't found a decent brow gel and had such high hopes for the Benefit, but it was terrible. The Maybeline lipliners are also my favourite. Gone Greige is the perfect purpley cool toned muted colour and does not budge. As a fellow long haired woman, I've given up with glossy lips. I always end up with streaks across my face after my hair gets stuck in it. Now I just use the Blistex Ultra Lip Balm SFP50 for hydration and sun protection on top of lip liner and it's perfect. Have you tried the L'Oreal Unlimited Mascara in the black genie bottle shaped tube with the bendable applicator? It's been my holy grail for over 10 years and no other mascara has ever compared. Dry patches and flaking can’t really be fixed after the makeup has been set and has been on for a while. If anyone tells you that, just know they are lying and are trying to sell you a product. This is why having dry skin is lot more of a curse than oily or combo. Dry patches can only be fixed during skin prep, and with proper exfoliation before applying makeup. And of course, knowing what products to use and what to avoid. Nothing is wrong with the Mac Fix+ if people know what it is really for, but it definitely comes down to preference and what works for your skin.
