Grounding barefoot shoes - BS or not? | Bahe Revive Review
Amazing! I want even wider!
i wish there was a barefoot boot that i could wear for welding. two main issues. i need a steel toe, and i walk on concrete all day.
Love the double-take where you realised half your subscribers would have no idea what Waitrose is.
If people want to set personal bests, do they often stop wearing barefoot shoes and cause them to get injured? Compared to the Nike alphafly, is it even possible to set a personal best barefoot?
I have autoimmune and my feet hurt more often than they do not.🙁 I have trouble wearing closed toe shoes, as they cause pain in the ball of my foot-it feels like my metatarsals are literally grinding against each other as bone-on-bone, even though that is not an accurate depiction of what is happening. I started wearing barefoot shoes only a week ago today. The extra roomy toe box no longer causes that “closed-toe shoe pain” in the ball of my foot. My feet are getting stronger with each walk and I feel good-it’s even helped with pain in my knees/hips/lower back. I do currently have some minor ache on the top of my foot(where it meets the ankle) that travels down to the outside edge of each foot. It doesn’t feel like an actual “injury”, but more like the ache you feel when you begin to exercise a muscle you have neglected n it’s letting you know it’s there and not pleased. lol I am going to keep going and see if it dissipates. If it doesn’t, I will have to find another way around it, but in also trying strengthening exercises to see if it makes a difference. I think it’s just bc my feet aren’t used to moving in this way since most of the shoes I’ve gotten over the past 2 1/2 decades have super amounts of padding to try to alleviate my autoimmune pain. The padding may absorb shock from terrain, but it also immobilizes your foot and you end up walking almost flat-footed, slapping them down like a duck😩
13 barefoot years and counting.
Great video review. Think I'll be getting some later this year! I must say though - 720p is just NOT acceptable these days. It honestly made this a little unpleasant to watch. Your content is awesome, but you've gotta keep things at 4k or at least 1080p. Best of luck with your future videos :)
Solid review mate. 🙂👍 Luks are now on my radar. I started wearing barefoot shoes almost 2 years ago and cannot go back to regular coffins. I have very flat feet that are wide in the mid sole and I have made a few mistakes by buying some of the barefoot narrower shoes that look cool and feel fine in the shop only to find out hours later that my feet are hurting due to narrow mid sole area. An expensive learning curb. Loving your channel mate. Subbed
Vivobarefoot are not as good as they used to be. Their model Addis was great, now they seem to make them in China and the shape of the sole completely eliminates space for pinky toe! They are more concerned about a semi circle shape than space for the foot! You need to size up to get space for the complete foot ending with a floppy front.. They obviously lost their main designer..
Great review!
Sensory signals through the feet are so important to the human body, more important than anyone can imagine or we even truly know, i'd never move back to a normal shoe.
awesome but what about wintertime ? i live on a mountain in austria. is there any barefoot shoe for winter ?
I loved hikes for 3 months. Now my feet are hurting in them. Stoped me from buying another pair.
I struggled with plantar fasciitis until trying these shoes. I was spending hundreds of dollars monthly with no relief. After buying my first pair of Hike footwear I will not buy anything else. After a month with these shoes I have forgotten what plantar fasciitis feels like!!!
How the Motus Strength compare to the Primus lite III regarding the size, please?
I like this sort of shoe. It works best for me. Side point, about 20 to 30 percent of European populations have the second to as long as or longer than the first. It is a normal variation, sometimes called a Greek foot. In Asian and African populations, it is 10 to 20 percent. Some of us even have a very long middle toe, and it causes a lot of problems in a typical toe box. Still, the wide toe box fits better on a Greek foot than the standard shoe.
Shout out injinji toe socks! Honestly I cant that you enough for sharing. My feet have been jacked since birth. Mom always stuffing me into not only misaligning shoes but cheap misaligning shoes. Smh feet really looked like velocirator claws. That was until about 3 years ago when I purchased my Vibram fivefinger toe shoes, also at the same time dicovered injinji toe socks. These products changed my life. Im a advocate for logic and having 10 individual slots for my 10 individual toes for me was a no brainer. Of course I got stared at but im not one that really cares about the outside noise in the first place. All in all my feet are realigning to the way that they should have been all my life, thank God! Ever since the beginning of my journey ive been researching alot of barefoot shoes and Vivo is one that intrigues me alot. I have heard about the cautions of running in barefoot shoes and was going to just by a nike or addidas until you presented these Hydra ESCs to me. Now im sure of what my next running shoe is going to be, thanks you. God bless.
On your hated video, I argued with you about the five fingers cause I love them. I don’t care what they look like they for me they perform and they are big Mayfield pee. Feel the best I thought.
So I have been wearing barefoot shoes form Wildlings for a few weeks now. Mostly when I go to work (a few steps to the car, to rhe office and when I am in the office). Is that too much for a transition?
How did the glue hold up? In terms of separation from the leather?
8:09 would you recommend those primeus shoes from Vivo for casual every day wear instead of just the gym?
the seem awesome but they are extremely expensive, straigh up luxury brand expensive so hopefully I'll get rich one day so I can afford them, for now Belenka and growndies will do
lol, Ill give you one mistake you totally did not do. I am almost confident you did not put on your first pir of barefoot shoes which were like extra extra barefoot because you like to go all in and then go do parkour and high jumps in them for a whole day with friends =) and then spent the next 3 days with your ankles and knees inflamated to double it's size and a 40degree fever. Still get shivers down my back by just thinking about that😅
Vivo shoes are having toebox too narrow to be considered barefoot for me. They are also one of the narrowest compared to other barefoot options.
I wear vivo primus trail 2s and switch to crocs when my feet cant take it anymore. I quit for about a year but started doing it again about 2 weeks ago and really enjoy hiw it feels and hiw much stronger my feet feel and makes me want to move arounf more
Found some really great ones from Amazon called Cool Max, 30 bucks for 3 pair and they have lots of colors and styles. I’ll never go back to regular socks.
Thank you for video. All of those shoes looks good. But have your tried Hike Footwear barefoot shoes? I transitioned summer of -21 after chemo ruined my proprioception and I started falling about and breaking bones. I started out hard, got a stress fracture, healed, and stubbornly went at it again. One and a half year later on my hike barefoot shoes. I have my body back. At 56, no back problems, no neck problems, great balance, big, broad, strong feet. I couldn´t recommend barefoot shoes enough.
I’m 71. I bought my first pair of barefoot shoes a couple of months ago from HIke Footwear. I love them. I have flat feet and am getting root nerve blocks in my lower spine every 4 months. I still had a problem with daily pain in my left leg. These shoes have resolved that. I can go all day with no pain.
I wore a name-brand barefoot shoe for 3 months and developed Achilles tendonitis. Never again.
Ive been using barefoot shoes since 2018. I started with the vibram toe shoes during my strength training or gym workouts. I began to appreciate them when i got my first vivo shoes for outdoor use. It was a slow burn to get into the barefoot movement and i will never go back to regular shoes. I have to wear regular shoes during work for safety reasons but other than that i wear zero drop shoes all the time. I have no more foot pain, no issues and strong feet.
My arc has pain every day now from these fucking barefoot joke
Shoes always hurt my feet. When I was a toddler, my mom had to bribe me to put shoes on in the shoe store. I rip shoes off as soon as I can! Even socks are hard to keep on. I found that shoes were causing my foot issues and after about 6 weeks of using barefoot shoes, my foot and ankle pain stopped. I realize that I'm an exception because I walk around my property in bare feet, work from home barefoot, etc., and only wear shoes to drive, hike, and go shopping. But my arches are coming back and my bunion is going away. Unfortunately, now that the polar vortex is here, I have to wear insulated shoes with thick soles and guess what? My foot and ankle pain returned! I wish they made barefoot winter shoes that could keep me warm at five degrees Fahrenheit. Let me know if you find one!
I'm no stranger to barefoot shoes. I have been wearing them for several years, have tried most of the brands out there, and will never go back to regular shoes. I have to say, I have never been more blown away than I was when I tried on my first pair from Hike footwear. Instant love! They look great, they feel great, the offer great features like stretchy, no-tie laces and unbeatable grippy sole! They are comfortable with or without toe-spacers . . . in short, they are my new favorite shoes. They also have a removable insole (for those still transitioning) which can be replaced with your favorite insoles for a custom feel. Try them! Once you feel the increased balance, sensation and control, you will never want to go back to your old 'foot coffins'.
Corns is prove we shouldnt be wearing shoes
At middle school i ditch my shoes when sprinting and became the fastest white boy (second fastest in the school) who were wearing spikes! We are animals and animals dont wear shoes! I go bare foot at festivals and my back shoulder ache after 12 hours of dancing is none exsistance
Hi, would you recommend the Primus trail or lite version if I’m going to be using for a mix of road running, runs in the forest, forest walks, walking to work on concrete and also for the occasional hikes? Struggling to choose as each one seems better suited depending on the activity but I only want to buy 1 shoe
Well, good job to Google, your video showed up on my android feed. I'm an avid barefoot shoe user. Got my VFFs like 15 years ago? Gosh that was like another life. But never pulled the trigger on a high end real leather until today. Going to subscribe to your channel as well. Might have heard of your channel before, but you're right that I've never heard of this family business... Algorithm gods worked their magic
I love it when tech does tech stuff 😆. If you get them through let me know what you think
Love it Clem! 💖
Im 87 and have bad sweling in my feet. Ive bought tons of shoes I now cant wear I nee a very wide shoe
As someone with very wide feet, I don't care about the aesthetics. I just want shoes that don't stop an inch before my toes do
Well these might be the answer to your prayers!
What if your middle toe is longer. Thats ny issue!
I like the green leather boots they offer. I see that they offer different sole thickness, but I don't think that is 100% true. It looks like they have a 4mm cherry sole, regardless, and if you want 6, 8 or 10mm it is actually an increase in the midsole. I think I might have to send an email and check things out. 8-10mm of sole would be great for wear on the city pavement. But I might still check out a pair of blue oxfords. Thanks for bringing these to my attention. I love my Jim Greens but wish they had a more anatomical toe box. These might be the next best thing!
Definitely more anatomical than the Jim Greens! I’d be interested to know what they say about the sole, let me know when you hear back!
@TheBarefootStrengthProject Will do!
Great review! I really like the look of these and it seems like there is a lot of care and craftsmanship going into them. Also, the customization options are interesting and that (to me) probably justifies the price.
Thank you! And I absolutely agree, when you have people dropping the same amount on a pair of off the shelf Vivos I think the price is very justified!
The width is essential. I have a pair of SoftStar Primal Sawyers, and these seem similar to those. People don't notice the toe width/shape too often. -OR- they really know me and how uncompromising I am about healthier footwear - in which case they're just glad I bought something that looks more like a casual shoe and less like something a clown would wear.
Totally agree, the toe box is key! It’s a shame it doesn’t get more attention.
These are simply too expensive for me.
I have NEVER heard of Xero before. But Steven was just so ... kind ... yea kind is the word! That I had to look them up
@TheBarefootStrengthProject - You mentioned your 105kg weight a couple of times and inferred this was the upper end of what they'd planned for. I'm 109kg. Think I'm going to have problems?
Onde comprar no Brasil? 🇧🇷
Amigo, dice en la página de web de ellos que es gratis el envío por todo el planeta. Creo. Apenas compré. Perdón por el español. Se que falas portugués, pero me entenderás
I’m having them pains while I’m wearing normal trainers, I’m going to get myself some barefoot trainers
These look almost the same as Soft Star Shoes that are made in the USA. Essentially a leather moccasin with a rubber sole
