The problem with what you're saying is that they're saying it was one sales person that went off the books and tried to do this to get in the good books of his bosses. The issue I have with that is that they didn't fire him for ruining the reputation of their company which tells me that the order came from the CEO himself and the CEO isn't going to fire himself now. Is he so because nobody got fired and they didn't make a public announcement of what happened and how they remedied it and how they could save their reputation. It means that the entire company was supportive of the concept of of what they did. So I'm not buying it and that's why I will never buy one of their cameras.

The CEO of gopro has been taking excessive compensation. It was only going to take so long before competitors smoked the GREEDY CEO.

With all due respect, you are speaking more about aspect of promotions, sponsorships, etc.. I have also used POV action camera but based on my application which is just for leisure motorcycling recordings, I do prefer having a 360 camera that suits my requirements better.. so I guess it's different folks, different strokes perhaps..

I think blaming Insta 360 company as a whole is a mistake. I did hear it was one person trying to get ahead and make big strides by bending and that Insta 360 has remedied that issue. Would like to hear more on it though.

Well the must "funny" remark constantly on UA-cam is " Company x gave me product x for review, BUT i am honest". Well, even though i dont think that most reviewers are not trying to be honest its a scientific fact, that if you get something sponsored, your opinion will be colored. There is no way around it, its how the human brain works, and its been studied and documented by a lot of research projects. There is not such a thing as a unbiased review, period. Being honest about ones biases ( the one you are aware of) is the important part, but true unbiased mind is a fictional fantasy.

After 5 minutes I gave up. I can't understand what you are trying to say. Why don't you go to the point at the start? You are lost in words and only going around the bush. Myself, I can only say that Insta 360 X4 is very good.

I recently bought the Insta360 One RS exactly 3 days ago and I've been happy with the camera and the App. So maybe that's why there's mostly UA-cam videos, about that camera, that are 2 years old. Either the boycott or the recent videos, if any, were removed.

Hi, thanks for the summary, very well put. I bought my Gopro Hero 12 last year and I like this action camera. It is great for hiking and all the traveling. But one feature I was missing which is the HLG format. I usualy also record videos on my iPhone and it supports HDR video which looks great on HDR compatible screens and it is hard to combine these videos from both devices when one can record in HDR and the other can’t. For me it is probably the best thing Gopro finaly brought to their cameras. I like that GPS is back too. I wish at least one of the new accessories would be included in the standard packaging though. (micro lens or magnetic charging doors.)

GoPro have 0 customer service. They ripped me off by not honoring a promotion and no number of messages, complaints or messages on Social Media resolved it. Burnt me for life. Insta360 have so far been great to deal with….

I wanted a 360 cam. Talked to the rep at best buy, should I choose the gopro 360 or insta360 x4. He recommend the X4, so we got it. The wife wanted one so we got the Insta360 X3 bundle from Costco for $100

To all of you who are planning to buy insta360 x4, hear this. The lenses are so fragile and it will be a nightmare to have them replaced and expensive, insta promoted it as an action camera and its a lie, fragile lenses are not for action camera. Its a good camera but atrocious as an action camera.

I do have an issue with influencers who wouldn't be seen dead carrying anything less than the latest most expensive gear available doing reviews on products they would probably never buy let alone use.

I bought it simply because it’s more practical than GoPro, everything from touring to cycling. Many companies do pay UA-camrs to promote their products from the big handphone makers to cars. No difference here with Insta. It’s part of the business.

With the Insta360, the footage and reviews tell the same story - it's a VERY good camera FOR WHAT IT IS FOR. The strengths and weaknesses are pretty apparent when you watch any reviews. Resolution is spread across 2 sensors on the 360, it's not the best on framed one-directional quality. BUT it is GREAT if you want to capture 360 degrees in good light. I just bought one, having watched several paid (and not paid) reviews.

From what you are saying, it appears that you should be focused more on the paid reviewers than the camera company?? If the reviewers lied about anything, then they are grown ups, and you are too. What you are saying about camera companies and quite frankly most any other company that tries to promote their products on UA-cam is really nothing new. Yet, if you are paid to promote a product in a way that it really is not, then you are the responsible person. Have you not watched television adds before? Do you really believe everything the add is saying? I guess you think UA-cam is some sort of safe space 😂 to defy all liars. Get out of here man! I have GoPro and 360 products and like them both, but 360 products are my go-to product at the moment, and it is not because of some guy walking around on UA-cam convincing me. It’s because I know for myself.

I still use the Go2 More than all my other cameras combined! What we don't learn here is whether these smarmy tactics were taken by some subcontracted rogue marketing company honchos serving the Anglo-Sphere segment of Insta 360 worldwide. On the other hand, it may have been at insta headquarters' instigation!

GoPro is on the verge of bankruptcy and I now see why. Their product quality has gone down the tubes. I have a $500 GoPro max that is advertised as water proof but at the beach in waist high water it died. I tried getting in touch with GoPro and it was a joke. I bought an insta360 x4 and it is waaay better. It stitches much much better and the workflow is much more robust. Even before my GoPro died it was buggy and sometimes wouldn’t even record. It is absurd. So while this guy is saying he’s unsponsored, he is acting like a paid advertiser for GoPro when we all know they’re going downhill.

GoPro just F themselves with their increase in prices for their shitty app and less then exceptional editing capabilities. And hopefully ppl sue them for taking away unlimited storage of non GoPro footage especially for ppl who bought into that years ago. If insta 360 wasn’t ignorant when it came to replaceable lens, GoPro would be dead.

I ditched all my gopro stuff for Insta360. The latest “scandal” doesn’t sour me on Insta360. Their x4 is the BEST motovlogging camera out there IMHO. To me people need to ignore most youtube reviews in general anyway. Most reviewers get free stuff & perks for positive reviews from most tech companies. It’s not just Insta360. Anyone who thinks otherwise is living in a dreamworld.

Storm in tea cup. Yes it's far from ideal that Insta360 is encouraging influencers to not disclose that they are sponsored. Absolutely dick move. But consumers are smart & can make up their own minds. It's not like the X4 is a rubbish product & they are hiding something. It's a good product & there hasn't been many videos since this hoo-ha saying that it's crap. So sure, call them out for being dicks, call out any influencers who you find out didn't disclose, but lets not over look the fact that it's a good product & is great at what it does.

Its a shame insta 360 did this and that vloggers jumped on it. I have an X2 and an X3. Very happy with those cameras. Work flow is great. Vloggers need to not keep test units. Sent them back, give them away. Whatever. Hopefully this is a lesson for those vloggers. Great topic.
