Padres by far had the better pitching staff compared to the Guardians and Royals. They had great starting pitching and elite relievers. So don't agree that Yankees faced better pitching. If you look at location+ and stuff+, Padre were by far the best as well.

50/50 has never been done before Ohtani. But that doesn't make it one of the very best seasons ever. Stolen bases are not the second most important offensive stat. Not even close. On-base percentage is FAR more important than stolen bases because not only are you getting on base you are not wasting precious outs for your team. Ohtani's .390 OBP was good but not elite when talking all-time seasons. Not to mention he was a DH only. I don't even think this year was Ohtani's best year. To me he was better in 2023 with the 44HR 1.066 OPS with while finishing 4th in CY Young voting. Bizarre to me that everyone is so gaga for stolen bases that they think his 2024 season was better... This seems like a fantasy baseball mindset... As far as 1956 WS MVP. If Larsen didn't win it then Berra was more likely to win it than Mantle. Berra had twice the RBI and much more WPA (win probably added) in the world series.
