Hit Caddo this morning before the wind got ridiculous. Caught some really nice fish and lost a BIG one! The one that got away was included in this video. When she broke the surface, she also broke my line. Wrapped me up in a trot line. 😡 Had a good time on the water though! #RDBoutdoors #CaddoLake #Ribbit #YumDinger #Chunks

Fishing is not always about catching all the fish in the lake or catching the biggest one, sometimes it's nice to just leave all the seriousness behind and enjoy yourself with a good friend! Get out there and have a blast!

Warm air temps and warm water temps brought the bass up schooling today! My Dad and I had a blast catching them on Carolina Rigs and Jerkbaits. Looking forward to the 2023 season!

I would love for you to take me and my brother out so he can hook up in some nice bass in march.
I fish a lot on lake bistenue really wanting to try Caddo but don’t know where to launch where to go any advice?
@@jaredyoung5848 launch at Tuckers Camp and you can start fishing right there. Great area of the lake.
@@RDBoutdoors awesome thanks man! I finally bought a brand new bass boat and been dying to get on caddo!
@@jaredyoung5848 Nice! Good luck!
Any ideas what is going on at Caddo right now? Taking my son there Saturday. Probably prefish Friday.
@@bigfishhoward honestly I haven’t been out there since June or so. I’m hearing that frogs are working well and schools can be found out away from the vegetation. Good luck!
What this area name again????
You can't boat flip a crappie!
😂🤣
I would never think to fish there!! lol! Main lake out of Tucker's? Is that a summer pattern or is this a transition time?
Yeah, who would have thought? lol. The fish are definitely scattered from shallow to deep right now. Although as you know there really isn’t very much “deep” on Caddo. I guess I consider deep to be 5’. The main lake is generally all I ever fish. Plenty of fish there year round.
@@RDBoutdoors isolated trees, pads, etc on main lake? Would you consider trees on the outer part of like BGB and other areas to be main lake? That one you lost that big un on seemed to be REAL isolated!! lol.
@@johnsacker1139 yes absolutely! The outer trees around BGB and any singles you can see out there all alone are my favorites! Anywhere from the mouth of the river all the way to Jeems bayou.
@@RDBoutdoors great info, thank you! I guess I just need to be patient and hit those areas. It's tough to troll from one tree a hundred yards to another for me!! lol!
@@johnsacker1139 hahaha, it is grueling sometimes. Good luck!
Nice fish, bro. I like watching your content.
Thanks!
Respect! Love your fishing acumen and your catch and release! Reminds me of when I was a youngster on Lake Bistineau.
Thank you! 💪🏼
I’m pretty sure that blind you were fishing was one of me my dads and buddies blind
Awesome! It’s a nice blind and in a good spot!
What’s the depth? I’m going to hopefully make a trip there within the next few weeks.
Caught my fish shallow, 3’. The lake has depths as deep as 18’-20’. Not sure which you were asking for.
You answered my question with both your answers. I was wondering on the overall depth of the lake but also glad you answered on what depth you were fishing. Thank you and I enjoy your videos.
I went up to Hosston and caught a TANK of a crappie on a wacky rigged bass worm.
That little lake sure has a healthy population of bass in it!
Yes it really does. Love that lake!
@@RDBoutdoors I love the lake too, maybe sometime you'll see me out on my kayak.
@@Pwnzistor maybe so! 👍🏼
What trailer you like to use on the structure jig?
Looks like a crazy craw
@@BassFisher426 I like the rage craws
What have you been throwing on black bayou? Trying to figure out what colors I should throw
Black and blue is always a good choice!
Whats the average depth you fish on Caddo?
2 to 3 foot. Average depth for the lake is 6 foot
Never fished Caddo. Any suggestions for a newbie?
Honestly it’s an easy lake to get a bite on. Find you some 2-3’ trees anywhere on the main lake and you can catch them. Weightless senkos, jigs, Texas rigged brush hogs. It all works and good luck!
Nice bro!
Thanks man!
Do you do tournaments? People out where I live do a lot of tournaments. I have a fishing channel also but just ocean fishing. Last year I caught a couple blue fins and some other ocean fish
I used to do tournaments but not anymore, yeah I seen a couple of your vids! Those were big tuna!
Nice vid! Just subbed! I’m just south of you on Toledo! Always wanted to come up and hit Caddo. Maybe in the near future I make a trip up that way!
Thanks! Good luck to you!
Dang !!! Randy you were killin it Bro 👍🔥🎣💪
Thanks!
Thanks for your comeback going to be a 6-hour drive maybe a few places to try
Coming down for first time on 25th 71 and disabled. After seeing your video I'm ready' Can you find thoes places you mentioned on a Caddo map
Yessir, those places are listed on the map. Good luck to you! Should be a good time to be on the lake!
You been out to lake the pines this year
Nah I haven’t been
You ever fished black bayou in hosston? I won a tournament last weekend with almost 25 pounds and man what a lake that is. Caddo is definitely my favorite though keep rolling with the videos 🎣
I have several Hosston videos on my channel. Including one catching a 9 lb 6 oz bass, and another over 8 lbs. Congrats on the win! It is definitely an awesome lake!
Laying the smackdown!great video
Keep posting videos and this place will look like Bussy Brake before too long. Can't find a parking spot.
Man Randy Nice Haul Bro you sleighed Em ! Very nice bass . I am going Sunday but this front will probably mess them up !
Thanks! Good luck, you never know, they might still bite good
GOAT
I'm hoping to get to try this lake out this year.
Awesome fishing spot.
Beautiful fish!!
Nice Haul Randy
Great video bud. Keep up the good work. Got some nice bass. Just subscribed to your channel. Good luck out there and tight lines.
Yo! That's my favorite place to fish!
Nice!!!
Great vid, I live on caddo cant wait to get out there next week. Keep up the great job you do.
Thanks! Good luck to you!
Great video, glad to see you uploading again. That's a great day on Caddo.
Thanks! Should have lots of content this year!
What were you catching them on?
coming down to try lake in March or April probably in Mid March. 71 yrs old don't fish tournaments. I live in Vian ok about 7 1/12 hrs away . Can you help me out on a couple of srots so I don't waste so much time looking. will fish for about two days
Yessir, mid March is a great time to be on Caddo! Honestly you can catch them just about anywhere on Cypress trees in 2’ - 3’ of water. If you search google, you can find a map and look for Green Break. It’s a great place to catch fish. Good Luck
thanks will do @@RDBoutdoors
Is it easy to run this lake.
Yes, you can run anywhere on the lake from the south end all the way to the poles on the north end, then you have to be careful. Lots of shallow water up there
@RDBoutdoors thanks we are from Arkansas. My son has a High School tournament there at the end of February. I have fished Caddo but not that lake.
@@bigfishhoward End of February is a great time to fish the North end. Slow roll a big spinner bait and I guarantee y’all will catch some fish. Don’t be afraid to cast into open water. Lots of 3-4’ flats up there. Good luck! Check out my videos for Cypress. I have a few from Feb-March
Nice! Those were some solid fish! I like when they get the black blotches, makes them look really cool.
Caddo was on fire this time of year ! Can't wait till spring again, was out there Sunday afternoon and caught 11
I am looking forward to the spring as well. Looking forward to deer season a little more tho. lol
Where you been? You haven't posted anything in a while.
This has just been one of those years, I’ve had lots of other projects to take care of and work has been super busy as well! I’ll have something out soon hopefully 🙏🏼
You using LiveScope?
No I don’t have livescope
I haven't been on caddo in over 35 years. My wife and I are going to state park in June. What areas would you suggest I start at?
Honestly in June you can’t go wrong on Caddo. Topwater bite will be in full swing, I personally like the green break and Ames basin areas. But anywhere near tuckers launch and old folks playground is good too. Good luck
Nice video as always, looks like you had a good 19lb or so in your best 5. That's a great day.
Thanks bud!
I’ve never fished Ivan, but I ain’t been doing no bass fishing in a few years! This looks like a good place to start back!
This is a very good Lake and full of bass. Since it’s a small lake, it’s a great place to get back into bass fishing! Good luck!
Cool video, just fish no bs. Nice.
Thanks man!
Is the spawn still on?
Yes, spawning fish will move in and out over the next month.
