Techniques from Saam Mun Kuen and Gaou Bo Tuei, these pushing techniques can add a seriously powerful, simple option to use along with your regular striking skills. These motions are pulled directly from Lam Hung Pak Mei Form-Sets, and are usually seen more than once. In the case of the double palm push, that is arguably the technique around which the entire form of "9-Step Push" seems to have ...

@@brokeheartwolf3733 Thanks for watching!!
do you happen to teach the pakmei health qi gong forms?
@@mtfhs I know that we use "hard" qigong to develop our "Iron Shirt", or conditioning the body through being struck. The other half of the training is "Golden Bell", which is a bit more difficult to describe. I haven't seen any "soft" qigong in Lam Hung Pak Mei so far.
@@saberserpent1134 I get you.I know there's many sects of Pak.Mei . I'd always heard that there is the soft Qigong for building up the internal strength, route and stamina. As well as the iron shirt / Golden Bell for the external / bridging / external applications great content either way train hard / Train always. Happy New Year:-)
Can you make active the links please!! Thanks.
@@hugomauriciobautistaalvare3016 I'll get it done!
I see Military Da Dao has greater mass, but on the other hand, the Song Hand Dao has a more forward balance. In your opinion, is one feeling like a more powerful cutter than the other?
🙏🙏🙏
These slow demos are great for beginners. We get to see all the detail. Thank you.
@@Laj-t9k I'm glad you're enjoying the content! Thank you so much!!
Love this version!🤙🏽🤙🏽👍🏼👍🏼
@@brokeheartwolf3733 Thank you so much for the kind words!
4:51 Sifu: Are you exaggerating the movement for the purposes of demonstration?
@@Laj-t9k Yes.
@saberserpent1134 thank you
Nice cutting, man! Cool swords
@@KF1 Thanks, Brother! 🙏🏻
At 2:57 and 3:44, would you say that the sinking starts with a compression of the lats downward?
Awesome! Does Pak Mei have kicking attacks and defenses?
@@Laj-t9k Yes. I'll be doing a video on our three basic kicks coming up shortly!
Are your neighbors acclimated yet? 🤣🎃
Oh, yeah, the neighbor's kids come and watch sometimes, lol
This Song Hand Dao would really benefit from a tip. Simply to have an option besides slashing.
@@AGS363 I don't disagree, however there IS a reason for the "clipped tip". Check out the video on exactly that sword/topic on @Scholar-General s channel. I'll get a link.

So good..I love the applications. How do you apply the salute? This is so good. I think eventually you are going to need a better mic though.

Awesome...I love the double chow. I'm starting to understand it a bit better. Thank you!
@@davidbarnwell6180 I'm making a video specifically on "chow" and "sueng chow", you may find useful!
The applications presented here are excellent. Thank you for sharing.
@@Laj-t9k Thank you for watching! And for the kind words!
Nice thank you.. can you do more on double chow? That exists in Taekwon-Do but we think of it more as some to knock a grab to the lapels loose. I prefer your application. So, I'd love to see more on it. See ua-cam.com/video/EC1LDmCmedM/v-deo.htmlsi=2p_UBd5LryNZG_wl for Tkd form that uses Chow
@@davidbarnwell6180 Absolutely! We also use it as a lapel seize, but we have other applications for it, as well. I'd be happy to do an application video for "chow" and "sueng chow", next time I have a partner to work with! Thank you for watching and thank you for your comment and question! Stay tuned! :)

Great to see this. I am 60 years old. I been learning this since I was a kid. My father taught me Pek M. He was directly taught by Cheung lai Chen Sifu. Many people leaning this but not quite right. You are quite good, just need a little adjustment.
@@countryman5414 Thank you very much! Yes, I still need to work on Sei Ging, Baat Fa, and relax my shoulders; I carry too much tension in my arms. I'm scheduled to meet up with my Sifu Ruston Aaker, and Sigung Simon Lui next month, to practice on Saam Mun Choi, Sei Mun Baat Gwa, and Gau Bou Tuei, along with Battlefield Staff, Throat-Locking Tassel Spear, and Flying Phoenix Double Sabers. Thank you for your kind words!!
@saberserpent1134 There are 4 major in Pak mai. 直步, 九步推, 十八魔橋, 猛虎出林. Sorry I dont know how to write in English. Other than that I classified them are 李家拳
Very similar how I learned it. This is me, (link) a couple of years ago. Had to play a bit with the form ad hoc as it was a tiny raised podium, like 2x3 meters. Nowadays I would use a different flow, slower, a bit more “staccato”. ua-cam.com/video/B9ZAkGuTzqs/v-deo.htmlsi=PSagyn6gqD8avGbT

Hello Sifu Jeremy I’m currently a student with Sifu Simon Lui here in Minnesota. Where did you find the real tonfa?
@@michaelgray8766 They were bought from a friend. Made by "Toreii".
5:12 I did this exact exercise for 7 years i TKD. Never once seen it on the internet. Can get pretty vicious, it's tough to keep up
I learned this in Seven Star Mantis aswell, and a variation where we change stances for each hit, must be old to be in so many systems
@@loganp2896 it was super useful for understanding bone contact and feel. Very informative exercise
@@loganp2896 That's cool you learned it in Mantis. Thought it was Korean, maybe otherwise
I am totally jealous of your lack of tension in the shoulders. Had injuries but still aspire that kind of loose power. Great structure and energy flow. Fa-jin must be hard to teach. Godspeed
@@KF1 thank you so much, my friend!
@@saberserpent1134Look into the history of Cheung Lai Chuen. It ain't pretty. Hakka peasant to the Godfather of the salt mafia, to the martial arts supervisor at Wampoa Military Academy. The Bak Mei Pai text is the ART OF WAR by Sun Tzu. It's not self defense, it's a resistance movement.
Thank you for making these videos, your style of Bak Mei has very good rise/sink spit/swallow energy. I would be interested in a detailed video about how your lineage makes the phoenix eye fist because there is so much variation in thumb placement between styles of kung fu in general but even between different lineages of Bak Mei.

Have you tried the Niu Wei shuang dao from LK Chen?
@@Cloudfencer Not yet, but it is definitely on my list! Thanks for watching!
Man, serious skillset. The hours and years are showing. It's very satisfying to watch. Problem here is that it's hard to find Chinese style with actual cutting experience. Even some books I have provoke more questions than answers. Maybe as students, we have to find the way rather than expecting it delivered.
@@KF1 Well said!
Good vid, man. My Japanese sword rack includes katana, jian, dao, longsword and cossack saber. Cool cutting footage and message.
@@KF1 Thanks Brother and thanks for watching!
@@saberserpent1134I watch almost all of them. Occurred to me after that you had on your "Sifu hat". This is a hard job, trying to talk straight brass to a porcelain internet. I would not be so well-mannered.
