Ambient Eurorack Jam - Marbelous (Mutable Instruments, Elektron, Dreadbox, Behringer, Korg, Doepfer)
As i did a DIY build of the Mutable Instruments Marbles today, i decided to take it on a test run. Marbles is described as a "Random Sampler", but it is probably easier to understand as a random sequencer. It combines a lot of different things in one, but most notably it is a more musical touring machine that can also act as a drum trigger generator.
The Marbles is controlling a couple of different things, first off it is controlling the Mutable Instruments Braids (clone), which is set to the Pluck oscillator. The Pluck oscillator utilizes delay lines to create a plucked string like sound. On longer settings, the delay lines will overlap, making it almost sound polyphonic, creating chord like textures. A second output is controlling the Doepfer Wasp Filter, making it "mark" the chords by jumping up and decaying. This makes it sound like a second chord voice at times.
The second output is also controlling the Dreadbox Hysteria VCO, which adds an ambient countermelody on top. Because of the build in quantiser and octave switch, it is possible to switch between high melody and a deep bass.
Everything is running through the Korg NTS-1 for effects, and is accompanied by my Elektron Model:Cycles drum machine. The model Cycles is an FM drum machine, which imo makes it perfect for ambient electronic.

Modular Jam - Musicality of two punks (Dual Atari Punk Consoles, Baby-8, Crave, Wasp Filter...)
Переглядів 5233 роки тому
I recently build a dual Atari Punk Console from a kit made by TearApartTapes, as well as a couple of other kits and some modules, and was surprised by the musicality of it when used in a proper modular context. I've watched plenty of APC demos before, and they always sounded like weird noise machines in these. While this is mostly also the core of them, when filtered, adding effects and sequenc...
Intense Modular Ambient Jam - uBraids, Dreadbox, Behringer, Doepfer, 4ms, Korg
Переглядів 1,7 тис.3 роки тому
A modular Jam with my (still fairly new) Eurorack setup, Behringer Crave, Dreadbox Typhon and Arturia Keystep. Sorry about the playing. As it is a jam, some of it isn't as tight as it could have been. A lot of stuff is going on here with the plucked setting on the uBraids (mutable instruments clone) being sequenced by the behringer, but receiving gate signal from two different outputs of the 4m...
Modular techno jam: Out of my Comfortzone - Dreadbox Chromatics, Behringer System 100, Doepfer, 4ms
Переглядів 3223 роки тому
I am getting out of my comfortzone and jamming some melodic techno. Everything except from the lead synth is coming from the modular Behringer Crave. The uBaids is used for the kick, the Hysteria is being ringmodulated by the Behringer 150 and the square wave of the crave (which is also the bass). The 150 is also doing the pumping modulation, providing noise and triggering the kick. Clock divis...
First Day with Modular Dreadbox Chromatics, Doepfer Wasp, Behringer System 100 + Crave and Ubraid
Переглядів 5843 роки тому
Today my first eurorack modules (with the exception for the uBraids) arrived. All of them are pretty cheap, but powerful modules from the Dreadbox Chromatic series, the Behringer System 100 series and a Doepfer a-124 Wasp. The Behringer Crave handles a lot of utilities that i have yet to add to my setup, and the Korg NTS-1 is handling the reverb. This has been my first experience with patching ...
Jamuary - Dreadbox Typhon, Mutable Instruments Braids, Behringer Crave, Korg NTS 1
Переглядів 3133 роки тому
A short Jam using the Mutable Instruments Braids clone (uBraids) on the Pluck setting, and Behringer Crave for arpeggiated textures. Because the Pluck algorithm uses delay lines for the sound, they form chord like sounds when on the right setting and playing an arpeggio. Both are run through the Korg NTS-1 for an Ensemble and Reverb effect, and on top of that i am improvising some melodies and ...
Ambient Jam - uBraids, Behringer Crave and Korg NTS-1

As i just got my first Eurorack Case and Module, i decided to try it out. Luckily the semi modular Behringer Crave got everything i needed to start jamming with, and modulating the parameters of the uBraids. The uBraids module is controlled by the keysteps CV and Gate output and running through the External Input of the Crave, to utilize its envelopes and filter. At the same time i had midi run...
Ambient Synth Jam: Behringer Crave Korg NTS 1 Dreadbox Typhon

An ambient synthesizer Jam using the Behringer Crave for lead, Korg NTS-1, with the Tim Shoebridge Drone oscilator playing a drone random notes adding effects to the Crave, and the Dreadbox Typhon playing bass.
Dreadbox Typhon Ambient Soundscape through old cassette player
Переглядів 1,3 тис.3 роки тому
A generative Ambient Soundscape Synthesizer Patch using my brand new Dreadbox Typhon going into an old cassette player. The patch utilizes all three modulators as Sample and Hold to make random and unexpected noises. It also utilises the build in Fx, first running through its bitcrusher, then the Shifter and lastly the Reflections Reverb. This thing is absolutely wonderful. No external effects ...

well played
Nice! I always wondered how they would sound if you tried to play them like a proper synth. Nice work.
WOW! I have the Crave...It does whatever you need it to do. I'm really seriously considering the Typhon. I see why it's so popular. Thanks!
NIce vid! Not heard of that Typhon you have there, it's got a nice 80s look
I'm truly shocked at how amazing it sounds with just the Crave and the NTS-1. Playing and note choice certainly have a lot to do with it but the raw tone of the Crave is definitely not what I expected -- and I was here to listen to the Typhon!
This is the type of demo i was looking for thank you :D
Nice work!
👏👏👏👏👏😁
Frohe Weihnachten 🎅🎄
Cool sounds!
Less is more best jam I ever heard on UA-cam . Supalike
Floating in my space suit at this moment 🤣 Great performance, the comparisions with Vangelis are right. The sound design is great!
Fantastic 🎹 🤟 Follow me & watch my synth jams 🤘
Simple and minimal beauty!! Well done!! I’ve just subbed!!
Very musical. Nice work.
Not even to mention the Arturia KeyStep
I literally have the same equipment setup minus the korg
i like that mixer, don't see it around much, it's a great value and form factor
Yeah, this mixer really makes my life easier! Having a simple summing mixer with all stereo inputs is underrated in a synth setup.
Lovely .. hints of Blade Runner..
Thanks a lot man, really Appreciate the kind words!
Amazing. ”Something simple is the key, only love can set us free.”
Thanks for the kind words, really appreciate it! This video seems to be getting a fair amount of trafic lately, i am wondering why?
Very nice,i just like it.👌
Thanks a lot man!
So the Korg NTS-1 is making this reverb sound ? :o
It is indeed!
sounds awesome. thank *YOU*
Nice. thank *YOU*

Really glad you like it!
Super-nice vibes 😊 I like it alot 👍
Thanks a lot!

This one is dope, nice sounding !
Thanks mate, glad you like it!
Wow 👍 great job 🔥🚀🎧
THanks a lot man, really appreciate it!
Another interesting video!!
Damn, you are quick haha
So great! Wish I could play like that!
Thanks a lot man, i really apreciate it! Might be time to do a more playing focuses jam instead the more sequence focused I've been doing lately
Excellent jam! A lot of sweet moments ! Nice work.
Thanks a lot man, i really appreciate it!
turned out very nice, maybe too short? : D unfortunately the basses are missing ... thanks for sharing :D
Ey man, this was just a quick demonstration i made. Originally i wanted to keep it private, but i thought "might as well not". I am currently exporting a properly recorded video using the atari punk consoles for a proper full length jam. It will be up in an hour or so, to check that out for something longer with the bass in there ;)
Sweet jam! Nice modular sounding demo. Atari rules 4ever^^
Thanks man, a full length jam with proper recording will be up in an hour or so!
Damn! Sounds nice!
Thanks man, i appreciate the support as always!
this is so incredible positive thank you for sharing my Friend :)
WoW ! Inspiring atmospheric music !!!!
Thanks a lot man, i really appreciate it! Hopefully i'll get to record some more jams in the near future, but currently times are busy.
Great VIdeo! I see that you doesent connect the Typhon with Midi cable? Did you send Midi over USB in to Typhon? Or did you just run the Typhons sequencer without clocking?
Thanks a lot man! Yeah, i just ran the sequencer without clocking as nothing really needed to be timed too precisely.
@@divinginspace9624 I like that! Very nice. Keep going.
Great bit of music.
Hello. What's the stuff called like EURORACK👋😊Is it some preamp or comp.?
It is actually a line mixer with 8 stereo channels. It doesn't do any EQ, just panning and leveling. It is pretty handy when working with multiple stereo synths/signals.
Bravo 👏🏾
Thanks a lot man, i apreciate it!
Really digging this. Well played.
Thanks a lot, i really appreciate it!
Gorgeous jam. I'm amazed at how great that baby Korg sounds!
Thanks a lot man! The NTS-1 is great, both as a synth and an fx unit!
@@divinginspace9624 I ordered one before this video was done playing 😅 I'm very excited! I hadn't heard about the SDK. Thanks very much for sharing!
@@glenesis I am sure you won't regret it! Btw, in this video i am using the Tim Shoebridge Drone Oscillator, highly recommended user oscillator!
@@divinginspace9624 very sad i Can not download user oscillator with my New laptop on m'y nts1....Can not figure out why
@@108julo that really sucks, most of the fun is in the user oscillators and user fx... What did you upgrade to?
Dang, so pretty !!! Crave sounds sick
Actually, the Crave is mostly used as a utility in this jam. The actual sound (with exception of some filtrering) comes from the Mutable Instruments Braids (the plucked string sound) and the Dreadbox Hysteria. The Crave does sound really nice though, especially when paired with a good reverb. I have some other videos using it as a sound source.
@@divinginspace9624 gotcha! subbed!
So chiiiiill I love it
Thanks a lot, i really appreciate it!
You'll make a case for the chip??
I am not totally sure yet. This is a prototype that has a bunch of flaws (maybe because i had to switch out some parts as i didn't have them laying around). I am considering designing a PCB to make it into a proper eurorack module
Ahh, the good ol 555 chip.. Chain enough of those together and you'd create SkyNet.
One day, i will take over the world with 555 Timers alone
Beautiful sound and synthesis !!
I've looked at getting a few different things, and I keep coming back to the Crave. I have a Werkstatt, and I just need another module, for variety. I'm not a synth player, but I'm trying to get stuff that's not software based. Thanks!
I absolutely love my crave. Without it, my journey into eurorack would have been a whole lot harder. I think it is hard to find more synth for the money, though the Werkstatt does seem great too! In this video, i am not using the oscillator of the crave though, but just using it as a utility tool for a bunch of different things. I highly recommend it for any kind of modular/semi modular setup, but do keep in mind that it needs some external effects to really shine.
@@divinginspace9624 Absolutely! I have a TC Flashback, and a cheap Chorus, right now, but I'm looking at buying a Shift Line A+ Astronaut 3..it looks perfect for this kind of set up. Thanks, so much.
The music dreams are made of. Thank you.
