Luca, you asked me what I’d like to see next time: I’d like to listen to and learn from the footage of your team. Their story. Subtle moments on prep. Garage work. Those moments when you, your crew decide when and how it’s going to unfold. Perhaps your training. We need not a full length documentary. Just a few minutes of your posse, interspersed into the camaraderie of the fleeting moments before you launch. I know you as a leader riding Mavericks look out for others. What is the planning that goes into sharing resources, responsibility and care for the next person taking the ride. Sure, the viewers of UA-cam can click away, but there are people who like the story. Very best, Toad.

The driver's jacket got hooked and stuck around the throttle. Eventually the jacket flew off (11:41) and the ski stopped. Chaos!

Love to see how passionate & stoked you guys are about surfing these monsters. I get scared of 8ft waves, lol.. Question: what can be a reason for surfers to decide not to drop in ? I am new at surfing and don't quite get what drives 'm to go or abbord. I thought the guy who ate the lip would've gotten seriously hurt, i think he bounced off the surface and flew 4ft in the air ... you could like see him in between the foam... Glad he's okay.
Great question. As you can imagine there are layers of complexity when it comes to riding these waves. Driver and rider are doing their best to navigate and read the ever changing conditions. Sometimes what looks like a good wave changes once it hits the reef or has residual turbulence, wind chop, or any other undesirable variable. A last second, "Kick out" or ejection can save the surfer from a violent beating. Hope this helps and thank you for tuning in!

It's fun to watch the progression over the years. Safety gear advances allowing for them to start moving closer to the peak from the shoulder. It'll be fun to watch when they finally go from flirting with it to getting into it.
