This is a slightly tweaked version of the original video to give credit to nice folks at MB Financial Bank for their major sponsorship of this event. This is very fast motion but includes both the north and south loops so you can plan this year's ride if this is your first time. More at YellowMobile.net. The great music is... Father's Day Ride

I rode out to visit my folks in Michigan on Father's Day taking a short-cut across the lake by ferry. Unfortunately, Cammie was napping as we came into Milwaukee so we're missing some video of the city. My thanks to the musicians... This is the first installment of an ongoing experiment called the Virtual Bike Path. It is meant to give people a tour and some helpful hints about the bike paths around the Fox Valley in Illinois.. It will probably be revised many times as the project grows.

Think the cop overreacted a bit? Even if it was something that shouldn't be on a bike trail. Cutting you off like that doesn't seem the best approach.
Great vid👏
Do you know the original music that this song came from? Like, the instrumental that starts it
The cops were scared to death.
Geez the Cops stopped you like you were riding around with grenade in your hand
I wish I could afford one. But no chance on a disabled vets income *LOL*
Where is the audio?
Hi! Nice video and nice places to ride! Forza! 😉👍👌🤙
Looks like mom wanted to make sure Chelsey reached the altar. Is this at Lake Tahoe?
2013 is getting to be a long time ago. Do you still live out Geneva way and do you still ride your velomobile?
Hello Mr. Neanderthal in a Space Ship. I've just watched a few of your videos and have to say that I admire your sense of composition, particularly with your choice of music. I've noticed there aren't any recent videos on this channel and hope that you haven't given-up on video recording. Also, I hope you are still interested in velomobiles. As you must also be aware, the YellowMobile.net site is no longer there. On a more ominous note, when you pulled YellowMobile into the farm's driveway and the screen faded to black, I knew it was all over for the 2013 Thanksgiving Day turkey.
This is a great video! It reminds me of my own son when he was little. Isaac must be a big boy, now. Do you still have your YellowMobile?
SORRY FOR SAYING THIS BUT YOU SHOULD HAVE SLAMMED INTO THAT ASSHOLE!! I BET THAT HE WAS CONCERNED FOR YOUR SAFETY WAHAHAHAHA LOL
🤩🤩🤩
Videos are more enjoyable to watch when they're displayed at the actual speed they where recorded. But, if you're at a stand still for a long period of time or a long uphill section. Otherwise let the individuals viewing the videos enjoy what you saw along your adventure.
That was fun.
Thanks for the music.
Awesome ride
awesome bike paths near that river and park
07:45 A Dutch windmill. Feels like home (I am Dutch). Where was this footage taken? I think Illinois/ Minnesota?
It looks like northern Illinois, from the seal on the police vehicle, which says “Fox Valley Park Dist.” and “Seal of the State of Illinois”. At first I thought it might be southwest Michigan, when I saw the windmill, but I thought to back up and look at the cop car. Not sure if anybody is monitoring this channel for comments.
Always good to know when officers are willing to inform their colleagues about you and velomobiles in general so that there most likely won't be any issues in the future.
There shouldn't be in the first place if they weren't idiots. Driving on the bike trail like a moron smh.
This video sucks. it's titled cops and velomobiles. right at 9 minutes long and the only enteraction with police is where they turned in their siren and stopped you. no recording of the police. Just less than 30 seconds of you putting up captions on the screen. you should have titled this video, "velomobiles and the drivers who don't know how to make an interesting video". I hope you improve in the future.
"nice guy" NO that was abuse of power. get an attorney and sue for harassment..! when the city has to pay a large settlement, this will stop.
Yeah that guy was kind of a stupid prick huh driving on the trail like that smh
Thx for a super long video where literally nothing happens before and after (and pretty much during) 4:30.
bel velomobile strano che la polizia ti ha fermato non conoscono il mezzo?
When I first started watching, I said "that looks like the Fox River Trail", then "Hey, that looks like downtown Batavia, Prairie Path Cycles is right there" Then I realized, hey, I have seen you riding around before :) Thing looks cool on the road!
Same - So funny!
Expecting my Mango mid June, 2015, great vid, great music, great content' at last a velo vid with no techno-hop brain mashing soundtrack, cool !
did you build this? I want 1
These things look like 3 wheeled pedal powered streamliners to me. Now if you can build me one to look like Breedlove's Spirit of America, I might just consider it...Cool!
Damn!!!! That looks like so, so much fun.... Be safe !!
Why u are scared of cops? That is a bike I think?
Maybe they are not authorized to drive on the public road?
He has a Kilo behind the seat man.
MegaKameleon123 A lot of cops don't know what it is and think it has a motor. It is also allowed on roads and sidewalks because it meets the standards of a bike.
MrJonttu Official why you are illiterate
beautiful ! great music.
Why do citizens address police officers as sir? Did we citizens all enlist in some invisible fascist militaristic service organization where we all must subserviently address our "superiors" as "Sir"? Through four years of being in the military during the "Vietnam conflict," I came to the point of avoiding "Sir" on any and every occasion where I thought I could get away with it, including failing to salute. My own little meaningless protest. (It wasn't meaningless to me, obviously. I should add that I never even came close to Vietnam or combat.) .
Because you show respect that way. Same reason I use "sir" when addressing anyone else that deserves it. My grandfather, father, uncle...etc. Its not a military thing... Sir and mam are just respectful prefixes Btw.. Thank you for your service.
kens97sto171 It's interesting to note that police in some areas of the country show respect to "civilians" by not tasing, clubbing, or shooting them. It is better, obviously, if both police and citizens (not "civilians," as the police in their militaristic pretentiousness characteristically call us) drop the "Sir" posturing and simply do honest and forthright business with one another. It seems to be going in the other direction, however. .
Nice ride and beautiful scenery!
Walks like a duck, quacks like a duck....
this makes me wish i had 8k to drop on a bicycle:(
***** electric powered velomobile > gokart . I own a Kt100 go kart and velomobiles are more fun. I also race super sport bikes and autocross my sport cars.
Thank for the ride, reminds me of river scape west of Dayton Oh
I'm trying to find a route from Fort Wayne, IN to the GAP Trail which starts in Pittsburg, Pensivania. Anyone got any suggestions?
Old 40 route 40 as much as you can to Pittsburgh
Frank Smith Thanks.
How much is one of these Velomobiles? They look interesting.
DarkComet360 They range from around $5,000 for a kit to over $10,000 for one with headlights, tail lights, horn, turn signals, etc. You can also add electric assist for hillier parts of the world. That may seem like a lot to many people but if you buy it to replace a car, like I am, it can pay for itself in a little over a year. Check out pedalyourselfhealthy.org/Velos/VeloComparisonChart.html for a good comparison chart. The one in this video looks like either a Mango or a BlueVelo Quest or Strada.
I don't see you or your friend on the US velomobile map. Its neat to see the growing population of velomobiles in the US. www.zeemaps.com/171479/ Please introduce yourself at the velomobile form at bentrider forums. Intitally I thought you had a quest but now I see that you have a strada.
do you post at bentrider online? We have a velomobile forum there if you don't already post there. Lots of information and modifications and such for the quest.
hmmm I might have to visit st Charles and bring my quest to ride around the area. Looks like nice trails there.
are you doing 2014?
I wish the streets were always like this :)
Cammie, where do you and it live? It's beautiful there and way cool for riding.
We live in St. Charles, IL, USA. I agree, it is a fantastic place to ride.
Cammie N me Are you serious? I live in South Elgin Illinois and I'm building my own velomobile. I hope to see you on the trail.
Cammie N me I know there's not much hills out your way, but how do you deal with them?
Krasnaja Zvezda low gear and an electric motor
After viewing another one of your great videos,I was thinking.Hey why not get all these cops an electric velomobiles for their beat! Think of the savings to the tax payer.I say electric since the cops need speed at times.Ha
I'm glad you're enjoying the rides too. I think that may be a bit of a hard sell to the local police but hey, the times they are a changin.
It would help with their muffin top's as well.
Hey, we love this video and may want to feature it on the BTD website...would you be OK with that? Pls email me ethan (at) activetrans DOT org Would love to see if that is possible, thanks much!
... but not in a sexual way." ;0)
Tee-hee! Cammie says, "You turn me on!"
Heck, for reason I'm not entirely sure of, I found myself entranced by this vid'. Can someone say exactly where it was filmed? Looked like some nice scenery for a spot of velomobiling (is that a word?) ;0)
G'day, I posted a question on your blog, thought I'd post it here too as I don't know if the blog thing worked properly. I'm wanting to ask you about how you drilled your Sony case to stop fogging. I couldn't see on the pics exactly where you drilled. You mentioned you drilled upwards. Did you drill just above that circular bit of plastic in the lens cap that surrounds the lens, going through that black foam looking ring, so that air would go directly onto the lens, or just under that? Thanks!
