No they didn’t. The record labels did by not signing good artists anymore. We don’t control R&B, Hip-Hop, or even Jazz anymore. Rock and Roll is long gone. I know it’s easy to always blame black people for everything. But no sister, R&B was not destroyed by black people. It was the record labels and the genre not being dictated by black people. Even former artist like Amerie should still be singing putting out albums. But no label is going to give her a major label deal. Ashanti, Keisha Cole. So many 2000’s singers can still put out quality songs. Instead they sign average singers and many non black people to do R&B now. That’s the major problem with it today and why it lost its soul and energy.
