Character Design Process From Start To Finish
Woah i never knew there something called fresnel effect
hi jared i really like your channel, thank you for making such good content. Jari i have a question: could you tell me how could a concept artist find work, i live in south africa and i will be done studying art at watts atelier after 4 years, but i wanted to work on my network right now. so that when the time comes i have people, what would you advice. still waiting for a new video🤕
Best 😊
Name it mortal khan
Mortal Kombat is so cool
Thanks it helped me a lot!!
Merci beaucoup ! ( Je crois que vous êtes français )
Do you know are there any remote jobs for junior concept artists? I couldn't find any.
Your videos are so helpful. I learned so much from you. Thank you💛
i just needed number 2
Do you think I can compete with the world when i'm from A not so fancy country, i'm 23 years old, about to be 24, never went to any art school, i'm A self taught and I attend online courses and studying from some art books that you recommend. For now I'm still draw on papers and sketchbook with pencils and hopefully one day I can get one of those drawing tablet so that I can transition into digital art and start to improve more because I want to work in the entertainment industry especially for video games.
Thanks for the insight! Currently transitioning from my in house jr 2D art role at an indie studio into freelance 2d game art. The point about being on the same understanding with your art director was definitely a point of friction for me personally, mainly when the studio got really busy since our team was very small, with my art director having multiple roles outside of just my supervisor, found my expectations of my responsibilities are and what they actually were sliped more when they were busiest.
Hi will this tutorial be hard for an older man looking to learn to render materials ?
After having spent 1 week refraining to listening any music, i do confirm what is said in this video is totally TRUE. Many thanks for the tip. Let's stop music. Music is an entertainment for silly people, while reading is the entertainment for the smart people.... Are you silly? then play music - Are you smart? then grab a book.
Only just come across your channel, and its exactly what I've been looking for. being able to apply textures to pretty much any shape/ object.
Damn, the first tip is amazing! I've never thought of that!
I'm looking for a new job now - I've sent my CV to different companies today but actually I'm a little bit afraid of not being hired, even though I believe I can provide good quality pictures. So I'm watching your videos now, you're inspiring me and I think till night I'll make one more good art to add to my portfolio. Thank you! :)
Is there anywhere I can buy this tutorial in 2024? The link provided points to a closed course.
Hello, I’m late to this video but it really gave me so much valuable insight into this career. I feel more confident and ready because of this video. Thank you!
My tip is: definitely don't pick up the phone as soon as you wake up in the morning (don't go on social media -ig, twitter etc) It is the most open hours of the day, it poisons the brain with useless information or bad news. And how you start your day is how you continue it! ☀️
You are absolutely right about what you said, especially about the music. As a very sensitive person, I thought it was my own obsession and finally someone agrees with me! Listening to music while working isolates me in a bad way, both from myself and from the environment, which triggers my depression
I want you to know that you are not alone! I'm trying to find a balance too. Sometimes I get too caught up in drawing and I fall behind socially 🥲
thank you so much
which tutorial is this one on your site.
Very helpful thanks
He should be named: Jouishine
What program are you using
Adobe Photoshop
It seems the tutorial isn't availble anymore. Where can I get it?
how i learned to draw from my imagination: i used a reference
Super litty tip 😎👌✨🩵
This is very encouraging advice! For a while I felt crippled by the idea of having to be able to do multiple things at an expert level to be considered hireable. I'm glad to know it's okay for me to be versatile but really skilled in one area of concept art to get the job.
Honestly, creating iterations is my favorite part of doing Concept Art. I love exploring what things _could_ look like and how they could work, and then fine tuning things to reach a final conclusion. It's amazing seeing a character or design come together like that.
Thanks for the insight! There aren't enough experience stories and advice of being a concept artist, let alone from junior positions. I expect my first job would be a lot of mentoring and drawing what's asked of me. I think I ought to prepare my portfolio based on those types of work and not just my of character designs.
It helps but you gotta learn the guide lines to understand how to draw certain parts of the body first
Were can I buy the tutorial 😢
He looks so freakin cool!! I absolutely love all the details in the design and I can just imagine all the animations looking and feeling so fire while playing this character! 🔥🔥
Amazing Process of Perfect Character Design. I wanted to know, After this process, is it easier to animate this character in toon boom or something similar
Literally this is the most basic method
Such a dopeee design , he looks 🔥fire !! I can already imagine his combos🤣
Ahahah thank you so much!
ai image imagination generator. allows everyone, even those who don't have artistic skills, to create images from their imagination. although the results of AI drawings from people who have no artistic talent are not as good as those of artists. but for the first time art is free. and you don't need talent to make art. ai frees many people's imaginations from the shackles of the talents of artists. and democratize art for everyone (it's free) unlike in the past where paintings cost more than houses.🏠
That’s cognitive drawinf
De toute beauté
I leave myself way too much time, I often put things for later or start several illustrations at the same time😭, this video gave me a slap! it helped me to clear up a lot of points. Thank you Jari💙
Oh dang, I love your first tip! 😱 Thats such a good way to think especially if you wanna create the best concept, it gives you a little fire under your booty cause you are competing against a way better artistin your brain and it will definitely motivate you to design better 😤💖
Thank you so much for the feedback as always! I hope it will be helpful to you
This is so creative you need mor subs man
the fact that I hesitate to ask in the previous short xD thanks again
I stumbled on your channel by accident because I was thinking about buying one of your tutorials on artstation. :,D It's sick how fast you improved. i have been struggling with getting better at art, especially rrealism, for the past 5 years and I just don't get realism ( with that I mean realism like in old master paintings, Rembrandt, Sargent, Hudson River school artists or MtG art) at all. Because there are so many people grasping this way of painting very fast I really wonder if there is something wrong with my brain. How did you understand realism that fast? Especially with your lighting and material rendering? I think at this point I have tried most of the things you get recommended from books, courses, mentorships and studies. I am really at my wits end. :/ Also, do you offer mentoring? Thank you for the insight of your journey =)
Thank you for taking the time to comment! I feel you! Painting realistically is hard. What helped me was simply to practice daily, be very observing of real life with colors and values and doing still life studies. I think my tutorial on materials could help you a lot. Yeah I can do mentoring if you have the budget for it. Maybe direct feedbacks would help figure out better how to get the results you desire
Wonderful love those quick tutorials!
Criminally underrated, keep up the great job!
awesome thank you !
