It's a new fantasy setting that the mod will be based in. There is likely to be an EU5 LOTR, but the CK3 team is focused on CK and as for myself, my team and "darkest light" from this podcast are going to be making a mod based on the fantasy world we are worldbuilding as we speak on my discord server. It will be focused on having unique fantasy races and new spins on some classics. I have yet to make an official announcement for it, but that will come in time on this channel

I am glad to hear such encouraging words. Every time someone says such kind things it redoubles my determination to see this project through! We have a #worldbuilding channel on my discord server where folks can take a look at what we are doing and offer their own opinions. I will begin a proof of concept for this eu5 mod in CK3 once the next dlc drops, so I will have something to show folks when I make an official announcement for this mod

Cultures in EU5 seem based often as not on languages. I'm sure you onow more than I do about Somalia, however I would be surprised to know that the region was historically so united along linguistic and traditional lines

I assume you mean as a concept for our planned Fantasy mod? It's a rather clever idea on your part. I'll need to see how possible it is to spawn ABCs and extraterretorial nations through events, but at worst I will definitely be setting some up at game start thanks to your suggestion. Once the next CK3 DLC comes out I'll be working on a proof of concept for the mod in CK3 and I'll represent some of those bandits with landless adventurers, hehe

@@PardonerJauffre in 1337 there most definitively was also the Norse settlements in Greenland still around. Which will be two Locations, I'm guessing. Not many people and with conditions worsening so that the population starts going down to the point of being wiped out.

@PardonerJauffre if anything, I'm surprised how many locations (and provinces) Greenland gets. Hopefully, the conditions get really harsh, so it's basically a useless money sink for those trying to find an alternate route to the Americas.

It depends I suppose. The main point of what we were discussing however, was that clan government is specifically Arabic/Islam themed

@@PardonerJauffre The clan government is obviously meant to model the prevalence of polygamy and cousin marriages in the muslim world. This is why vassals expect marriage alliances, because the assumption is that you'll have a large surplus of daughters available for marriage alliances. So I don't think it makes any sense to have clan governments in the Harad if there's no polygamy. I think all of the Harad and Rhun religions should practice polygamy, currently most don't, which is inconsistent with their clan government.
