@@occommuter Well San Manuel is having their Native American Powwow at Cal State San Bernardino so my mom was all, "maybe they did a rain dance." Then I told her that would have rained them out of their own event, lol. I wanted to go check it out but I'm not feeling too great.
So before you'd just take the train from Orange to Tustin and then bike the rest to work?
@@kettlekorn471 Yeah I think I did it a few times and then once I decided to ride the whole way I was hooked, I think I will do some train videos soon we can overshoot point B and ride back
U ride like a little girl
Here I go posting multiple comments again. Have you maybe thought of getting a day off side gig doing food delivery on an ebike? Ebike food delivery channels get a lot of views and subscribers.
I appreciate the comments and like the suggestions and interactions it’s part of the fun for me. I think it’s a great idea, I was thinking about getting a second job it’s gotten very expensive here in Orange County, hmmm, I’m going to talk to the wife and look into it. I’d just need some baskets and a cooler box thing.
Have you ever done an in depth review of your bike? You know a walk around pointing out key facts.
Only once but not a close up in depth, maybe I’m due for a Lectric XP 3.0 7000 mile review?
I feel like the sidewalk is much Safer for you anyways bro!! 😎👏👏👏
Yeah me too and actually there’s a lot more to see, you get to see more details and people and more obstacles to maneuver through, in the beginning of the channel there was a lot of sidewalks.
@@occommuter Yess I could tell that there was Definitely lots of Sidewalks in the beginning!! I was watching your video and it Looked like there was Like SO many Trees and Phone Polls Built into the Sidewalks as well? lol be careful bro!!
Got my bike! I may run into you sometime! thanks for the vids and helping me learn more about the routes
@@GG-gh6hr Awesome man! good to hear and no problem, thank you for watching my videos and making comments, have fun!
when did it rain? thats crazy
@@dank9288639 Yeah man, This morning, I’ll publish the video tomorrow but yeah it was raining when I woke up puddles and everything in Orange and around North Main, 0% chance it said, just a rogue cloud
Thought she was just calling in to check if you were okay. But I guess she needed groceries...lol.👍

@@Storm177 very true
What did you do with your bike when you went into Stater's? Take it in with you or lock it up somewhere?
why do i like this
it will get better just getting started
That is cool that Bristol has separated bike lanes in that area. I wonder if that's something they put in for the Mater Dei kids.
@@kettlekorn471 Yes very nice and probably so, thanks
I like the idea of review episodes every once in a while. If you're doing reaction videos I'd want to hear your thoughts on something like this: ua-cam.com/video/d4Hi4rXe3lA/v-deo.htmlsi=ISBWtJbwuc4aujuT Since you probably have an interesting perspective given that you cycle so often.
I’m sorry if you end up seeing this comment written a few times. I wrote it and then I didn’t see it so I wrote it over a few times.

I'm always afraid to go up or down curbs on my Lectric because of the metal stand underneath.
@@ELECTRICBIKEDIYLIFE yeah man it’s risky, mine is beat up from that, along with my pedals, and my derailleur guard
If anything, at least the POV of your videos make me more cognizant of the hazards bicyclists face and how drivers react (or fail to) to them.👍
Part 1 and Part 2 were the same? I think the night time lighting you are using works well in this video. Some of the light streaks are exaggerated, but all in all looks decent.
@@tonygod70 Thank you I appreciate the feedback. Part 1 is 30 fps with low light enhancement wide view rocksteady stabilization and no adjustments to light or color, part 2 is 60 fps, can’t use light enhancement, on 60 fps, ultra wide view rocksteady+, and light and color I adjusted because 60fps doesn’t let enough light in, I’m still learning just a beginner at this point
Do you pack an extra battery or do you recharge the bike at work?
@@Ciangi87 I recharge at work but do pack an extra battery as well, the battery is only 10amp hr.
@@occommuter I would love to ride my Xp3.0 to work but I work way to far so I ride it after work. It’s a great bike.
@@Ciangi87 I am very fortunate that I am able to commute on my bike to work and to also have the good weather to support this as well and yeah this bike has surpassed my expectations, I’ve put this bike to the test for
The streets are kinda dead even in downtown. You guys have some of the best weather in the world, you should be enjoying it.
@@me12722 Yeah, for sure. The weather even in its extremes isn’t too extreme, I can pretty much bike year round, even though it rains occasionally it’s not too bad.
How are your recording your rides?
@@dgreene3209 I use a DJI Osmo Action 4 and a GoPro Hero 10 sometimes, always on a GoPro Chesty Mount.
It's too bad you don't live closer to where I am. I could build you an ebike out of my spare parts you'd just have to supply a long range battery. I wouldn't charge you anything but I think it would make a good video. I have one almost built all the way. It's got a 750w Bafang mid drive on it. I'm not sure how tall you are because the frame is a little bigger. I'm 6' 3" but I'm now physically too large for it. I also have a smaller frame from another ebike. I could just do a parts swap. The cool thing about the Bafang is that the controller is built into the motor so there's less wire mess to deal with. It doesn't have fat tires just regular 26x2.125 tires.
Sorry man, I just saw this comment, I think it would definitely make a cool video, I’m 5’9”, if this bike dies I’m going to have to figure something out, my back up right now is a pink beach cruiser not electric haha
was there on Saturday night celebrating my friends bday
that’s awesome I really wanted to go but never made it, next year for sure!
Gosh, I wake up early too, but I can't stay awake past 10:30 these days. 🥱😴 Props to you and your stamina to go biking that late.
The camera doesn't look shaky at all.
Good times!
@@ocloko69 heck yeah I love Santa Ana, I wish I could have made it to the celebration
The lighting was great! Whatkind of head lamp are you using?
Thanks, It’s a Coast XPH30r, the camera is decent in low light, I bought it for the dark morning rides, much better than the gopro, DJI Osmo Action 4, no light adjustments on this video, part 2 is uploading but i did some that video
What is so infamous about Garfield?
I guess infamous may not be the best description, I know that street goes through a few neighborhood gangs on each side, sometimes I talk with people I work with who are Santaneros about different neighborhoods that are more activated then others, so that leaves an impression on me, but I don't have any stories that would support it being infamous. It is a nice neighborhood as are most the neighborhoods in Santa Ana regardless of any perceived threat or danger.
Do you use just the Throttle? Or do you Pedal When you need to.
@@JustinTheDrummer-WDJJB I mostly pedal but in this video I was using the throttle more than usual, kind of a sidewalk mode

If it makes you feel safe, do it. People who get annoyed by the red light thing are usually people who don't use a bike for transportation.
Btw I think I preferred the first mile, low light enhancement.
@@GG-gh6hr that’s great, I appreciate the feedback, that helps a lot, then I can process these videos faster, 60 frames obviously takes twice as long and is really only necessary for stabilizing or quality slow motion clips
I'll be starting to commute soon on an ebike, these videos are super helpful, not to mention a nice background watch while I work

@@occommuter cheering for you! ill tune in!
@@GG-gh6hr Thanks I appreciate it, It’s been awesome so far.
Going off your comment about cars going fast on Main St by Murphy, just before it goes under the 55, do you prefer faster car traffic so you can go faster too? (if you have a bike lane) or just lower speeds like along the downtown areas of Main St? (with no bike lane.) I figure they engineer the higher street speeds in sections with fewer lights and driveways into parking lots. Or you you find the faster car traffic unsafe?
@@kettlekorn471 Honestly I kind of like the chaos of Main and getting into tricky situations that require skilled biking in traffic but it’s dangerous and sometimes I just need to relax. The long stretches with no stops and speeding cars are nice until someone passes by close and fast. Bike lanes definitely make me more at ease with the passing cars. That section on south Main isn’t narrow but it feels like it.
If we didn't know any better, we'd think you were just starting off to work at the beginning.😂
@@kettlekorn471 Haha yeah that’s what I was thinking too, kind of a hum drum ride I wouldn’t normally publish but I know sometimes I just want something random to watch on the weekend so I went ahead and put it out. Hopefully I get something more adventurous or exciting this weekend.
What Kind of GoPro Mount do you use for your videos?
@@JustinTheDrummer-WDJJB I use the GoPro Chesty mount
just wanted to comment to help your UA-cam journey! Good luck. what kind of bike is this?
@@coleture3 That’s awesome, I really appreciate that, very cool
13:15 a lot of times the concrete mixer trucks and the gravel/sand trucks use Tustin Ranch Road to travel between the 5 Fwy and Warner to get to/from their concrete/gravel plants on Construction Circle (the industrial area just east of Jamboree.) They spill a little gravel/sand at times. BTW: cool to see you take the Peters Canyon Regional Park trails. I haven't been there in years. Ironically, part of the park burned like back in 2017 in another wildfire. EDIT: 21:37 Oh okay... that's what your're talking about. I think the sand/gravel in this part is due to the CitySide Fiber working on the road for the past 4-5 months. They're contracted with the city for a fiber optic network throughout Tustin. If you look at the road, there's tons of patches, both big and small. Eventually they'll either seal them over or resurface to make it smooth. That's probably the sand/gravel in this area.
@@kettlekorn471 Ah okay, yeah it’s really bad right there, danger zone for the tires
Something about commuting by bike in such a bike hostile place is so badass
That plane looked like a water dropper.
@@ELECTRICBIKEDIYLIFE Yeah you’re probably right
What helmet light do you use?
It’s the Coast XPH30R, rechargeable, 3 settings, flood or beam adjustment, fits around my helmet with an elastic band, it’s awesome.
Wow, Capcut does a good job of brightening stuff up. I'm starting to think I should have paid for it and not Powerdirector.
@@ELECTRICBIKEDIYLIFE Yeah I’m using the free version right now because the pro version I was paying for ($9.99) got discontinued because I didn’t have money in the bank, haha. but I make my own color and light adjustments however capcut pro does have an option that does it automatically which I’ll use if I’m in a hurry

I was curious about morning videos vs afternoon videos, there is a clear preference. Not much to see on these dark mornings. Maybe this is when I should be talking more
Now I'm not complaining just making an observation about where I live because I know the people affected by the fire are way worse off then me right now. I live in San Bernardino and the air quality currently is really bad because of the fire. I haven't been able to ride for a few days because of it.
I can imagine with the heat and smoke in the air, no bueno. I don’t blame you brother
They could design some amazing tree covered bike paths in Orange County. That way you get to enjoy paradise 🤣
You should ask your doctor. There is a case that could be made, maybe this guy would give you that perscription: ua-cam.com/video/WqqN24yhAPA/v-deo.htmlsi=tPaajUVOPElF0s_b
