How Joe Scarborough killed his intern
Переглядів 17 тис.5 років тому
President Donald Trump suggested in a tweet this morning that frequent critic Joe Scarborough, the host of the MSNBC's Morning Joe, killed his intern in 2001. When Scarborough was a Republican congressman for Florida, his intern, Lori Klausutis, was found dead in his Florida district office. There is no proof that Scarborough had anything to do with it.

I just came across this video today. I'm one of those fans who loved Shemp from the first time I saw him & it always bothered me a bit why he would get such a bad rap at being "Curly's replacement." I love Curly, but Shemp was a legend in his own right, I'm glad there are videos like this to keep his memories alive and that the fame & popularity of the Stooges will live on, forever....

Poor Bill... A lot of people (even life long church goers) don't realize Christianity is not about religion, but rather a relationship. It's possible for someone to run with misunderstandings about that also. I've heard people rant "F the Law & F those books!" but Christ said He didn't come to destroy the Law or the Prophets, but to fulfill them. That puts a totally different spin on the Old Testament. ... People flabbergasted over Bill Hicks acceptance of Jesus are going to face that exact same door one day.

I think he exaggerated his intimate relationship with Jimmy. I thought it was odd how in his book he goes into detail about sleeping with girls, but when it comes to him and Jimmy supposedly sleeping together, he only says Jimmy gave him a hug and pec on the lips and that they slept together in the same bed but didn't actually have sex. Another thing that struck me as odd was how he accuses people of being "users" of Jimmy but then admits that he was using Jimmy himself. I found his holier-than-thou and sanctimonious attitude off-putting.

I have the same feeling, he also dismissed all the relationships Dean had with girls as Dizzy, who in her book confessed that they had a strong love relatioonship

I grew up with Shemp and Curly shorts so I never felt like I had to choose sides, I loved them both for different reasons. Shemp was the perfect replacement for Curly, the man knew how to make people laugh. If you haven't seen his solo shorts they're well worth your time. He was a very talented man.

Hicks was a definitive spiritualist who adamantly opposed the concept of Christianity. Like the Dalai Lama: I like your Christ very much but your Christian’s not so much. But he was also raised in the Texas Methodistl church so after battling cancer & being at deaths door maybe he did succumb to the temptation of an afterlife esp if he was surrounded by family praying & a minister whispering sweet nothings.

When I was little, about 7 or 8 in 1959, the Steve Allen Shiw was my favorite thing in teevee. Tom Posten, Louis Nye, Don Knotts, Bill Dana--a cast of ingenious comedians. Allen was way way ahead of his time.

"Meeting of Minds" is one of the greatest shows in the history of television. They are hard to find and only a few of them appear on UA-cam but they're worth watching. The most amazing thing about them is that Steve wrote the dialog and the opening theme music.

They seem to omit the fact that Harold only had half of a right hand. Note that he hides his right hand throughout because he was not wearing his prosthetic thumb and index finger as this was a surprise. He somehow lost his hand in an accident - it may have been the bomb accident where the talk here is only of him nearly losing his vision. If you watch the part where Harold's wife comes out, you can see that as he goes to hug her, his right hand consists only of 3 fingers. The amazing thing about it all is that he did ALL of his movie stunts with a skin colored glove to mask his missing fingers. Read up on Harold Lloyd, it's an interesting story.

11/8/2023 Quote from Steve Allen: "This show going to go on for ever" (said early in this video), and it has with the same title and basic format, since 1954 (nearly 70 years). I wonder if he ever realized his prophetic statement would come true like it did? I got to relive a few times in front of the TV, laughing until my sides hurt, today. What always got me was when he would have his laughing fits, That's when my sides hurt the most. Oh ya, remember his funny phone calls? How about the time he crawled into a cement truck? OH the memories. ;-)

Was I a fan? I used to get tickets on a rotating basis for the syndicated show he did '68-'71. He did it at TAV which became the Merv Griffin venue. Referred to as the Filmways show, though it was broadcast live on Ch.5 in L.A. Even managed to get picked in the audience once and got a $100 Spiegel gift certificate. Bought my Hohner Melodica because he made it look easy to play. When he passed, somehow his obit stayed in my work locker for the next 8 years when I left that job. Yea, I guess he was an influence.

This is excellent. I really enjoyed it. I think I saw Steve Allen twice. In the early 1990s, he was one of the hosts of a downtown Los Angeles film series in old 1920 movie palaces called “last remaining seats.” 10 years later around 2003 I think I saw him at a book signing where he had published memoirs or something like that. What a career.

This is a very interesting story, as there is a similar one regarding sam kinison's death. just before his passing , he was heard by a friend of his to be having a conversation where he was saying. " i dont want to die"" and then he said, "but why"" and then "ok ok ok" his friend stated that whatever he was talking to made him relax and brought him comfort before his passing.
