Any updates on the restoration?
I have a 4520-8000 from September 1968. My most accurate watch. No quartz in my house.
Two beautiful watches. Thank you for a very informative video here ❤️❤️
I know this video is old but I had to SALUTE to this ICON 6159. If SEIKO Only made this watch with exact diminutive dimensions it would be a top seller. The modern iterations of MM300 are too HUGE
What a great Aussie reviewer. Great detail. Do you know anyone in Australia (Sydney) who can mod these watches. Thinking of a double dome sapphire and ceramic bezel.
The 6159 is my grail watch but due to the rarity I ended up buying the SLA025 and I’m happy I did. The looks of old but can actually wear it everyday without worry.
im also leaning that way
any updates on the 62 restoration? We want pictures!
Do you have a 6105 Willard?
Awesome review!
I wear a 6309 from 1985 daily.
Fascinating. Thank you. I've just bought an GS SBGP001, so was very interested to see the 44GS heritage.
Great review. Thanks or sharing!
Mate your reviews are so good! I see you have been inactive for a while. Please make more content like these 🙏 please! Cheers from Bengaluru India
New video please gordon
Did a Dingo steal yur babe??? ///
An absolutely wonderful watch. I love my 777J1. Great review👍
Hello there, I greatly enjoyed this video, and I was looking for the video's you were discussing in which you'd be restoring the 62GS. Specially the glass captures my interest. I currently own a 1971 Lord Matic from the Daini factory, and due to the monocoque construction of the case, the glasses seem difficult to replace. I was wondering how you replaced it if you finally did, where you sourced the watch from or if these can be hand-crafted to fit the watch.
Should do more of this reviews. I have a GS 5646 black dial. Simply gorgeous.
I am looking for this watch. Can you help me locate one or this particular one.
just wondering if the bezel insert acts as a 60min counter down timer?
Wasn't the 6309 smaller than the new turtle?
Hey Gordon you never made videos on restorations. Just bought a 62GS, was thinking of an overhaul.
Great review, thank you. Liked and subscribed 😊
Awesome vid THANKS!!!
That's a handsome watch.
I have the 4522 7000 and 8000 and the 6146 8000. I have two 35 jewels seikomatic with similar case design as the 62gs, one in ss and the other gf. They have the same hands and indices, and with additional day function. They have a crown on the back case, other than usual dolphin. Very nice watches.
I picked up a 775 a few weeks ago and I love it more every day I wear it. Something about the gilt, the turtle case and the bracelet make it look extremely vintage.
Do you still enjoy wearing the 775?
How much did you buy it for
Did anyone noticed there is something wrong with the bezel insert? XD
Seiko hi-beat > Rolex
I personally prefer the old style, where the second hand has the lume part closest to the bezzle.
Now an iconic model in it's own right. Hail the SRP Turtle!
Did you end up making some restoration videos of this watch?
Great work. Love my turtle!
Just got my 777...how accurate should the watch be. Is gaining a minute a day acceptable?
Hi Rotty. No, 1 minute plus a day is definitely outside of Seiko specs for the 4R36 movement. 15 to 20 seconds plus is the stated accuracy and I've had these movements run a lot better than that. Its possible that the movement might have become magnetised. This is an easy and cheap fix that any watch maker should be able to help you with.
Called Macy’s and they are sending me a new watch...no questions asked.
Very informative video on superb watches! Thank you!
I love my King Seiko Hi beat automatic from 1972. I don't get why more people aren't searching for old GS and King Seiko watches. Awesome watches! My Hi Beat gains a second a day when warn and has a power reserve of around 35 hours.
i dont like hi bea,, too much maintenace and wear
Nice. How do we order
The Rolex has a 19,800 beats per hour movement.
Whoa! How the holy hell did I miss this? Phenomenal review video
Move your hands away from cam in beginning Shot pls.
Thank you for the wonderful review. Grand Seiko, Seiko - the best of the best
Beautiful watch and a great review with lots of good info. I have a lovely 6217 - 8001 which I purchased during my Aussie Army service in Malaysia in 1967. I wore it for 10 years and then upgraded to an all-bells-and-whistles Citizen and the 6217 lay undisturbed in storage until about a month ago. Rummaging through some of my storage crates, I found the 6217. I picked it up, gave it a little twist and away it went. It has been my everyday watch since then and still keeps very accurate time. It had a replacement metal band on, which had replaced the original rubber tropic band which had split when I was wearing it earlier on. I was lucky enough to source an old new stock rubber band from the USA and have had that fitted. Overall the 6217 is in terrific condition with some small scratches on the acrylic dome crystal and just a couple of minor dings on the case. The caseback is almost mint. The only problem is the bezel which is fused (possibly with rust) and immovable. The watch will be in for its first ever service later today. I will request that apart from the work on the bezel and the standard service, nothing be replaced unless necessary, particularly externally. I am a very happy camper.
Alonso Cushing do you want to sell your 6217?
Very interesting story! Thanks for sharing! And do you have the old strap with the buckle laying around by any chance? I would be very interested in that for my 6217.
Nice 6309, the nos bezel and insert you have on it, is for the 7002 not the 6309.
A great video of awesome watches. I am currently chasing a 4522 GS. I find these one of the best watches ever!!! You just got a subscriber 👍
Wonderful watch and review. That really looks like a domed sapphire crystal with blue AR though and not a hardlex. I think the crystal has been replaced.
well done, good info, you should keep doing video like this. Thanks
