Uncut - Hammer Black Widow 3.0 and Scorpion Low Flare Ball Review on 40ft Athens and THS
Absolutely love you release and videos. What is your PAP, rev rate, axis tilt and axis rotation. Thanks for the content. Could you do a comparison of the Effect and the new Mania?
@@Cvette2004 My PAP is 3 1/2 Right, 1 3/4 Up. Approximately 420 RPM? Haven’t really went in depth to check the exact rev rate, tilt and rotation can be manipulated depending on what I’m trying to accomplish. I am currently in the project of making a video for the Mania, which will feature the Effect, and the widow 2.0 hybrid
I love this ball. First throw i got a strike. Perfect for the way I bowl.
I have 10 different Hammer Balls and this has quickly become my favorite ball in the bag.
@StevenSprunger This ball have been in my bag since release date. Can’t go to a tournament without it, such a good benchmark ball.
How would you see this ball comparing to the hammer effect and the ebonite fireball, would this be a fit with them or to similar of a shape, to me it looks a lot like my fireball
@@ProfSemiAMBolwer it is definitely much more similar to the fireball. Symmetrical core, a lot of ball down lane, gets through the heads really clean. If you already have the effect and the fireball, I would actually probably recommend you looking at a solid ball to round off the arsenal.
The envy tour is more controlled in the back end than the hammer effect tour. I throw 1135 to 1235 speed senior bowler on house shots. Use the synergy also the camo. Do you think the effect tour would be to much backend
@@chrismagory9423 the more I throw it, the more it blends out to be the same. When I first got the Effect tour, it feels earlier and slower off the back than my envy tour. I think it’s more of an overlapping replacement, unless you’re splitting hairs.
I bought this ball lately and didn't have good sucess on a transitioned wet/dry condition. I was probably throwing it too much outside witch made it to burn up and loose it's hook power. You have tremendous rev. rate and i never play that deep. My other balls are the Black Pearl U78 D, the Extreme and Pure Envy, the Black Widow 3.0 and Effect, the Hazmat hybrid, the Scorpion Strike, the Artic Vibe and Black Raw. That makes 10 Hammer balls. How would you sort them out? My rev.rate is around 350, my speed 14 mph., my tilt 10.5 "circumference, and have mostly 4.5" pins. Thanks!
@@pierrelevesque5376 what you can try with the Anger, as I have lately found more use after I done so, was take the original cover off. I took a 1500 sanding pad to it to smoothen the reaction, I was getting a little over under with how sharp it is. Looking at your arsenal as well, it looks like there’s a huge gap of not having a solid symmetrical ball. It goes from 3.0 to Arctic Vibe, a solid benchmark ball will help your arsenal imo
Great Video, easy to see your release and ball going down lane. Good demonstration with the ball. This Hammer Pure Envy looks good and got strong hitting power. Like the action of the ball and would like to know what your layout on this ball might be. Thanks !
I’m throwing a 50 x 3 1/4 x 85 layout. The pin is under the bridge according to my PAP.
can the nu blue be thrown on a fresh house shot too or is it mainly used for later on in games 3-4?
Yes it can, but it is really dependent on how much surface you put on the ball. If you want to use it on fresh, keep it at 1000 or 2000 surface to help you control the pocket.
What is the envy tour layout
@@cornbredtinfed8732 50 x 3 1/4 x 85
what is the layout you used on the effect tour?
@@danielmorris6995 50 x 3 1/4 x 85
Ball review is for your own use or to demo to amateur and average bowlers...if yes why dont you show and demo whether the ball is really good...?
@@zackrazali7545 good is such a subjective word for bowling balls. What “I” think is a good motion might not be what others are looking for depending on the bowling alley, patterns and bowling styles. My reviews are for comparing other balls and explaining how I feel about the motion with equipment I already have. This can help the viewers decide if it’s comparable to something they’re looking for. Hope this helps!
Ball looks great. Keep up the content
Great review !!
Incredible line Hammer has created in the past few years🤩..This looks like the perfect compliment to the series. Your release is one of the best in the world 🔥 . Would love to get this effect in my bag 😎
Can’t wait to get that bad boy 🔥👏🏾
This ball looks really good . Question i noticed you drilled it pin down but in the middle finger? Asking why you layed it out like that ,just wondering
@@dennismcclintock3154 so this is pin down but 3 1/2 inches away from my PAP. The idea of the pin down layout was to get the RG raised to get the ball further down lane before it shapes, create a smoother shape off the spot so it’s more benchmark for me. I do have a more aggressive release, so the ball still packs a punch with the natural rotation I create. Sometimes with the pin up layouts, my ball motion does get a little “too sharp” which makes the shape harder to control. Hope this helps.
What would be a good ball if you were to only use 1 ball for all 4 games of league? I was looking towards a track stealth hybrid but curious if there are better options out there
depends on what your looking for in a ball, you can def use the stealth hybrid all 4 games ive used it all games for my league just gotta play up the lane at first with it and may need to get around it a little more before moving in
@@ghostfns The first question I would normally ask back is where do you bowl and what kind of oil pattern/lane surface you bowl out of. Reason is… in Canada and in the bowling alleys we normally bowl out of here in the GTA, transition happens very quickly, if you’re looking for a reliable ball to be used for multiple games (it’s pretty rare here…) I would recommend something smoother and medium line, stealth hybrid isn’t bad, but the stealth solid might handle the fresher pattern better. If you’re looking for something more recent in the releases, I would recommend the hazmat solid or even the black widow 3.0
@@900proshop Would the Venom Shock be a good option? I bowl in the GTA as well
@@ghostfns Venom shock is a good ball! We have sold a lot of those in the shop over the years, the only problem with Venom shock is whether or not you’re able to start with it. That depends on the oil pattern and volume they put out at your home center
The Effect is my favorite ball. I definitely want this Tour to go with it.
He's reviewing a ball that he's altered to for his playing style but may not be everyone else's playing style
@@JET1970 same could be said for every ball made it’s all personal preference all up to you if it suits your style and game in my opinion
@@JET1970 everyone has a matchup depending on where they bowl, the oil pattern they bowl and the line they prefer to bowl on. My reviews are made not to tell people how to use it, but more to share how it compares to other balls I have, that other people may also have, so they can make their purchases of the next ball with more information provided.
What is that layout
50 x 3 1/4 x 85
What layout did you use
50 x 3 1/4 x 85
Finally got my 14 lb league arsenal drilled: Hammer Pure Envy 25x5x25, Hammer Effect 30x4 5/8x70, Trouble Maker Pearl 58 x 3 ½ x 53. It makes a great 1, 2, 3 punch. I've only passed 200 once before, with a Track Theorem, but all 3 balls of this arsenal have given me multiple 200+. The Pure Envy really loves sport patterns more than my local THS, but I'm starting to get more familiar with it. It sets in the 170-180s, typically for me on THS. My Effect is the opposite, preferring the THS to the sport pattern I've been on. Still, it is an awesome trio. If you go the same route, prepare yourself for LOTS of compliments when you set them on the return.
Great video!
Not a fan of thane but love my nu. Sometimes it’s too early or if you miss hello flat ten. Would this be good or fit if I have a nu blue low flare and tundra fire. I bowl sport and very burnt house late night shots.
@@josephauler6165 hey! This NU I found to be smoother than the Blue NU. Doesn’t lane shine as fast as the blue and it’s very good at reading the mid lane and slowing down the transition. Depending on the house you bowl at, you might want to look for something a little stronger if the tundra fire is the strongest ball in the bag, might consider a hazmat solid? Or even an asymmetrical ball to get a different shape.
Excellent
I'm convinced! I'm getting one! Keep the vids coming!!!
good luck at Pan am, good vid
I've seen alot of YT guys roll the Effect just flawlessly...unfortunately it dont do the same for me...complete waste of $400
Je me régale avec cette boule. Merci Hammer
You are showing the way you throw...you need to show from 1st,2nd and 3rd arrow how this bowling ball does...need to improved for better viewers..?
@@zackrazali7545 I agree, but sometimes that part of the lane isn’t really accessible on the house shot, due to the low volume. That’s why I try to throw other balls to compare, so that owners of those balls can see the difference between the 2. I’m not expecting everyone to throw it or have the same reaction as myself, but the comparison should be relatively the same. I will also change up the videos in the near future to gain different types of viewers as well. Thanks for the input
Keep the vids coming!!
That is such a great looking ball. Just ordered the solid version, and can't wait to get this one.
@@GrumpaBaggins both solid and hybrids are great! The solid one, you should find it to be a great ball for the fresh oil!
Excellent review and comparison.
I want a refund on my headphones and ears from your sound guy and editor, but besides that, it's fine content...
THE INTRO DESTROYED MY EARDRUMS LMAO
Looks like a good burn ball
Skinny in the oil, period.
Thanks!
Great review as always!
how would you compare it to the dv8 decree they made about 3yrs ago
Great review Sly! Looking forward to more in the future.
Great review! Thanks.
Bro what u think is a better overall ball I’m more rev dominant speed like 13.5/14 hammer effect or Archetype hybrid I have both and I try n use on My league night House shot on the Fresh mostly .
Which u think is more versatile Archetype, hybrid, or hammer effect tryna get a ball That’s versatile
Slightly different shape, I think the effect has more overall shape. If you’re more speed dominant, I think the effect will be more suitable as it will probably hook more overall and give more entry angle. If you’re rev dominant, I would recommend archetype hybrid for more control
What weights are these, I like the speed on them
I am throwing 15lbs
New shoes looms nice. Also would like if you told us a little info on your stats and layout in each video. Maybe either state it in the beginning or a text box in the corner so we have more to go by or cna relate to what we see.
I can definitely start putting more of my layouts on the videos going forward. Initially I personally like answering them on comments to spark interest and discussion. Thanks for you feedback.
Keep the reviews coming!! #team900proshop #newshoecarry
#newshoecarry!! 😂
Awesome review!
Thanks!
What's your layout?
What’s the reason you use a 3.25” pin? Usually guys with high revs do 5”+
Right now my 2 layouts for the season are 3.75 and 3.5. Reason is… I often bowl on a lot of sport conditions, having that rolls the ball up sooner for me to control the breakpoint and mid lane. I also have a slightly higher axis tilt so sometimes my ball is more sensitive when playing the higher volume in the middle/ too angular when I get it out to the dry. So the layout blends that’s out a bit better imo.
@@900proshop that makes sense. Thanks for the insight.
How does your jopo lock in so easy? I have to crank mine with the wrench.
I am using a VISE IT interchangeable thumb, not JoPo. It is a quicker and smoother twist and lock system.
