This is a video I created for my high school Art 1 students who are working from home during the quarantine. Kleki is a free browser based digital painting program that I recommend to students who have limited supplies at home or just want to try something new. The assignment was to create a real or imagined landscape that highlights the art element of space. This video shows me creating a land...

    Excellent teacher! I thought my teacher was good and I was a horrible student but after watching this video, I can see that my teacher is not good at all and I understand why I was not able to make anything. I was thinking about quitting but I love pottery and I have confirmed one more time about trusting yourself.

    Yours has been the most helpful video so far. Especially the part where you teach how to tell if the clay is centered by cupping the top.

    How would you make a positive with plaster I guess ?

    • @christinecaswell2740
      @christinecaswell2740 Рік тому

      I had my high school students use the plaster gauze mask as the base for a mask project. You could add a release agent like Murphys Oil Soap and pout plaster into it to make a positive. Or press clay into it (no release agent) to turn it into a clay project.

  • @robertchampagne1516
    @robertchampagne1516 Рік тому

    How large are the plaster gauze and how large do you cut them ? Thanks for the jvideo one of the best.

    • @christinecaswell2740
      @christinecaswell2740 Рік тому

      The plaster gave I purchased came in a big roll about 4" wide, you can buy the rolls in various lengths. I cut them down to about 2" wide and 3-6" in length. It is a good idea to have a variety of sizes. It is easier to have smaller pieces to go around tighter areas like the nose.

      @@christinecaswell2740 Thanks I have two sizes 4 in and 6 in and it's difficult to see on a video the actual size.

    I’m new to pottery. I’m having trouble with how much pressure to use when pulling. This video is the very best video I’ve watched! The way you hold your hands are very similar to the way I hold mine but I’ve never tried connecting my hands. Maybe that will help. Thank you for this video! 14:21

    Do you know where to get the replacement weight disks that are under the pan? I have the 2610g model. I knocked my scale over right next to a floor vent heater and lost one or two of them down through the grating. I don't even live in that house any more. (I rented a room). I would use the scale to weigh golf heads, shafts, grips, and shaft tip weights. That way I could match the swingweight of the clubs in the set with a replacement club before I assembled the club. THANKS.

    A good habit to get into is instead of making that link with the tips of your thumbs, make it further down your thumb so your fingers are close to you, this will make you fingers sturdier

    I am looking for a potter to make clay pots for me with the size and shape I have in mind with Yixing clay that I can supply. I will pay for making the pots in volume as we agree. Please let me know if you would do this or you know someone who can do.
