Backcountry Stroll to Mt Kozzie on the Last Day of the Season | Winter 24', Day 18
G'day all!
My 18th day of the season, and also my last day of the season (maybe) and i wanted to end it on a LITERAL high, so i decided to head out for a backcountry stroll to Mt Kosciuszko for a session of Earning my turns.
My initial plan was to Snowshoe hike out from Thredbo to Mt Kosciuszko for a few turns down there. Then head back around through North Ramshead and Aries Tor. Unfortunately, my fitness, or lack of it, meant i had to divert back to the Main track and head back to Thredbo. Maybe next time!
Conditions were as good as they get for Spring time. Bluebird day, light winds, overnight freeze and near perfect corn. Despite the average season we've had, the coverage was still very good above roughly 2000m. Some awesome turns were had!
Despite the season we've had, i still enjoyed and loved every single minute on snow. Wouldn't have it any other way. It was definitely the perfect way to see out the season.
In terms of gear (for anyone interested) im Riding the Nitro Team TLS, Union Forces and Nitro POW 154
All footage shot on a GoPro Hero 12 with a Max Lens Mod 2.0.
Enjoy!

Soft and Slushy Mid Winter turns on the Nitro POW | Winter 24', Day 15
Переглядів 964День тому
G'day all! My 15th Day of the season. Another top day. We were in the middle of a mid August heat wave. With sunny days, light winds, and warm temps, this meant the snowpack would be softening up very quickly. And this presented a perfect opportunity for me to pull out the (poor mans) POW board. At the end of last season, i made a huge impulse buy on a Nitro POW board that i had been eyeing of....
A Terrific T-Bar Tuesday at Thredbo | Winter 24', Day 14

G'day all! Today was Day 14 of my Aussie season, and Spring has sprung VERY early this year. We are going through a mid winter "heatwave" with some unseasonably warm days. These High pressure systems that had been dominant and active for the past few days were sticking around, which meant beautiful bluebird days, high visibility, and the icier sections had finally started to soften, which meant...

G'day All! SORRY TO ANYONE VIEWING ON A LARGE SCREEN. I FORGOT TO DOUBLE CHECK MY GOPRO SETTINGS, AND THE FIRST 7 MINUTES (BEFORE I STOP FOR LUNCH) WAS SHOT ON FULL HD, NOT 4K, SO THE QUALITY MAY NOT BE AS GOOD AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED IT TO BE. ENJOY! It is my 13th day of the season. A beautiful Bluebird day. Little to no winds. I thought of doing something a bit different today. I felt like a bi...

G'day all! Day 6 of the season, in what was possibly my DOTS. Close to a 70cm dump the week before, followed by 25cm in the past 24 hours, Bluebird day, light winds, dry, chalky conditions. It was Perfect conditions to get some really nice turns in before the chaos of the school holidays began. G'day All! The most requested and anticipated video of all time is finally here! The Rig Rundown! I've run through the entire setup of my ute. I didn't cover anything under the bonnet because there's literally nothing done there, except for a catch can which everyon...

G'day all! A FULLY portable Xbox One X system! You read that right. A fully portable Xbox One X for my Snowboarding and Camping trips. Just add a power source! Firm and Icy Riding to start the season | Winter 24', Thredbo, Day 1-3

G'day all! Winters finally back, and that means the Snowboard comes back out from storage. Its been another slow start to the season this year, with very little natural snow. However, an extended period of freezing overnight temps, giving optimal temperatures of snowmaking allowed the Thredbo mountain ops to pump out some massive amounts of snow to open up some runs. So, i just had to head down...
My best week of Snowboarding ever (so far) at Panorama, BC - POV

G'day all! My trip to Canada saved the best conditions for last. After going 12 days straight without a single drop of snow in Banff and some rather Icy conditions, Panorama decided to turn it on, big time. Nearly 70cm of that Beautiful light, dry, Rocky Mountains Powder over 4 days, the conditions were All time! Absolutely insane. There were times that i seriously struggled trying to stay aflo...

G'day all! Another one of the 3 Resorts during my Canada Trip, Stunning Lake Louise! Quite possibly the most beautiful resort in Canada. what sort of things do you personally bring with you when you go backcountry?
Apart from what you can see in the video, GPS Tracker and Rescue , First aid, Rain/Wind stopper (if im not already wearing one), radio, plenty of water and dry foods and snacks, small stove (sometimes), emergency blanket, headtorch, all that good stuff. Might be forgetting some stuff.
Good to see you're having fun even in terrible snow, keep it up!
Absolutely, never had a bad day when Snowboarding!
Thanks for that. I've never skied in Australia. We're moving to QLD (not known for its snow next year). Nice to see some snow :)
May not be as good as other places in the world, but i still love it! I know the Border Ranges get a little bit of snow during a big cold front, if u ever wanted to get your snow fix 👍
eh close enough, not like you could ride from summit to sea level anyway!
that should be easy enough, don't worry about the lack of oxygen haha
9 METERS?
@@Poopergambles yeah, Maths is clearly not my strength haha
Spectacular scenery. You've put together some amazing footage. Well done!
Thank you! The scenery is spectacular so it does half the job for me haha
Thanks mate, great video
Cheers, gotta give the people what they want haha
Yes finally 😊
Great videos mate. Thanks heaps. I've just discovered your channel. We're from the Bega Valley and will definitely come up and check out some of these spots.
@@robzalisz5176 Thanks mate! The Snowies are practically your next door neighbours haha. Definitely worth the visit.
Weather did turn up! 🙌🏼 Hitting Thredbo next week. So excited
yep, good thing the wind stayed down as well, otherwise it'd be an ice rink haha
How many times will you be there in the season?
@@paulmarriott1 depends on snow conditions really, hopefully it improves, but im hoping for at least 20 days 🤞
Chomping for snow?
Super Eager! Not too far of now, hopefully
What camera are you using to film man? Some great content!
Thanks man! In this vid, GoPro Hero 12 with the Max Lens mod 2 and also the GoPro Max.
Craka video mate, can we get a walk around vid of the triton?
Thanks mate! Iv been meaning to get on that for a while now, a few people have asked already haha. I'll try and get a video up soon hopefully 👍
Hello mate. Beautiful place up there. Wild horses and pigs every where. My other channel @thetreestyler. When I was there last the clouds were below the road @4mins
It isn't. We didnt see any Horses or pigs but plenty of Horse poop!
That looks beautiful. Can’t wait to head down for a ski in the July holidays.
Winter, best time of the year isnt it!
Hi mate can you access that camp spot on Port Phillip trail without any gates etc? did you go Snowy Mountains highway Long Plain Road / Port Phillip trail?
Hey mate. Yep, i got in Via the Highway and then Long Plain Rd. But u can also get in via Tantangara/Port Phillip Trail as long as the water level is low, otherwise the causeway that crosses Tantangara is underwater
Nice vids, cheers
That’s awesome mate, my uncle fished Thredbo River years and years ago and caught his biggest Brook Trout to date on fly, weighed 3.5 pounds
Geez, dont often see Brookies that big haha, incredible
@@alexazizo that is true, the only place Brookies that big exist in NSW are Lake Jindabyne and Thredbo River, average size is definitely a lot smaller but big ones are around.
Amazing
Nothing is better than the golden hour!
Beautiful time of the day
Underrated
Sunshine village?
Yep! Goats Eye
nice.... only thing better is with 2 skies
😂😂 absolutely not
amazing mate
Thanks mate!
Nice place but only small fish in the upper confluences.
i found it the opposite to be honest haha. The higher up the river i went, the larger they got. Saw some surprisingly large ones in there.
Well done mate ! Start practicing using the reel when a trout is hooked on you will have less hooks pulled out and tippet breakage ! Thanks for the video
Thanks Joe! Iv always thought to get em on the reel when iv got a big one hooked on.
I love this style of video, great commentry, well done Alex
Thank you mate, glad you enjoyed it!
Loved the commentary!
Cheers Jerry!
Love the fly fishing vids man
Thank you! Appreciate it 🤙
Yet again another amazing video man Yeah I alway use the word “one more cast”😂
Thanks Adam! Ohh mate, the amount of times a "one more cast" turns into 4 more hours of fishing is crazy haha
Hi azizo love watching your videos just keen to know I don't have an actual 4x4 car but I own a awd kluger u recon I can visit most camping grounds of kosciuszko on my awd car thanks
Hey mate, thanks! The campgrounds around Thredbo and Perisher you'll be fine. They're smooth dirt roads to access. If ur going Long Plain, you'll also be fine on Long Plain road. Some of the small campgrounds from the smaller tracks might be a bit more difficult
What's the campsite called? Sweet as and appreciate the vid
hi mate, it was just the nrma caravan park in Jindy
Man I love watching your videos man and love the high country man
Thanks mate! Its amazing hey

thank you! it really is beautiful isn't it
We camped at the same spot and caught 9 fish at the river directly at camp and in a 100 meter radius caught 14 fish good stuff keep it up
yeah its a cracker of a spot hey
Yarrangobilly river has some solid fishing man ! It's come back ..... u can start from the caves or go further up as heading into Kiandra !!! Few creeks along the way all have trout as well in the high country !!
Oh ye i will definitely be heading back, theres another stretch of it iv had my eyes on. Ill definitely give the cave section another go too. 3rd time lucky hey haha
@@alexazizo third time lol ! Let me DM work it I will tell u where to go and it's got plenty of fish and you have the car for it .... cause the road was worn out last time I went and u needee tracks to get across

That's an interesting tunnel you went through. Where can people find this tunnel to walk inside it? Will it look exactly the same for anyone who walks inside it? What a great tunnel.
Is that the one at 1:57? Not a tunnel unfortunately, was shot with a 360 camera and changed the perspective when editing.
Nice one Alex - enjoyed the journey and some nice b roll mixed in along the way 👍
