Why on earth are you turning the hand throttle turning it only locks it in place does nothing for your start up you pull it out toward the rear of the car to get it to work it's not a choke and looks like you need a new set of glow plugs aswell
James Newell no you are wrong. The hand throttle is to use for cold start by this engine model. You can read this in the original instruction book. The glow plug are 2 years old, they are good.
that is not glowplugs, there is not even frost in the grass there. looks more like faulty fuel delivery/bad compression, especially as he revs the throttle and it coughs when the idle has become clean in the first place. my guess is fuel delivery. very normal for these nissan sixes after some use. they are solid but require maintenance. as for the hand throttle lock, i dont know how the y60 one behaves. mine i have to turn left, pull, and turn right, but i like to use my foot instead when starting. peace
@@jetstream454 i know, i have five of them :) however, a healthy diesel will fire just fine even when it is quite cold. and that clean idle but messy throttle blips has me thinking this one struggles with the fueling
I picked up one of these jewels this year on an ebay auction
Ok but where is it now?!!
Amazing, it started and got all the way to the exit !,...???
0:11 what is it?
choke
Turns the throttle up, usually...though I don't think this one did it as much as it should

@@James25huen The hand throttle did literally nothing, you were likely using it incorrectly. And yeah glow plugs aren't good

@@allahsnackbar9915 Doesn't need to be frosty for plugs to make a difference, especially with indirect injection
