After all that great work you put them nail holes in the foundation
Achilles heel in this … corrugated pipe. Probably crushed under the weight of backfill!
That black plastic dimple pipe collapses very easy. Should use Schedule 40.
How long did this process take
What waterproofing products have you found to work the best? I'm considering Rub-R-Wall Aqua and adding Xypex to the concrete in addition to French drains.
Out of curiosity what would be a rough price for my house?
where is the full video??
Ballpark?
This is amazing look what RCC did
Only on the one side of the foundation?
Whatever side is leaking. Pray you dont have to do all sides! Usually its only one side because "water always finds a way" and once it finds a way.. it only needs that one way which itll expand from one tiny crack/stream into one canyon/river and doesnt need to find a second way. It'll just reroute to the first way since it offers the least resistance of flow.
They probably did this as an example or the didn't film it all
This is impressive. Great work fellas
How much does this cost?
Thats all I kept thinking, because this guy does it right, and I need mine done asap!
That looks like exactly what needs to be done to our foundation. What's a reasonable ballpark cost range for the size and type of job shown in the video? We're in Indiana, obviously with different contractors and a different economy but I'm looking for a general idea. Thanks in advance for your input. It looks like your crew did a great job!
yeah so more like.. "what does this cost where you live sir, and how much is the minimum wage, and property taxes?" to be able to get an idea so we can convert it to our area's cost of living.
Why not use stone from footer to top of wall to finish grade?
Are you saying to just fill the whole trench with stone up to the surface? Homeowner probably wants to grow grass there.
@@ChristopherJones16 just cover the top 4 inches with topsoil
Is waterproofing the outside and then adding a sump pump in the inside overkill?
It depends on how high the water tables in your area are. For some places like towns built near big bodies of water, a sump pump is necessary to prevent water levels from rising too high and flooding your basement from the inside. So in certain places, yeah it could be overkill or more of a precaution but other places, it might be a necessary part of the system.
You should checkout high octane weeping tile by French Drain Man. Blows that black pipe away with better stench then and more opening per linear foot for starters.
Great company
How much did you quote and charge for this?
That was Awesome - thank you!
Good work 👍👍
How much it cost to underpinning of 624 sqft in Toronto midtown .. ??
Would to be kind enough to tell me what product you use to put on the wall and what is the name of the plastic you used I couldn’t tell from the video how much gravel do you used thank you so much
Sure! The waterproofing membrane is Hydro Guard which is a commercial grade waterproofing rubberized membrane. Then we put a reinforcement sheet in between and then a DMX Drainage Membrane which is the dimpled plastic in the video. In terms of the gravel, it depends on the application but we want to cover the weeping tile which is 4" pipes so we layer it 4 to 5 inches or more depending on what is required for the application.
Can you lower the basement floor just a foot and not do anything? Or still need to support?
We did it right everybody went home
What’s the purple stuff?
Crazy amount of digging to do the old way man with spade... backbreaking work
I don't understand how that many guys took six months to do that job...like did they only work weekends or something?
I did it right
Thanks for sharing each step from restoration to waterproofing. Do all waterproofing companies restore walls and waterproof like you? Thx!
Great work on this! I also do not understand how this video doesn't have millions of views. It's so damn awesome to watch days and days of hard work, in a three and a half time-lapse. Watching the buckets fill and unfill, seeing the initial walls come down, and y;all going to town with those shovels. All while the ground drops more and more. Very fun to watch, thanks for uploading it. Keep on diggin!
RCC!
they did this job the hard way. Doing the digging first and using buckets to carry out the dirt is labor intense. They could have done the opening first and carry all the dirt through there.
This okay! But I just don't understand why y'all have to tear-up! The basement floor? Seems like to me y'all can do the same thing from outside the house!!.GOD BLESS!
Yes your right! Better to do from outside. Unless hydrostatic pressure or no room to dig like in cities.
This is more cost effective. Doing it outside would more than likely require excavation equipment. It also might require more maintenance because of soil and weeds.
Whats the typical price for a job like this? And how long did this process take?
$65k + and 4-5 months
Excellent job, great crew!
How come there were already foundations poured so far beneath the crawlspace? (on which the vertical beams rested.)
Because Canada. You have to put the footers below the frost line. Canada freezes really deep.
Try doing the same thing with one person.
Wouldnt be worth it unless youre the homeowner and doing it yourself
Alot of helpers.
Wow, those guys are fassssst! Great job!
that 1" of concrete is not going to last. trench should have been dug out deeper, 2" of 3/4" clear gravel placed under the drain pipe, backfilled with 3/4" clear to the top of the pipe, and then the foundation wrap used should have been folded over, and been run across the top of the pipe and gravel. then top with cement (which at that point would now be back close to the original thickness of 4".
Even Homes that were water-proofed with the technology of the time (50's to 70's), their tar/bitumen waterproofing layer has decayed so much over they years, and the clay weepers plugged up with silt, so even they are no longer waterproof.
Why not jet the tile, its not collapsed, and no excessive lips at the tile butts, this would be a good scenario for jetting.
What was the cost to the customer? I know it’s a long stretch, but do you have any recommendations for someone in Colorado?
Thanks for watching! This was a $60,000 Canadian dollar project. Wish we knew someone in Colorado to recommend but don’t know anyone. If it was possible, we would love to do ourselves as Colorado is beautiful.
@@RCCWaterproofing I would like to know how much it cost to dig out the 800sqf scrawl space with 6 feet tall to 8feet tall? I live in BC, Canada. Thanks.
Excellent job, great crew
Very cool. Great job!
Can that be applied over existing foam board insulation?
would not recommend, as the waterproofing it would provide would be rendered useless. Also, even if the foamboard is xps, its probably already holding water from being under grade several years.
Can a monolithic floor but cut in a similar fashion?
Hehehe..marlow's parging says..SPLASH!!!!!
Interesting video. My son is replacing his existing basement window well with one that protrudes out further from the window for egress purposes. The existing well did not have a drainage pipe down to the weeping tiles. Our goal was to excavate deep enough to so that we could run a length of the 4" Big O down to the weeping tiles. The house is probably 50 to 60 years old and we really didn't know what to expect but I did think that the weeping tile should be installed slightly below the footing. We actually encountered the tile before we got to the footing which kind of puzzles me. Also, the small section of weeping tile we unearthed was the terracotta clay pipe which considering the age of the house is not a surprise. It seems to me that the clay tile system would be susceptible to failure but I don't believe there is any issues with water ingress into his basement. There's lots of videos regarding installation of egress windows but I still have a lot of questions.
I'm 76 years old been around tile All My Life as a farmer drainage contractor and working around housing developments they typically put they typically put the drain tile on top of the concrete footer beside the concrete or block wall that the house sits on they do this because the concrete footing is level and predict anymore would need another Excavating so this is the cheapest way out and it passes most of the rules but technically what is a farmer and drainage contractor that tile would need to be 6 or 8 in below the top of the footer but like I said that's an extra expense that most contractors don't want to do it's not exactly right but it's not exactly wrong and the person buying the house doesn't really know nor understand how drain tile work also you say they Kyle are terracotta I'll bet they're not terracotta they're what US Farmers call clay tile they were put in until about the early 70s Gwen plastic drainage tubing come in to existence I have hooked into a lot of clay tile to use as an outfit that are a hundred fifty years old and most of them are still in good shape the problem with them being around the house is everybody plants shrubs and flowers and trees and therefore the tile eventually get plugged with roots Etc
4 year xeprnce
I need job weaterpofing
It would be more professional if you would install the drain pipe under ground and a least 10' of the house
Not to sure what you mean-The weeper is underground, packed in 3/4 clear and finished with concrete.
Is that bluekin aqua bloc being applied?
