    I think people who are particularly good at typing tend to underestimate the degree to which natural coordination is important in typing. I'm alright, but I peak around 95 wpm, but generally I'm closer to 80 or 85 (and it's not really an accuracy problem, I'm like 98% accurate whenever I do a typing test). I could probably push that up a bit with a ridiculous amount of practice, but at the end of the day, my brain just isn't capable of sending signals to my fingers that rapidly.

    • @ignasijunyent
      @ignasijunyent 7 місяців тому

      True, coordination is vital, but I feel practice can enhance typing speed remarkably (up to a certain level indeed, I also don't feel I could reach e.g. +150WPM). Thanks for watching!

      @ignasijunyent Рік тому

      Glad you liked the video! A few tips that helped me as a shy person: Start by sharing in small team meetings with people you feel comfortable with. And you can share achievements that are positive for the full team, so it's not bragging but it's sharing information that is useful for the rest. If you focus on sharing what brings value to the rest of the team (e.g. learnings from a test applicable to other people, learnings from a process applicable to other people), you're just helping others and it helps create a good image for yourself. And grow from there by just practicing in slightly more uncomfortable settings (e.g. larger meetings). The first time I presented in a town hall I was quite nervous, the 3rd/4th time started to feel easier. Hope this helps for now, I might do a video on it later on!

    I am so glad that you clearly laid out these two main drivers: Pressure and Passion. Now that I think about it, I learned to program on VBA quickly mainly because I promised a senior colleague that I could help them automate some tedious data gathering and cleaning processes. It felt like setting a challenge, which created a PRESSURE to deliver. Though, it was not a random challenge that I decided to take on. I was actually fascinated at the thought of being able to program something that makes life easier for someone else and enhance the team's productivity. So there was a strong element of PASSION that drove me and helped keep me motivated to learn. I find that whenever either of pressure or passion is lacking, the learning process stagnates. Great content, keep them coming Ignasi!

    This all just boils down to find your motivation. For myself, it is the mastery of self. To master self you must know the smallest things and the biggest thing, the shallowest things and the deepest thing. See them laid out in front of you like a map on the ground. If your goal is complete and total mastery of self, you must gain mastery of every element of the world around you.

    I became sick 9 years ago, the doctors couldn't tell me what was wrong, and I became like a zombie. I kept pushing because that's all I knew, and one day it got to the point where I could push no further. I am a father of two young children, and up until recently I had no hope of working again. One day I decided to try to learn some form of coding, and after many days of frustration and headache, I was able to create something that actually worked. It sparked a passion in me, that perhaps I wasn't doomed to just live a life on a couch. I, like you, started joining every course I could find, and over the last few months have learned much. Pressure in life IS how we find purpose, and without it, we are nothing.
