"Yellowstone (Coming Home)" by John Denver
This is a unique mix of the available elements of John Denver's last song, "Yellowstone (Coming Home)." The first verse was written and videotaped during a trip down the Colorado River, the second verse was completed later on the same trip and videotaped by a campfire; and the third and final verse was completed and recorded after the trip, as a demo at John's home. This video combines all of these elements to create a more complete version of the song. To smooth out some of the transitions, I altered the pitch of one segment, added a touch of equalization in some spots, and sprinkled in a little reverb and double-tracking in one or two areas. The goal was to create one cohesive performance, but it's hard to do with such different sounding tapes.

This Song is GREAT Originally Recorded during the Different Directions Studio Album sessions.
Thanks for your music, John Denver !!!
I think part of this was filmed on a rafting trip down the Colorado River. Can you imagine being in that group, just by happenstance? What a trip!
John and his kids were so Blessed together Thank you John for everything❤
man i wish he got to record the final version in a studio its a great song
Almost like he knew... I can't imagine how he would feel today if he were alive. With corporate and personal lasciviousness at an all time high. My Dad was born the same year as John Denver and I constantly have to help my dad understand what's going on when he doesn't understand the wickedness the world has come to. There are many things I simply don't tell him because he's better off not knowing.
Magnificent voice, heavenly soul, friend to the earth and all its inhabitants John Denver. He MUST NEVER EVER be forgotten .❤️🎼🦅🦌🐋🎸🏔️🕊️
❤
I'm sure a slowed version of this would be absolutely more mind-blowing
What special was this from? I remember seeing it but now I don't remember! great song, still miss him
Did John Denver believe in the Lord
Love this video with John, Zacchary, & Anna Kate. 😊
I have always liked his music my mom has records of his music
He was a good friend at Texas Tech; not the easiest time in his life. Miss him.
Wow just recently atarted listening to him again and glad I did.. His voice is so rich and organic. There is nothing better to listen to listen to an artist that pulls you in to a song and that song did just that..beautiful from begining to end.
You are very spiritual in your love for the songs you sing make me bloom for the beauty of this earth 🌎 thankyou.
Too many ads on youtube.
You did a great job! I dreamed I was singing this with John last night. So glad I found this.
I soo love this song. Really hauntingly beautiful and so sad that it was John's last song. How we miss him soo. What a wonderful man he was too inside and out. The many wonderful causes that he supported, his amazing foresight and beauty. His wonderful songs will always live on as John will in our hearts too.
Your music has always calmed my heart and soul. I miss your spirit.
On the 25th anniversary of his passing, I am brought to this song and video. I am forever amazed how his lyrics and land ethic has influenced my life. I am grateful for his music and soul.
God I miss this man. Ambassador to the wild. The wild within and the wild beyond.
I wish they would release this as a single.
That man was so trueth full and carried about the world that's the way everybody should be
This is the perfect send off song for John Denver. He was in his element singing about the things he loved most once again, nature and all her glory. That section between 0:43 and 1:43 is just so bittersweet, sitting out in nature with his kids playing what would be his very last song around a campfire, he must have been elated and this being one of the last memory his kids would have of him, just wow...So surreal. R.I.P John, thanks for the music.
This This is the best goddam part of UA-cam, hell the internet. Shit that may be near lost or hard to find is preserved. So much is still lost but so much more is preserved. One time recorded songs preserved forever and so forth.
All I have to say is thank you to John Denver
He is with Mother Earth now! Miss you John
John Denver was a true bother friend to the earth 🌎
This man was DECADES ahead of his time.....what he stood for....what he believed in .....what he spent his life preaching about are only now being understood......his message of compassion.......kindness......love....and an understanding of the wilderness and natural world...WILL endure for many years to come .....thank you John for everything you did......may you be at peace.

Thank you for this mix... This is the version John would have wanted to be shared I am sure. Very well done.
He is home and always with us in all of our senosries. Oh-ooo oh-ooo oh-ooo oh-ooo Oh, the Yellowstone. What one man did for us to be the one to teach us to cary on and do. "It is not about what you have done, it is about what you will do.-John Lizgange" Oh-ooo oh-ooo oh-ooo oh-ooo Oh
Kenne ich gar nicht . Nie gehört .
I still listen to the often and think of our beloved “Rocky Mountain Bard”. I still feel deep grief at his missing voice. And deeper gratitude that we were gifted with so much music to sustain us.
John Denver was the most beautiful soul that ever happened to planet Earth. He was beautiful beautiful beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Except when he was drinking and cheating on Annie.

Absolutely beautiful. Lovely to see him so happy. Thank you for sharing.
I love this edit you've put together, Clark. Linking back to your video; I've taken the liberty of using this beautiful edit in my "John Denver Mega Concert Experience". Just an amazing tribute. Immense gratitude for putting it together.
A beautiful song. RIP John.
Thank you for this. Your editing of videos sound clips made this worthy of its own recording....which it is. I think JD would approve.
It's a shame this was never recorded in a high end studio but in his home studio. Still, a beautiful tribute to my favorite singer-songwriter....yet he was so much more than that. A complicated and quite conflicted man, he cared, I believe too much for issues he badly wanted to change. Yet, in the end, he realized he was, as are we all in our modern world, inextricably linked with the problems we so surely want to solve. Suffering from bipolar disorder (imho as a physician), he self medicated w alcohol which never leads to a good outcome. I believe he was a spiritual man and I hope he is finally at peace and he is finally home.
Amazing Voice & Such A Big Loss..🕺🎸❤THX JOHN Rip :((
Forever returning ... Belonging for love...
