It DOES get hot. If you push it. And some of us will push it, because it's the nature of what we need to do with it. So no. It's not cool to the touch forever just because some hype people say it is. It gets hot too. It just takes longer. But it does get hot.

Yes, it actually has a fan. And yes, it can become quite loud under sustained use. Despite what reviewers are saying. But you have to really tax the system to get it to do so. Which depending on your workflow and use case, might or might not ever happen.

FCPX 10.4.8 is the last stable version of FCPX that works with ALL of my plugins. Unfortunately, Apple silicon does not support that version. However, FCPX 10.4.9 is supported, and about 80% of my plugins work on this version.
