Another great vid , great idea getting a newbie into the sport/hobby and filming the progress and the pellet testing ,IHUNTER do some pretty nice test packs I had a selection of the QYS in .177 when I got M4 impact had some nice results but it really likes JSB heavy's 😁👍👍👍👍

It's great introducing someone to airguning you get excited with them it's easy to get complacent about things sometimes..after running through the basics with my middle daughter it took her all of 10 minutes to consistently hit 15mm spinners at 15m rested with the rm8..now she thinks she's Annie Oakley 😂..cheers Denny great content and loads to look forward to especially the podcasts 👍

Really liking the idea of following your mate on his journey into airgunning. I hope you've warned him it'll get expensive though ?. Should be interesting mate I've watched a few barrel polishing videos online

Will be interesting to see what the barrel polishing process is, or do you mean to just clean the barrels and not polish? Polishing I would use as last resort for barrels that are extremely pellet fussy and appear inaccurate for no other reason. Since you seem to have an accurate rifle, polishing that barrel will likely do very little and always the potential to do damage during the polishing process if it is too heavy handed. Good luck!

I think it's great you've managed to get a newbie interested in the sport denny, as soon as people hear the word gun they imagine the worst case scenario where as the vast majority of us are extremely conscious to act responsibly. I've been a shooter of air weapons for 45 years and even had a few years using 5.56 military weapons. Should be fascinating to see how ya neighbour gets on.

Can guarantee with the barrels polished groups will tighten up and in my experience any pellet fussy rifle will be less so mate

The barrel might be a free floating barrel. This gives better barrel harmonics ?

Really nice rifle. I noticed the last shot out the magazine leaving it empty would missalighn the magazine & barrel, snagging on the probe o-ring when decocking on an empty mag. Does that make sense? I 'fixed' mine by taking it apart & soldering a small shim like ball so it aligns nicely. Maybe you cover this still watching the vid 😅 The barrel rattle in the figure 8, I added one layer of black electric tape around the inside. It still allows for a bit of movement but eliminates the rattle.

Cheers, Denny! You should definitely check out CARM magazines-they’re leagues ahead of the rattling OEM ones and cost only a third of the price. Plus, they’ve got a smaller version, perfect if you want to use lower scope mounts. As for the Safari finish, it’s done by raising the wood grain on the bare stock with a bit of water and skipping the sanding. That rough texture is then treated with stain and finish-quite unique, really! My Revere is FAC-rated, but it only manages 10 shots rather than 10 magazines, haha. Don’t take it out too often, but when I do, it’s rock solid!

The Revere is a phenomenal gun and has a few niggles but ive never had an issue with the new gated magazines. sady i had to sell mine to fund another gun but i kept my 9 year old daystate huntsman Regal to hunt with and bought the Safari stock as i wanted something a bit more tactile to hold than the polished wanut stock. As for accuracy out to 40yds, it's as good as anything being made today,even my Airmaks Krait The rear butt pad part of the safari stock is a different shape and narrower compared to the walnut stocked revere so wont fit and i would imagine difficult to find one that fits snug.

The revere name comes from Paul Revere who, during the American War for Independence, came galloping in to inform the troops that ‘the British’ were coming, and given Daystate’s presence in the American market

Hi Denny, i have Revere and i can honestly say its definitely a keeper, as accurate as anything out there and not really pellet fussy, i have the one piece walnut stock, the floating barrel does feel like its loose and the rifle feels flimsy when you say tap the stock with your hand, this is perfect normal, at first i thought my rifle was missing something??? But no, 2 of my friends bought them after shooting mine and theirs are exactly the same, and you just demonstrated exactly what im trying to say, you know when you own or have used one. Trigger is sublime and the rifle is dependable. You can do loads of reviews or opinions on most rifles so don't worry about grabbing it again and letting us know how you feel about it. Ohh and check that magazine still has a tiny pin each side of the hinged gate.

What about the plastic hand rail?

I’ve been shooting my HW35 for 25 years, they are absolutely fantastic guns, I managed to get hold of a new Walther LGU in .22 last year, absolutely fantastic, pellet on pellet, great video again, keep up the good work, I’ll invite you to my new air gun range in Co Durham when it’s up and running, maybe you can do a review of it ? Great job that backdrop looks mint. I’m a waste not want not guy and I saw a large dog crate on top of a skip in a neighbours garden so I asked first as that’s what we do and took the metal tray out of the bottom, and then cut some bits of old pallet to the size and put them into the tray and screwing them in from the backside and Bobs your uncle a perfect backdrop that cost me nowt, well I am a Yorkshireman you know!😂 Have a great weekend fella.

Very smart Denny, good job Tom👍I'm lucky to have a block wall at the end of the garden +I've got mesh shelving lined with rubber backed fake grass to prevent damage behind spinners etc,in my pellet traps I've put felt style lining from an old dressing table (think it's some type of plastic composite)but it keeps the noise down 3 layers seem impenetrable 😮👍👍you need to get on the tic-tac smash it's great fun 😀

My backstop I use a large cardboard box with one inch wood at the back then old clothes stuffed in the front till it’s packed solid with cloth, works great and hardly no noise and caches all pellets, never had one pass all the way through.

Looks great, I need something small and easy to put away. So looking at a box type so it will catch pellets with no risk of ricochet and needs to be quiet as possible on pellet impact.

Yeah I own a vixen short 177 and Iv customised her built my own internals in the silencer and other stuff, I think it’s a pisstake they supplied it with that 💩 rail too. That’s the only thing I need to get as of yet, great video. I’ll put mine up on my UA-cam channel soon and show you what Iv done. Iv also subscribed 🙏

Just to let you know I build my own silencer system and shrouds I always mod my rifles, I’m on tinkering with a idea for a vixen shroud silencer too, once I have got something sorted and very extremely quiet I will post it on my UA-cam channel, and share the details.

I like a lightweight wood and canvase folding seat. I don't get up and down off the ground like I used too. Wood and canvases don't make much noise. I carry mine by a cord over my shoulder.

I have an imersive prismatic brilliant scope. Only down side I can't find a night vision add on for it

One reason you maybe have been able to hit the targets whilst been out of focus, may be due to the optics having a fixed reticle rather than needing to use a zoom, for example you don't need to zoom between 3 to 12 times zoom as it is set to 12x zoom, therefore there is less parallax error and possibly zero parallax error, which would make the scope more consistent to accuracy.

Not got a prismatic BUT I have a MTC Optisan mamba. Quality and performance is excellent. Optisan left Mtc and Mtc then joined wit daystate, the build quality is not like years ago, for sure. Also don't forget adjusting the eyepiece is the first thing to do on any new scope. Set to efinity and max mag then use the focus ring.
