I lost my hearing on one side about 7 months ago and have been dealing with repercussions. As a result of my loss, I also lost a huge part of my balance which has mostly come back fortunately. Like you, I also found myself pulling away from conversations with groups of people. It has been very isolating and depressing. I’m currently using a CROS hearing aid which helps in quieter situations, but is useless in loud environments or in a big group of people. I’m considering the cochlear implant, but I’m concerned it wont be better than the CROS. I look forward to hearing (no pun intended) about your experience with it.

I had exactly the same thing, just one day I woke up and boom I lost my hearing in my right ear! Went to the doctor same day took steroids but still didn’t really work, it was fluctuating for couple of months with medication then went off completely. Just did a cochlear implant, and wondering how this could improve my social life

Just happened to me 2mo ago - I'm still trying to adjust and wrap my mind around the fact I'll never hear out of my left ear again - not like it was anyways. Profound loss of -93db at peak. Will be getting a CROS soon but I'm already scheduled to be evaluated for CI later on if the CROS is ineffective for me. So before this - I never "heard" of such a thing as Sudden Sensorineural HL.. I just woke up one morning and it was gone and was another 2.5wks before seeing ENT even after talking with my Primary. ENT docs mentioned, sadly, too many GPs don't realize the severity of it and play it off as wax buildup - when getting steroids is paramount in at least trying to save what hearing is left or make a recovery. Anyways, thanks for sharing your story with us and prayers everything turns out well with your CI journey - I'll be following!

I would definitely not use plastic bottles if you're planning on using for herbs or vegetables. You don't want that stuff leeching to your plants. Use scraps of firewood, gravel, sand or peat moss instead or a mixture of those. you can use bug screen to seperate materials and keep them from mixing.
