We started production on The War Dog’s Story back in July of 2022, and after 60 hours of filming, 39 interviews, 5 states around the country, and t...

A dog will give his life for his handler, the least we could do is give them the same honor as any other solider. They are VETERANS that need to be remembered.

I did not know you folks had to leave so many of these beloved dogs behind. It was a travesty you were forced to accept. Devastating, I didn’t know your dogs but I can feel and share your grief. Such a tragedy. May God bless you handlers who had to leave your dogs. I pray that a heart and spiritual connection with them will remain ever strong. I myself MUST believe my dogs from the past will greet me when I cross over. ❤🙏🏼

I didn't know this. It's sad that the dogs were left behind. It's like any dog they become part of your family. These dogs that served in the military should have came home with the men. They protected and provided mental support through the ugliness of wars.

If a police K-9 is viewed as an officer. Morally and ethically the military K-9s deserve the same benefits our military does. While I'm on it...... our veterans need to be cared for before ANY illegals get free room and board.

I would have refused to leave vietnam or even most recently afghanistan without the dogs. It is no different than abandoning soldiers as they mutually functioned as soldiers. Accountability, must be ... otherwise, next they'll proceed to abandom human soldiers next ... they've already abandoned in afghanistan allies, ordinary people, and military equipment along with the dogs ...

  • @lindagraham9991

abandoning those dogs is inexcusable. whoever was behind commands to should have been held accountable and they hadn't been do it now along with whoever was in charge not as long ago in afghanistan.

How can anyone justify ordering K9 soldiers to leave their dogs behind. Humans never fail to continue to disgust me. Under normal circumstances your dog is family, imagine the bond the soldiers would form with their K9 partner in active duty.

My fiancé made it home, though he was never fully recovered and eventually succumbed to his injuries. But he grieved , not so much for fallen comrades. I guess they were able to find a place to put that horror. He grieved because the units dog went down with him and did not survive. He didn’t have a place to put that.

I would have stayed behind first before I left my partner behind. They are no different than the brother fighting next to you, and they will not leave you behind. Our military was and is run by idiots. The only reason they are changing is the dog's partners have brought this to the attention of the public and said ENOUGH!

I was a licensed veterinary nurse at a specialty practice in California near one of the Naval bases. The saddest thing I remember was to watch a female MP bring her MP dog into us; our internal medicine specialist found cancer. To watch her try to keep her composure was difficult, because as the Navy paid for the visit, they would not pay to treat. She stayed at the hospital with her dog until she was ready to say goodbye. They allowed her that much. It still tore her apart.

Imagine an airplane hanger full of dog crates, each containing a dog trained for military service. Now imagine a senile president expediting the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and our soldiers having to walk away leave all those dogs behind for the Taliban. My bad, you dont have to imagine it. It actually happened.
