Just MY humble opinion but, I think ten years is about as old as it gets before Starting to taste more like wood than whiskey. There are exceptions but for the most part ten years is about as good as it gets.

I am excited for this! Can't wait to try. You both have great tasting notes!

I'm a big fan of the Bernheim.

We often visit Nashville, Indiana and found Hard Truth a few years ago and fell in love with it! I came home telling my whiskey friends to keep an eye these guys they are an up and comer! Now I visit Nashville to go to Hard Truth!

I went to the HT distillery less than a month ago. Before lunch I did a flight of their ryes which I have always enjoyed. After a nice lunch of great fish and chips, I went back to tasting room for a flight of their bourbons. Again, all were very nice, but to me, the 4-grain bourbon clearly stood out as my favorite of all the whiskeys I tried that day; this was not what I would have predicted.

Up in my neck of the woods (Indianapolis), the bib BH move from 6yr to 7yr age statement last year; can no longer find the 6yr on retail shelves. The difference I noticed was a slight increase in the oaky tannins from 6 to 7. The rest of the profile remained very much in line with what I’ve come to enjoy about this very good bourbon.

This was a really interesting ride for me. Had the pleasure of a sample in an advent calendar. Farmy, manurey (but nice!) on the nose but then an absolute explosion of fruity complexity on the palate. It took me a little while to wrap my palate around it but it really ended up impressing me. I still balk at the bottle price, but for ~$150 I'd be happy to own a bottle. Cheers fellas!

Great review! Lots of reviews have been trying to read the tea leaves with the mash bill(s) calling this a 10Y Early Times BiB or a King Jr. which clearly it is not, given this a blended/batched product. I need to give this a try however I'm a little hesitant at the price point.

A store owner said he was super dissatisfied with this bottle for the price and the hype. 1897 bottled in bond old forester is better value and same taste he said

Just not what I’m looking for at this price point. I can get two 1920 which I know I like for one of these so I’m going with two 1920’s every time over this bottle.

dang that’s some proof! i found one last night and it is 107 proof

Bourbon is a char 4 and the whiskey is a char 3. They have 2 mash bills the bourbon uses corn, rye and barley and the Tennessee whisky replaces rye with wheat.

Fortunate enough have these 3 rye’s from 2023- looking forward to doing the same flight!

I just got a bottle of this for Christmas from my brother in law and I’m getting over Covid so my taste hasn’t been fully back but I could definitely taste how delicious this stuff is! Can’t wait to revisit it once my tastebuds are fully back

Great review! I hear mixed reviews about this bottle but I think it is delicious. I like the description of wild turkey leather. I call it funk or dirt, but im sure it is all the same note. I may switch to calling it leather. I will try it with water next time i drink it to see the difference. Cheers! 🥃
