Tong Hua (Piano) Hish Rendition
I consider Tong Hua (Fairytale) to be one of the best, if not the most artistically composed piano melodies ever created in the 21st century. No matter how many times it is played on the piano, someone comes around and re-interprets it again and again. it never gets old, That is the beauty of it.

Chicken Heart (Plawv Qaib) - Hmong Short Film
Переглядів 48 тис.5 років тому
Chicken Heart - Written and Directed by Hau Sij-hawm Yang (Qiab Plawv) - Short film Would you ever date someone if they had the same last name as you? Knowing full well that it is taboo within you're culture, facing the reality of being disowned, and leaving your family for the one you love. You hope that one day it will all be okay, but sometimes it never does. Is losing everything really wort...
Cas yuav nkim zog yug ua luaj. My words did not go to these actors but the people of one that acted this way.
What Dab Tsi
idgf what yall think but i would never let my kids marry same last name.
I’m glad to see this reality exist within the Hmong community. I’m aware of the same surname prohibition but I’m against this unwritten rule of couples dating someone of the same surname even when there’s no familial relation between the two families. This is one aspect within the hmong culture that needs to change. It’s better to have our hmongs marry and stick together than have them marry off to some other race of people especially those who are not hmong. That guy should’ve man up and marry her and taker her with him. I see this depicted in a film and it just angers me. We’re the same ethnic group of people but the custom oppose their own Hmong people yet it allows a different ethnic race to marry a hmong person. I can understand this guy’s sorrow having to dump her. I agree with that guy calling him a chicken as he should’ve man up and marry her regardless of the opposition.
It’s been 3 years and I’m still listening to this :)
Yes and no. I would like to because at least when we get married I don't have to worry about changing my last name. I mean feeling disowned hurts but I have to choose my own path and my own happiness I can't let my family control my life and control my happiness. It's my life and my choice. To me if it meant to losing everything I had I am willing to because I am with the person I love. I would like to suffer the hardship and pain in life with them.
Proves that the person who crosses boundaries will do it over and over again... also brings bad lucks.
Shits imberessin the taboo to the chicken heart is u eat it and u go blind should of put that as the script not yangs falling in love with yangs that’s insectin
Ua tau zoo kawg
Props for trying to make a film but PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE MAKING A FILM. When you're hmong, you can not date and marry your own last name. It is taboo and considered incest to the eyes of Hmong. Its a simple rule and there are and is many people out there for you to date and marry. Honestly this film should of gone a different direction or should of have been more directly stated that dating and marrying same last name is a no no. Ive seen it in real life of same last name getting together and marrying the U.S. law way. It is very awkward for both family involved because they dont know what to call each other. Some and or most families disown and cut off ties of their own children because of this. This film is a little bit confusing, storyline wise and message wise.
Sorry to say from a Yang family. But this video makes no sense. Why we don’t eat heart is not because of taboo. I’m a little offended by the mean of this video. Why because this tells me that this younger generation don’t know about their culture. Other than that great movie and acting bravo.
what a great song!
This artist needs to make more music. He is not discovered yet.
Yang n yang o no o no...dating yur own last name nasty...it like yur own sister
This is the worst in every direction. The director didn’t really think about the storyline before shooting it. It felt like the director got bored and just do it for fun. Waste of time.
The dad is such a great actor..!! He literally is the exact portrayal of Hmong olgies and their rules.
he look to young to be her daddy
Your movie is not make sense
I love chicken hearts!
Ya'll need a better camera man!
This movie is too cringy. Hmoob can't speak hmoob. Tsis zoo saib
Volume is way tooooo low!
For those who don't understand about the same last name thing. Just ask yourself this question, why do we have the same last name even though we r not related by blood. Too many decades ago, we all scattered to many places, we don't know the true story but please respect each other as if the same last names r all from the same dad.
Yet we have the same surname as the Chinese or Korean yet we don't identify as either. Moreover, a majority of Hmong choose not to identify as Chinese/Miaozu yet continue to have their surname.
Ommmggg I love this. I been waiting for a piano version.💕
Thank you and enjoy!
I understand that Hmong ppl with the same last name can’t marry each other but her dad is rude.
Hahaha
Lovey
chords ?
Great portrayal of a contemporary conflict in the Hmong community. I just want to correct the pronoun in the dialogue "peb" (you plus 2 or more) to "wb" (strictly you and another person). Also, nouns are usually before adjectives. So it'll be "plawv qaib." Overall, incredible job!!
Thank you Tou, appreciate the feedback and corrections.
😢
Fifty Shades of Grey?! HAHAHAHAHAHA. That's too funny.
Finallyy.❤
Isn't it plawv qaib?
Full song
So cute
Her dad kick her out and than yell at her for leaving...Haha so dumb
Hish-n-k Production can you guys do a full cover of the guy's version singing 'kuv hlub koj' as shown in the video 19:24. Please reply. I've been waiting.
Hahaha you aren't the only person who has asked, I know the artist is busy these days but I'll definitely ask.
@@HishnK thank you so muchhhhh.❤
this topic is stupid it's not just about taboo. the main reason you don't marry your own last name is to try to keep from inbreeding. why is there a question about it? do it if your life depends on it but know that your kids are put in the high category of defects. you might as well marry your brother or sister while you're at it.
Who the fuck cares anymore. Nguyen’s marry Nguyen’s. People marry their pet donkey. Get over it. 🙄
Nasty. This will never change. No matter how many generations. Sorry kids.. Sorry. Can't marry same last name. Inbreeding is not good for your kids.
My understanding is that they taboo. He chose to wed her. Have a son & son is curse. Son ate chicken heart & something bad will happen to son. Correct?
the next movie will be father wed his daughter and a mother wed her son.
Sorry but don’t like this movie
Idk why she’s still living with her parents and is afraid of getting kicked out. When she has her bachelors going on masters 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Because I know a lot of people with Bachelor's and Master's with no job.
A better mic for each of the characters would've made this video awesome.
Should be plawv qhaib
Hey taboo cause he ate a heart when he is a boy. And his curse was he fell in love with a Yang girl but can marry cause of there last name. If your confused.
That White guy spoke better Hmong than Hmong peeps this generation 😬
Why does the couple keep saying “peb” instead of “wb”? Are they in a three way relationship with a ghost too?
😬
I know right!!! She can’t speak proper Hmong!
19:24
Wonder if D. Yang knows they made a short film after him?
Replied
It annoys me when she said Peb as in US... its supposed to be Wb... js.....
