Fishing the SALMON FLY Hatch - Blacksmith Fork River, UT // Fishing with Wynston: Episode 2
Fly Fishing the Salmon Fly Hatch - Blacksmith Fork River - Utah
May 15, 2021
I had heard rumors that salmon flies were hatching on the Blacksmith Fork. To be honest, not being native to Utah and only living here for a couple of years, I did not even realize the Blacksmith Fork had salmon flies. When I think of salmon flies, I reminisce about incredible days on the Henry's Fork in Idaho, which I am hoping to catch in a couple of weeks (Memorial Day).
I was lucky enough to hit it just right and have my son along with me. We only fished for a couple of hours, but the action was steady and fishing was good. The fish large enough to swallow a salmon fly are somewhat sparse, so we covered a good bit of water. The larger fish were keyed into them, but not as aggressive as you might imagine. Several fish had to see the fly a few times before gaining the courage to attack.
I was fishing a single fly set up, but imagine using a salmon fly pattern for the lead fly and a nymph dropper would be a killer set up.
Thanks for tuning in. Hope you enjoy the video!

    Thanks for the review. Recently, I had Toyo Open Country AT3's installed on my 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD and I HATED them! With the Toyo's, my truck would literally bounce all over the road creating a very uncomfortable ride. After 2 rebalances within a couple of weeks of owning the Toyo's, they still rode like crap. So, I gave them back and switched to the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT's. Wow, the ride quality improvement was like night and day. I couldn't be more pleased with the Cooper tires and highly recommend them to anyone who drives a HD truck and does any towing.

I didn't get a notification for your comment for some reason. I searched online and ended up finding a better deal on BB Wheels online. I let Discount Tire know when I called in my order and they asked me to bring in a print out. I showed them as I was paying and they matched the price (saved me about $100 on the set of 4). I didn't personally get the "certificates" as those run another $40+ per tire and Discount Tire covers anything on the tire that is repairable and not on the sidewall. They've always taken good care of me, so I go back to them. You can find their official price match details/page below. www.discounttire.com/customer-service/low-price-guarantee

      Hi Johny - You actually may need to do some homework yourself as the at2 was not severe snow rated nor had the three peak snow symbol like the 3. Check any website, trucktrend.com as an example. Also, as mentioned in the video, the warranty is 50,000 miles on LT sizes and 65,000 for P/Euro-Metric sizes. Finally, it’s “offense”, not “offence”.

    Did you need to trim your crash bars to fit these? Saw in comments below you have an offset of +20. I have a 2017 F150 as well, and the wheels I'm looking at are +7 offset. How much poke would you say you have?

    • @benlee526
      @benlee526 3 роки тому

      Zero trimming or cutting of any kind. No rubbing at all. When you say poke, I assume you mean how far the wheels stick out from the body. If so, it’s maybe an inch. Not much at all really.

    • @adamwright4997
      @adamwright4997 3 роки тому

      @@benlee526 Great setup, and thanks for the reply! Yes "poke" in regards to amount of tire that sticks out of the fender. When it gets too far out there, it can throw mud/rocks all over the body of your truck off-road. Stoked to know I can fit a 34 on my truck, as long as I keep a decent positive offset. Tough to find! Most are zero or in the negative.
