July Wrap Up | Fantasy, Science-Fiction & Horror
I am with you with the hate for Tomorrow, Tomorrow and Tomorrow. I did not DNF it but I wish I had.
@@dallasisgood I’m glad I stopped reading it. The characters were making me angry.
Random thought- to give yourself a little more choice, what if you could move either way on the board? Right or left then you could choose the color prompt you wanted to pick!
@@ErinEPeterson1 ooh! I might need to consider that.
So many of those both on my favourites list and on my TBR!
Are you doing this again this year? I hope so!
@@AwkwardATurtle I am! There’s a whole new set of prompts too. I’ll announce in early August.
I just discovered your channel and I'm loving the kinds of books you rec! Many new entries for my tbr list
@@lesliejohnson67 thanks for watching. Hopefully you find some good reads.
Have you read Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart? Adorable animal companions in that series 🥰
@@andreabknight I loved Bone Shard. You’re right - they are adorable!
trying to keep up and read some of your books. will keep you posted of what 3 books I have read. should take about 2 weeks. I don't have as much time as you, so I can only cover HALF of the books to read.
Hey girl, how’s winter treating you down there in the southern hemisphere?
A little cold where I live, but perfect weather for reading.
I hadn't heard of "When among crows" but I read it because of you and I LOVED ❤️😍 it!!!! 6🌟's Thank you!!!!!
You’ve made me super excited to pick it up. Might be my first read of the month!
I can't even explain to you how excited I was to see this. I'm home sick today, so seeing you had posted just absolutely brightened my day!
I’m so glad. I hope you’re feeling better.
I loved Half a Soul. I hope you enjoy it as well, along with your other reads. Have a great month.
It sounds great. Will be nice to have a cosy read.
So glad you are enjoying Stormlight! Words of Radiance is my favourite in the series so far.
I’m so looking forward to it!
I'm currently in the Disc World!!! I love him.
I expected to love Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow and it just let me down so much I think the hype really got to it. I hope you enjoy it. I have way of kings but it intimidates me so much so I've not read it yet aha
I highly recommend the Way of Kings. I read it super quickly - couldn’t put it down. I’m hoping I’ll like Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow.
@@tashslibrary oh that's actually really good to know. I've been in a Sanderson mood lately so maybe I'll pick it up soon
you sure have a lot of books
just put part one for sanderson's way of kings
this is a great way to get book reccommendations to read for my new list and to find out what the books are about [ when you give a brief book cover introduction what the book is about ]
My absolute favourite Bradbury book! Hope you enjoy it! Also loved Tomorrow x3!
Great TBR!! Tomorrow x3, Six of Crows, and The Way of Kings were all easy 5 stars for me. Hope you love them all!!
I’m looking forward to them all.
The Wolf in the Whale went immediately onto my wishlist. It sounds amazing. I just found the Six of Crows Duology at a used bookstore. I am reading Ruin and Rising in June, then I am hoping I can pick up Six of Crows in July or August. I hope your reads go well. Have a great month.
I’m really looking forward to the Wolf in the Whale. Hope your reading goes well.
Six of Crows was great!
I still wish I could buy this game! It looks like so much fun to play each month!
Enjoy way of kings! As you say it might be best to focus on reading just book 1 first as it is quite a slow/detailed read. I wouldn't leave a large gap though between book 1 and 2 as easy to forget a lot of the details.
I will try to read them both because I’m loving it.
I love your pencil case concept. I have found that as long as my reading taste hasn't massively drifted, I enjoy the TBR veterans as much as I do new books I have bought. This is helping me read all those older books! I haven't read six of crows but enjoy!
I also love the TBR veterans. I think I just get seduced by new releases and keep putting off the others.
I'm aiming for a Yoda Bounty Hunter- and I am definitely getting the Porg- so cute!
Super cool. The porg is adorable.
I am interested in reading the Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. I hope your reads go well. Have a great month.
So many 6s! Sounds like a good tbr.
I hope you enjoy The 7 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle.
Wow, those dice chose violence!!! Still love this game!
The dice definitely had an agenda. 😆
The way I play my Bookopoly game is +1 for doubles and+1 for the same roll twice so your rolls would get me +4 for the first 4 rolls.
Wow! That could make for a hectic TBR. Very cool idea.
What are the chances of rolling all those double sixes? 😅 I read The Truth a few months ago and it's now my favourite Discworld book apart from The Watch series (granted I have not read all the Discworld yet lol)
It was a bit crazy! I love Discworld and am really looking forward to re-reading them. It’s been a long time!
Someone else reading A Demon in the Desert for that square!! I hope it's as fun as it sounds. I found the Ted Chiang collection really solid as well.
It sounds fun. It’s on my May TBR, so I’ll find out soon.
Fathomfolk mostly takes place above water. It still has underwater scenes, though, so since you're not trying to get hard mode it will still count for the square!
I’ll read it anyway, but will keep an eye out for other underwater/underground books.
Have you read any books by Mercedes Lackey? She's very prolific - her books would fit many of the prompts on this bingo card if you are looking for something! She has books about bards (a whole series in fact), books published in the 90s (and is still publishing currently), and a lot of the others.
I’ll have to look into her books. I’ve been hearing good things about them.
7 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle was AMAZING! Do give it at least 100-150 pages before you DNF because the beginning is (intentionally) very confusing. The conclusion was 🤯
I’m so looking forward to this one. My boyfriend loved it, so I will definitely keep reading even if confused.
Great list and I am planning to join in the r/fantasy bingo this year as well.
It’s a fun way to read some different books.
Great list!! Currently reading The Way of Kings and am having a great time! And I recently read A River Enchanted and really enjoyed it too 😊
Thanks. I’m looking forward to the books I’ve chosen. Glad to hear that you enjoyed A River Enchanted and enjoying The Way of Kings
@@tashslibrary thank you! I hope you love those and all the others 😊
Nettle and Bone is sooooo good!
I loved it!
I love your new board and cards! Are you able to make them for sale? I would love to own this game!!!
I will post a copy of the board and prompts in my next TBR video. I can probably make the cards available through Makeplayingcards. I’ll look into it.
@@tashslibrary thank you! It’s a great game
I love Terry Brooks! 💜
Me too! Such good reads.
I'm happy to see another person who has enjoyed The Hexologists! I'm looking forward to the next book in the series too! Bancroft laid the groundwork for such a rich world and magic system and I can't wait to explore more of it.
I loved the Hexologists. Definitely can’t wait for the sequel.
I read The Monsters We Defy last fall, and I loved it! I hope you do too. 😁 I definitely thing this book could cure a reading slump!
I’m actually struggling through it at the moment. But I’ll persevere.
Seeing your excitement about the new board had me smiling so much! I love this! I also absolutely loved Dead Silence, I can't wait to hear what you think of it!
Thanks for watching. I enjoyed Dead Silence but didn’t find it scary or tense. I was a little disappointed.
Dead Silence has been on my wishlist forever! I really hope I can pick it up soon. I originally listened to Priory. When I reread it physically, I broke it down onto sections to read each day, which really helped. I hope your reads go well.
I loved Priory - ended up reading it in a few days. Dead Silence was an interesting read but definitely not scary/tense for me.
I loved dead silence. It was wild
It was a solid read, but I didn’t find it particularly scary or tense.
I read the Tainted Cup last month and loved it! I hope you enjoy it!
It’s one of my best reads of the year. So good!
I really want to read The Tainted Cup sometime soon, it sounds amazing!! I need to get back to Nettle and Bone, I put it down a while back but I think I would love it now. Oh and I’ll be curious to hear what you’ll think of The Wishing Game! So many people have loved it but I DNF’ed it 😬😆
I loved Tainted Cup and Nettle &Bone. Haven’t got to the Wishing Game yet, but I’ll keep you posted.
@@tashslibrary Yay, glad you loved those two! Definitely looking forward to hearing your thoughts on The Wishing Game, I hope you love it! 😊
I love your tbr😍 your tbr game looks amazing can i ask where did you make it? True a website or something? 😅
I created the board in Canva. The cards were made on make playing cards.
You are so nice so gorgeous
I had similar feelings about In the Lives of Puppets! I LOVED the first like 150 pages with all of the banter and the precious lil baby bean that is Rambo, but I felt like the romance didn't do much for me. I felt like there was so much potential with their dynamic but they didn't have much chemistry for me!
Agreed. I started losing interest as the book progressed.
