Wicked Catch Myrtle Beach Surf & Pier Fishing | 8 multi-species day
I took a surf rod on vacation challenging myself to catch as many ocean fish species as possible. But there is a catch, this was my second time ever surf fishing and first time pier fishing on the ocean. I had only one morning on the beach and afternoon on the historical Apache Pier to chase the bite. This vacation fishing adventure didn’t disappoint. I’m now truly addicted to ocean fishing.
Episode 09 - 8 species caught to include Atlantic Croaker, Florida Pompano, Atlantic Sharpnose, Whiting, Sting-ray, Spadefish, Pinfish and Blue fish.

My Fishing Story Begins - Channel Teaser - Why We Fish???
Love the Atlantic Ocean great video just subscribed
That makes two of us! Can’t wait to get back! Thanks for support! 🎣
Its a damn wonder you haven't sold the house and moved down, welcome to Carolina. If you ever make the move HMU ill take you out on the boat on Murrells inlet.
No $hit lol, not joking I may be nudging the wife to seriously consider it. Coastal fishing is all I think about and watch on the tube these days and how I can make another trip out just for fishing! I got it bad man haha! Would love to fish Murrels inlet, watched now a few vids chasing big kings and reds.
Great video buddy!! What an awesome opportunity to catch different species of fish!! Keep up the great work!!
Thanks Steve!
Pretty good for August. September and October are the best times, particularly for whiting. (I grew up three blocks from Myrtle Beach). I'd usually use cut mullet for blues, black drum or red drum. Trout hang around the rock outcrops at around 47th Avenue North. I used to watch a guy surf fish for large sharks by paying a surfer to take his bait 100 yards out and drop it. The big challenge on the piers were sheepshead which hang around the pilings. Fiddler crabs worked best on them. Murrell's Inlet is good for flounder and trout. It's possible to go to the end of the pier and get king mackerel.
Great feedback, I tried for hours after the storm to fish the pier columns hard for sheepshead. I caught a smaller red drum day after in the surf. Definitely coming back for the Mack’s run lol look like a blast to catch!
Whats the Macks run. Coming down second week in September and really wana get on em. Usually fish outer banks@beeksoutdoors
@@andrewnosal2106 I was referring to coming down in August-early Sept when the Spanish “Mack”erels are most likely running through that area. Neat to watch how crazy the piers get when they are in the area.
When I'm fishing on the beach, beside bonnethead, every shark I catch looks like a blacktip. I can't tell the difference.
lol I felt stupid but it was honestly so new to me fishing the coast and just how many species are out there. I later in the room learned the blacktip young are born much bigger. I’m jealous you have a beautiful fishery sad I only got one day at it, I’m hooked and definitely gonna be back for more filming!
Awesome stuff
Thanks, hopefully so more lake trout videos coming soon!
Just wondering about the slow motion clips about the missed fish?!
It was to reflect the sadness I felt losing a fish 😂 as a joke. Just being goofy, I’m a goofball at heart never taking anything serious.
@@beeksoutdoors sounds good, thank you.
I was the person who asked if you where a UA-camr when at the peer to prove it it was in Myrtle beach keep up the grind
Thanks, be on the lookout for that episode lol.
Awesome video, back of my mind all I could hear the whole time was you calling a riffle a rifle…….. smoker smallie man!!!
lol Thanks, I caught bigger smallies on the lakes but this one on this river was one I’ll remember.
Where are you at in this video to me it looks like causey
The first part of the video was on a high mountain Uinta lake called lost lake about 10200’ early ice. The next video was at red creek reservoir. Both great areas for tigers! Hope this helps
Hey brother I am a retired veteran and I would love to have you take me out fishing. I will also pay you!
I never charge to fish with lol, and love fishing with anyone whiling to share the waters. Hit me up on my Facebook page messenger see what we can do. Appreciate your service! Father was military and I’ve been 26+ working for AF, have lots of love for the military community
That looks like a ton of fun!!
Will be posting this fishing trip next video! 9 species, completely different then high elevation mountain fishing lol
@@beeksoutdoors looking forward to watching it man!!
Well, I just stumbled upon one of my new favorites. Good job algorythm. I haven't fished the Ogden river in 15 years but Utah content is always welcome.
Thanks for the kind words! Never too late to revisit an old stomping ground. Any great places you recommend?
@@beeksoutdoors had a blast catching Wipers in Willard bay last weekend. Bug spray is recommended
@@ToxicOne801 wife dislikes the bugs out there lol. You trolling, casting or shoreline fishing?
@@beeksoutdoors casting with cooked mussels. The mosquitos are thick out there for sure but they aren't quite as bad out on the water. My buddy brings one of those personal mosquito nets that goes over his hat and then wears long sleeves and pants on the shore and he swears he is usually fine. Wipers are one of my favorite fish because they fight so hard.
my aunt and uncle live in eden, if we ever visit them defo going here. aint no trout fishing near me
In the intro the music was booming and the voice sounded like a whiney bitch.
The Small Mou Bass Assocaition legally stocked the lower weber back in the early 90s I suppose thye coudl ahve got in ot the ogden from there
I mean pineview is right up the road with small mouth in it
@@tzallinorzamond3460 that is a possibility as well but i mentioned this to my dad and he says we stocked the ogden river back then too so i mean i suppose its rare but not that surprising
My thoughts exactly, this SMB snuck down and has been enjoying the Browns and bow snacks making home in that stretch.
You should have kept that bass.
I like the hook set up!
Nice catch.Had a monster tiger Muskie hit my tiny klash a few years ago on the Ogden River unfortunately both trebbles were outside of mouth and pulled the bait out on hookset 🤦🏻♂️
I bet you were 💩 your pants and heart pumping when it smashed your line. Sorry you didn’t land it, my goal on day is land one on that river. O for 478 attempts 😆
ha ogden river good luck utah fishing sucks ass
Just say you suck at fishing
People that say the fishing sucks suck at fishing 🤷🏼♀️
Hey that’s why I travel all over to fish… show people that can’t travel areas to fish. I fish the best of what the state offers. My favorite state to fish fresh waters has to be Alaska, born and raised with a rod in hand! But appreciate your honest feedback. Love to hear some good waterbodies you 👍 like. Cheers
Utah fishing. I've got 10 lb cutthroat trout, 15 lb lake trout, 7 lb brown and 8 lb rainbow, 20 lb channel cat, Various thousands of others of many species. Utah suckers, carp, sunfish, bluegill, bass, walleye, etc. You definitely aren't much of a fisherman sir.
@@hydraxc2478 definitely if ya know how open your eyes in Utah there are plenty of species and trophies here!
Love Utah and the fishing! Great content
Thanks 🙏
Willard cats its easier than most places to get cats on cranks there are hardly no snags.
Total agree, that spot though is normally good for a few shallow water walleyes on the caster. I’m not a fan of trolling there although I know that’s the best way to target them there. Darn Willard cats sometimes though lol.
Love the sharpshooter! And the Ogden River is a beautiful local gem!
Totally agree, I need to post my sharp shooter videos, need to get more people trying them…
Your channel popped up today in my feed as a suggestion. I do a lot of ice fishing this time of year in Alberta, Canada. Not much for tiger trout here. This was a fun watch! I subscribed, too. Hope to keep in touch.
Thanks for support, have to have fun & keep it entertaining. I saw you have a channel as well and I will total check out some north action… thanks again!
Great video dude!!! You're killing the UA-cam game!
That’s brother! Just watched your early ice blues vid. Great pan day!
@@beeksoutdoors THANKS MAN!!!
Love the video keep up the good work
Thanks for the support! Comments like this keep me motivated to keep it spicy lol… thanks again!
Do you have problems with the braid sucking up water and freezing your reel that’s what has stopped me from using braid on my ice rods
Only when temps are stupid cold I’ve ran into issues and then it doesn’t matter what you run. but my secret is having the larger reels like 2500’s or the 3000 seen on this episode. You gave me a great idea I’ll show the why I run bigger reels even on pan fish and the struggles when you have a smaller series 1000 in cold temps vs a 3000. Great question curious what others anglers Input on the braid vs cold weather struggles.
Good day at lake 2. We couldn't find anything but the planters all day. Good to see the Tigers are still in there and healthy. That ice was wicked slick. Nice call on the Jawjacker hit.
Hi, found your channel through the comments section of Bait'n Bullets channel. wanted to stop by to check out your channel and show some support. subbed. I would love to catch a tiger trout in the future. pretty difficult to find here in lower NYS.
Appreciate the support! An absolutely amazing fish to hold! Just sharing my love and passion to entertain while fishing species some may never target or want to explore. This is a new channel but I’m sure plenty of future episodes you will be able to relate with to include the big browns I see out your way. You have way more fish out there and I’d struggle to do anything but fish out there lol!
Banger of a video Derek‼️I really enjoyed this one ☝️ Looking forward to the next episode. What next two lakes are you targeting?
Thanks Pimp! I don’t want to give away to much lol… have to keep everyone on the toes… hint B creek and C creek I’m sure you’ll know.
@@beeksoutdoors Awww YEAH Boooy‼️ Straight up FOMO over here. Can’t wait.
I love the intro and the humor man! great start to the season!
Just an 18 at heart man! I’m sure one of these episodes we join forces… would love to have a cutthroat war or challenge amongst us creators on the berry in an all out war challenge lol side by side.

Hello sir I am a UA-cam Expert .I saw some problem in your channel .Can I give some tips about your UA-cam Channel? am waiting for your response Thank You💗💗💗
I appreciate the offer but this guy is ok, I don’t see a fishy profile pic 😆, and your channel is only 6 days old…. Suspicious 🤨.
wow💞💞
Just ate burbot for the first time this week.. realized I’m a visual eater😂. As decent as it tasted, I couldn’t get over the fact of what I was actually eating. Burbot look Freakn nasty.
That’s funny, are you doing an episode on the dirty burbs lol? How did you cook or eat them?
@@beeksoutdoors Yup! I got invited out to do a two night stay in some shacks. One night the scurvy burby was deep fried, and the next it was ‘cooked like a halibut’ in garlic butter on a pan. One and done I think for me though
Them dirty burbs are delicious!!!
Dang… I like that line, never heard that “dirty burbs” stealing that for another episode lol
@@beeksoutdoors it's all yours buddy!! Haha
60% of the time Burbot taste good every time. Looks mouth watering delicious! Thanks for the fun videos.
Haha, thanks for your funny comments every episode… and of course the support!
Trolling is the only way I’ve ever caught Lakers and big Lakers at that in Bear Lake.
I haven’t really broken down that lake like I should, usually laker fishing for me has been the gorge but I can totally see trolling to cover more water and provoke a bite. I purposely left the troll gear to only vertical fish. I am for sure going to do some trolling on that lake next open “warmer” season.
It is so good
Only those that have tried it know lol… how do you cook it?
Fillet marinate and grill or pan fry
That music, good lort!
Which song…think I may have covered every genre of music in the episode lol?
that opera haha, good vid @@beeksoutdoors
Great catch and cook Derek. Made those Burbs look tasty. 👍
Burbot are really good 👍
Waste of bread💀😭
What if I told ya the bread was moldy…would that help? Lol
@@beeksoutdoors yes lol 😆
🤢🤮
GROSS is what it is.
It’s a burbot fish, a raw one and plate of cooked burbot. They are actually good eating lol but they are nasty snake looking!
Like your idea of a single hook. Lose a lot of Rapalas because of that middle snagging hook. Little C-5 sinking rainbow seems to work best for me.
Great color choice, the rainbow is my go to color on the Utah rivers.
I subscribed😎
