Where can I get a sample contingency agreement?

I signed a contingency agreement... Then, when I asked for more details found out the roofer (or at least the salesman) really didn't know how to deal with my brand new vinyl siding ($40,000 worth). Now, I'M having to get quotes on getting the vinyl siding R&R'd. How am I supposed to protect myself? I'm not trying to steal money. I'm trying to find a competent roofer.

From personal experience, as a homeowner, I’ve discovered 3 days isn’t enough. I cancelled one after 9 days. I was recovering from COVID and I had a bad feeling this person was a scammer after going over his company and how things were presented.

Guys knock the crap off about "does the roofing company get to keep all the insurance money if i sign?". Well no crap they do! Insurance is in buisiness of Making Money, so why on earth would they "over pay" for an insurance claim?. My advice is to give the contractor the checks, pay youre deductible, shut up and get out of the way!

So does that allow you to overcharge the insurance company?

Isn't that a part of doing business? What about the owner's time? I am feeling like I am not going down this path with anyone, so tell your friends to stop knocking on my door.

Never sign anything. I signed one agreeing to have all work done and all I have to pay is the deductible. Once we sat down to sign the actual contract they wanted $1400 deductible, $700 for upgrade to shingles and $1650 to do something that was part of the claim. I told him no way I will look for someone who will only charge me a deductible and not extra crap. He tried to use the first agreement against me and I told him to go f himself

The roofing sign contract with me and said " is null and void if the insurance does not give a fair amount of money for the roof." the question is that work for the home owner sign the contract with the roofer.

Its fair game until the shingles are on the roof
