I'm going to conquer Hallasan too ☺️ Nice video!
Thanks for sharing, ive been solo at the main land seoul, busan, daegu. Now planning to jeju. Thanks for the video. Makes me confident to go jeju soloing.
Jinnie is really amazing he climbed hallasan just to make Army happy right after 2 days of being discharged from military. And here I am searching for this mountain. I realised his sincerity for us. Thank you my king 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Hello bro, your videos are very useful me who will go solo. How and where to check bus wating time, when you chose route from...to...?
Thanks for sharing about transporation.
gr8 video, I am planning to go in the month of November. How long did it take for you to reach the summit and what time according to you would be ideal to climb? kindly suggest, thankyou.
Hi, I am not sure what season it will be by November. For my trip, I set apart 8-9 hours for the entire hike. I suggest to start as early if you can. During my trip, I started at 7am and came down around 3pm. I hope this helps
@@travelwithme.roland thankyou 👍
Appreciated your sharing on the detailed hiking at both trails. We are planning to hike there in Aug too. If we park at the eastern trail , are there taxi available when we exit at Gwaneumsa trail ?
It may be hard for get taxi after you exit the trail. There are buses available, it may take some time to wait for the bus to come. Yet it is a feasible option. I waited around 30min
@@travelwithme.roland appreciated your reply . Will find out more on transport . Thank you ☺️
Hi in reply to getting taxi exit point at Gwaneumsa trailhead. We booked a taxi through Kakao T apps ( back to seonpanek where we parked our vehicle ~KW$15 ) . Hiked hallasan in mid August , hot weather but clear view from summit.
@@angelorose3250 Nice! I hope you enjoyed the hike! I love to try hiking up again in autumn or winter some day :)
Which month is this
August
Is jacket needed in August @@travelwithme.roland
@@suschd9460 It is helpful to bring a waterproof jacket or rain gear in case it rains.
Really helpful,tq!
thank you a lot for both videos! last time i was in Korea, i didn't have enough confidence for such a hike, but this time i'm going to Korea in several months and i really want to see Hallasan myself. and thank you for sharing the route from Seogwipo cause thats where i'm going to stay too!
enjoy your hike! :)
Hallo, thanks for the video, i am gonna hv a stop over in Jeju for a night next month
Hi, can you share where do u base yourself after landing in early morning via public transport? I will be doing a semi-solo 7 days trip. My initial plan is 4N in seogwipo free&easy fully on public transport not sure if it’s feasible than last 3n in Jeju city maybe join day tour
I spent first days in Seongsan Ilchulbong to hike the Sunrise peak early the next morning, subsequent few days in Seogwipo and last few days in Jeju City. Ur plan sounds good! With the last few days in Jeju City, it is easier to get back to airport on the last day also. Do check out the Dongmun Market :)
Many thanks for your videos!! really helpful! , can you share your experience after the hiking? is it really tiring? I have an event in Jeju, i am planning whether I can hike before the day of the event.
Hi, thanks for your encouragement. It is hard to answer your question because it is subjective to individual. So just sharing from my point of view, it was tiring but still manageable (can walk but muscle aching) . Perhaps, just note it will take 8-9hrs to hike up and down. There are two routes, the Seongpanak trail is easier if you really consider trying (can see my previous vid). Gwaneumsa Trail (in this vid) is tougher because the steps are steeper.
thanks for sharing about buses ..
I really enjoyed the video! It was super helpful for planning my hike next month. Could you let me know the perfect time to start climbing the mountain? Thanks!
I think if u set apart 8-9hours for the ascend and descend. It will be optimal to start between 6-7am from the trail entrance. Suppose if you rent a car and is planning to start and end at the same trail entrance, this means you can afford to reach earlier (i.e. at 6am). But I took bus, so I could only start at 7am. Hope this helps :)
Great video! Really helpful information on the logistics and the need to book ahead. Roughly how far in advance do you think you should book?
it depends I guess. I think there will be some periods where more people will climb (i.e. weekends, or over public holidays). It will be ideal to book in advance before your trip, just to be sure you reserved your slot :)
Thank you very much for the video. I am planning on going to jeju next year and im still deciding on whether to rent a car or to use public transportation. Looking forward to your future videos 🤗
If you can drive, it will be faster to cover more grounds and you get to explore more, especially if you only have a few short days in Jeju. If you have more time, taking bus is a meaningful way to explore the island at a slower pace. I will be editing my next video soon for instructions of renting car in Jeju :)
Hi thanks for the info on the bus really helpful I was planning a 4 day trip to jeju so was thinking of going to stay on the south first then go explore or shld I change hotel along the way, please advise
It is really up to you (to stay at Seogwipo city (the the south if you like). With 4 days, you can consider staying 2 nights at Seogwipo city (South) and the last 2 days at Jeju City (North). It is more practical and convenient to travel to the airport on your last day if you are at Jeju City. :)
@@travelwithme.roland thanks for the practical and helpful tips 👍
Thanks for the video. How did you get back to Seogwipo?
I took bus back. You can check using Naver Map to see which bus route is the faster
Many thanks for your review. I plan to hike as your trip on 1 apr, help ensuring my decision a lot. Hope i have a good trip as well 😊
That's great. Don't forget to check the weather. This is a useful website shared to me by a backpacker I met on my trip - www.mountain-forecast.com/peaks/Hallasan/forecasts/1950 Also remember to make your reservation as well. Link in description for this video. Check out my ascend video (via Seongpanak Trail) if you haven't. Take care and Enjoy your hike! :) ua-cam.com/video/EZOYaCJe0Pg/v-deo.html
Can I use suica card or passmo

I really enjoyed both your videos on Mt Hallasan! Was making plans for this hike and feel so lucky to stumble upon your videos, they're really helpful! If I plan to follow your route (ascending via Seongpanak and descending via Gwaneumsa) do I need to make a booking for both the trails or just the ascend trail? Thank you..
For my hike, I have booked only based on my ascent trail - Seongpanak. I did not have to book for both trails. I hope this helps. Enjoy your hike too :)
Are the stops displayed on screen in the bus or announced? I can read Hangul and speak a bit Korean, but Listening Comprehension is difficult. I am watching your videos with interest these days. I will go to Jeju in May and try to prepare extra well beacuse I travel wiith my Mom. We want to visit many places you have been too. Unfortunately I lack the courage to "embrace what ever comes along". So I am spending days over Maps. Maybe when I have travelled more often I can be more spontaneous, too..
Hi, it is displayed on the screen but I can't remember if they announced it. It is in Korean so it may be hard to understand. When on bus, I will always turn on my Naver Maps with my phone to track my location. It is generally accurate, you can see all the bus stops on the route and where you are, so you will miss your stop. I hope this helps. :)
Thanks for sharing , useful tips
Thank you :)
This whole area is magnificent! Watching this just makes me feel good my friend!

Welcome
With the single trip ticket boarding from torokko saga, are we able to hop back on the train after getting off at the 1st station (bamboo forest) with the same ticket? Or have to purchase again?
No, you will have to buy again. Unless you buy a round trip ticket from the start. I hope this is have helpful
I saw it’s fully booked only for Saga romantic train . Do we still have chance to buy it at the place ?
Yes, you can buy at the station. If seated tickets can be sold out, they will indicate 'fully booked'; then the staff will sell the Standing Tickets (which is the case for me and my family).

hello! when did you buy ICOCA? Do you know if it's still available in KIX on Aug 30?
Hi, I bought the card in late June this year. You can try buying the ICOCA card at Kansai Airport Station either from the automated machines or directly from the counter. The station is not inside the airport, it is a short walking distance away from the airport. I remember from the arrival hall, I took an escalator up and walked out of the airport, then you will be able to see the train station. See if this link helps: osakaairport.com/kix/public_transport/train.htm
