Hi Ashley, that was such a lovely chat and catch-up with what you’ve been making and reading and watching! And thank you for your kind words about my channel! I will definitely go and check out the channels that you mentioned which I haven’t come across before. The plain sock pattern that I always use is a free King Cole Sox Again pattern which I think is still available to download. I left teaching because all the admin just became too onerous and I’m very happy now being my own boss doing my piano teaching at home. A couple of my teaching friends, like you, decided to become supply teaching assistants and were so much happier doing that! xx

I love your cowl with your sweater, they complement each other so nicely. You’re my only knitting channel, as I don’t really knit. I do have a couple of loom knitting channels I subscribe to, but haven’t watched either in a while as I haven’t loom knitted for a while. I’m in the mood to do some again though. Plan to try to find my looms and yarn tomorrow. I was subscribed to three book clubs before Covid but had stopped them as we were preparing to go cross country with our camper for about three months. Then Covid hit and we didn’t get to go. I haven’t read an entire book since. I started one when my husband was in the hospital and only have a small amount left to read, but just haven’t finished. I find myself scrolling through UA-cam videos and shorts more than anything. I watch very little tv, but may watch a bit more when the new season starts back.

I wanted to add that I enjoyed your podcast and subscribed. I love the duck and the little mole. And yes I do talk to my creations and invent little stories to tell my grandchildren when I gift the personalized animals. I actually find it hard to send them out in the world! I’m also into the gnome KALs by Canadian Imagined Landscapes. I love them too!

I can recommend Kay Litton of Crazy Sock Lady Designs. She has a vanilla sock for 9” circs with a slipped stitch heel with gusset. I like her sock patterns very much, I have several I bought on Ravelry (plymouthknits). She also has the vanilla socks with other needle types too.

Oh dear Ashley! Have you tried cutting off lengths and attaching them to bobbins? I use some that are really meant for embroidery thread, but they work well enough.

I’m sorry about your balls and for your very sad face, but for some reason I found this video so funny.

I feel your pain! Try threading them through a piece of card to separate them, would that work?

Hi I've only just come across your video. I was hoping to go to this show but wasn't able to in the end, so was interested what it was like. In your video it looked great😃love your purchases especially the alpaca jewellery. The greens skeins look great together and as I've just subscribed I'll be looking forward to seeing the project you make with them. I've bought from ducky darlings before and like their colourways but I think my favourite has to be lay family yarns and I'm really looking forward to hopefully meeting Kelly at the next wool show.

Margot Mole rings well, as for WIP overwhelm I came to a crunch late last year when I had too many WIPS for me and became overwhelmed so my challenge this year was to pick up those projects and just get them finished. That meant no commissions or promises to anyone else. It has been a productive year but still a way to go, doesn’t stop me starting new projects though but I am only working on stuff for myself 💪🤭

The stocking needs finishing Ashley! So close, and such a lovely project! I watched this whilst sewing up my cardigan and currently debating whether to buy some Drops Air on wool warehouse for more cardigans! When I'm overwhelmed I make a list, then still struggle to cross off everything!!

Martha is a sweet name for Mole !!!! I found quite a few knitting patterns for simple baby hats on Ravelry and a few i'm sure were free. I did one with a knot in the top like an umbillical cord. It was super cute. x

I would work through the nearly finished projects first. It would give such a sense of achievement to have lots of finished objects. How about Molly for your knitted mole?

I’ve had no desire to craft since January, but watching your knitting videos has me wanting to pull out my looms and loom knit some dish scrubbies. Mine is starting to wear out and I feel like it’s something I’d like to do. I don’t know how to knit with needles, but I can loom knit. I’ve got the yarn, all I need to do is get everything out and start. I think it might be good for my mental health too.

I’m not a knitter I prefer crochet but also got so many projects not finished. I thought “ Molinda “ for the mole 😊

Just to say in the book there is a section Sewing the head to the Body - Attach the head to the top of the body using mattress stitch (see techniques. Casting On and Stitches) sewing around the row of decreases near the top of the body. Hope that helps with your lovely duck. x

All of my projects are written on a slip of card each and pinned up on my board. I’ve been asked on my channel so will be talking about it soon it helps keep the over projecting out of my head and in sight! 😄 Love the dormouse pattern so have downloaded. We used to have dormice in the garden. Long gone now. How about Madeleine Mole? I have the A&C stocking to start yet from last year. For this year? Who knows.

The Latin for mole is ‘Talpa’, which would be a nice name for the beautiful knitted mole you have made. Alternatively, if you fancy a bit of alliteration, ‘Maeve’ would be good, and is the Irish name for someone who is beautifully intoxicating. My autumn knits are socks for various Christmas presents, plus finishing off 3 partially complete crochet blankets - again for gifts. Like you, I have been putting off the thought of them, but with September here in a couple of days, it really is time to get moving. Jinny

Really liked the peaceful opening views and music. Your mole is so cute. Without a head the duck looks like it could be a bunny. Look forward to seeing both finished and dressed in their finery. The sock is nice too. I think if I knitted, socks would be a problem for me because I tend to get bored making the same exact thing over.
