Sister says she spreads spackle over half dollar tree styrofoam ball. ( This would stretch your spackling.) The brilliant touch from you is adding the spackle skirting to the bottom. Thank you for helping us crafters!

It's an untrue comparison, because you have two coats on two parts, both of those having the first coat supposedly acting as a sealer to minimuse textured appearance. Your "control", only has 1 coat of substance. Not a true representation.

Tip...once you have the ice cream in the scoop, add some more spackle to the edge of scoop with tongue depreser and its all you need. the edge will be there with less steps. AWESOME video, thanks so much for the Dollar Tree tip, a lot less $ doing it that way!

Hey, just wanted to say you can add naptha to make this more runny for pouring over detailed stuff. its good thick mold material as is though, I like it to make rubber stamps. This is not food safe, by the way. The cornstarch can allow microbes to flourish. _Ge sillicone 2_ has antimicrobials in it, but I still would be wary, at least give it a brief wash or quick wipe with isopropyl after and before each use

You can also for dried out foam clay, add it to a mixture of shampoo and water and you can reuse it. I know people say you couldn't do that but with the mixture of shampoo and water and not leaving it soaking for a long time. And properly working it until it's proper binded, it actually will remain usable and will harden the way it did prior. I haven't wasted any clay at all if once hardened the project shrank to an unusable.size.

I bought 20 styrofoam cones to make into Christmas trees and I just painted them with white interior wall paint, and it worked perfectly. There's no need to use Mod Podge on styrofoam, just paint it.

You clearly didn’t watch the video that shows what happens when you just paint it without sealing first, and you’re clearly not making professional art. Anyone who cares about what they’re making doesn’t want bubbles, or a holey texture.

I do a layer with paper and clue, it makes it absolutely smooth. fine modeling paste I am trying now, but think the glued paper works best. Then I sand it and paint acrylic binder or finished at least twice over it. Gesso is on top of all that as a base for painting.
