Preston Hill Pond 7.6.2024
Our magnificent meadows
If you have walked through any of our meadows lately you will likely have been struck by how much they have shot up with the abundance of wild flowers and grasses.
The wet weather coupled with the sunny spells have led to an explosion of colour and variety, not forgetting the no mowing in May, as far as is possible but some places do need access to be maintained. Around Westbrook Hay and Preston hill are particularly beautiful at the moment with masses of buttercups, trefoils, red and white clover flowers, ox-eye daisies, hawkbits, birds foot trefoils, yellow rattles, orchids and colourful grass seed heads to name but a few.
A magical sight to behold and a veritable banquet for the invertebrates!
