She’s so amazing live!! You can tell who really has talent if they’re just as good live (or better - which Tori pretty much is, IMO) as they are on their albums. And she’s just a great live performer! She pulls you into her storytelling.
I’ve loved her since 1998 but her live music has always blown me away so much more than her albums. It’s hard to explain to someone who’s only heard her on the radio how transcendent her live performances are in comparison to her recorded songs. You have to experience it.
I wish I could have seen this tour but this was around the time when I first heard of Tori. I am grateful that I've seen at least one show from every tour since plugged 98. Time zooms by quickly. Tori is still amazing.
I am in love with that Soliloquy-esque explanation for the songs origin, as well as how smoothly she transitions from ending the story to beginning to play.
Whenever I getdrug psychosis I get high religiosity and I hear this song with underwater siren angels singing just the melody no words, it makes me keep going back lol, but I know when I hear the music to sit very still and not make any waves and just enjoy the psychosis world.
Sometkmes i just play the intro over and over when i smoke. As a young guy i used to love the 92 thru 96 stuff. The underwater angels thing sounds bout right lol
That intro thats the overdub in the original is sooooo good. I used to love that shed separate those overdubs in concerts because it gave you a new insight to the song almost. I remember she did that with donut song with the "houston" section. Father lucifer too. 92, 94, 96 were some really full bodied years. Nothing watered down in any of that.
Its so funny the "repressed childhood" comments - clearly she got away from it, not all of us are born into perfectly realized families, we've gotta pave the path, that's what we do as conscious beings. This interview is one of my "go to's" always makes me laugh. That and the German TV "Hi my name is Tori Amos and I have a nine inch cock" interview.
This video is on my top list. It's lesser quality, but I enjoy the artfull redendition. Tori is a deity to me, so I have to include this. It's in Baltimore after all. God thank the bootleggers out there.
This has always been a favorite Christmas song but Tori brings something so special to it...beautiful and very moving,i have that prickly feeling behind my eyes that says I'm close to tears...Thank you for posting this, and I wish everyone the happiest of holidays :) Take good care, all
Probably the least frequently performed song from Little Earthquakes?
Amazing 👏 🤩 🙀

I love that she opens it by singing the backing vocals from the finale. I LOVE those lyrics - and they're missed when she leaves them out.

Those girls are gone…… we are all 40 now lol
I’m 43! Been in love with this woman’s art since I was 14/15
When I hear the angels I know it’s time to lay off the drugs lol

Fucking Brilliant start to finish!
Fucken love the intro. Both this version and the versions with the band that came later are just fantastic.
i love how she compared herself to hendrix at the piano. i have been saying that since day one about her.
