Hello everyone and welcome to Entovibes! Eddie Eichinger here and I love nature! Exploring and spending time outdoors is something I love doing. Entovibes celebrates the natural world with a focus on the insect realm!
I'm a big fan of coleoptera and maintain a small amateur insect collection as one of my hobbies. I get such a thrill planning a collecting trip, researching the species I want to target on my trip, and getting out to location and in the field! So much fun!
Obviously while out in the field, I encounter all types of other wildlife. So, in addition to insect related content, I will also share videos of the other types of flora and fauna I have encountered on My excursions.

Found several today flying up and down the hills on the Atascosa Trail. A great sign seeing them flying around because this is an indicator that numerous other insect species in Southern AZ are soon to emerge! #arizonanature #insectcollecting #insectadventures #coleoptera #beetles

Are you guys breeding M.vogti in captivity?
@@dynastesd8092 So I collected several wild ones for My collection that night. The guy I was collecting with does breed them. His name is Dan Sundberg. I don't have his contact info anymore but, You may be able to contact him via bugguide: bugguide.net/node/view/847502
Ok, thank you for the information on who is breeding M.vogti. This is a species that I would really like to see introduced into the mainstream pet bug hobby here in the US.

@@liamanderson2269 Yeah, I didn't know at first but, a herper ID'ed it for me: Saddled Leaf-nosed Snake. I live in FL, but am working in Arizona. Video was taken at the Canoa Rest Stop.

@@MrPDHobbit insect collectors, such as myself, definitely know that Texas has some very interesting creatures!
@@MrPDHobbit it's just so hard to collect down there. Barbed wire fences everywhere.
@@eddieeichinger I'm originally from CA but ive been living here about 7 or 8 years and I'm always surprised by the variety of animals here
@@MrPDHobbit Texas has multiple different climates and that leads to a large amount of plant/animal diversity! There are multiple species of coleoptera that I'd like to add to My collection that live in Texas!

I believe you’re thinking of the Asian longhorn beetle (Anoplophora glabripennis), which this is not.
@@RomeoHearts ah I see there's a few I just can't remember them all 🤣. To bad stripped ground squirrels arnt invasive were im at ill set up all the traps 🤣🤣🤣. They ate my garden multiple times so ya lol dam squirrels.
@@Dead.garden pretty sure they are not invasive in the US. They have in recent years become established in Florida where they are not normally found.
@@Dead.garden Valid, haha, there are oodles of beetle species. As far as those ground squirrels, I did some surface level research, and it looks like you can trap, kill, or catch and release them if they’re on your property.
@@Dead.garden You could try to build a greenhouse to keep them out, squirrels are very smart.
They look pretty awesome, but i would freak out seeing one in person. Too big, and has bitey parts

@@Eddardstark9308 I believe it! Lumberyards/timber harvesting sites are great places to find cerambycids and buprestids!
What is the slang word we call those ? I love all you guys with the Latin but I’m simply desert 😂 incredibly smart but simple .
It has several common names: Long-jawed Longhorn Beetle or Horsebean Longhorn Beetle to name a few.
Dude, it's like Hitchhiker's Guide and towels, ALWAYS carry collection gear!!

Just a note: it was Dendrobias, then was changed to Trachyderes, and has been changed back to Dendrobias mandibularis.

@@hillbillyartscrafts4367 I am sworn to secrecy on the exact spot, but, I can tell You that it was found in Live Oak County and that Hwy 281 runs through the habitat! You want Mesquite woodland after the Summer rains. Generally late September.
Maybe you can help me identify! I’m in Gold Canyon by the Superstition’s 🌵💚

@@entomologyesquire3870 Thanks very much! I'm going to be doing some collecting in AZ in the next few weeks and hopefully will get some amazing content to share with everyone! Night collecting is so much fun and You will be amazed at the amount of life that is hidden during the day!
@@eddieeichinger I believe it! Here in Michigan we find grapevine beetles, walking stick insects, Katydids and other scarab beetles on people's porches every year, always a treat knocking on a door and finding something you put zero effort into attracting 😅 Which makes me super excited for the prospect of a night hunt, because imagine if I WAS actually trying 😱
@@entomologyesquire3870 Well, if You ever need any tips just ask! I have done a lot of night collecting in various areas from AZ-FL, North to TN!
