A Simple and Easy Tip for Perspective Drawings
Double drawing time! No, seriously, I'm making two drawings in a single video. I'm also here to give you the simplest and easiest tip for drawing in perspective when your canvas is too small for a perspective point. Use a string! It's so simple. Also, good holidays, I don't think I'll be seeing you before the new year.

Drawing and talking about writing for nearly 10 minutes
One thing I sorta hate people saying is that "digital art is cheating" because that's been a big debate on a lot of social media platforms, so it kinda threw me off when you started talking a bit about it. I do both traditional oil painting and digital art, and all digital art is, is another media to work in... Other than that I liked the video.
It's a question of point of view. Of course I don't consider it cheating. I mostly do digital art after all and I wouldn't trash my own practice. When it comes to emulating paint though, a couple brushes could make it look like paint when you're just using a digital tool. It all depends on what you want to achieve. But if you look at my videos, half of them are digital art, so no it's not cheating :) Thanks for checking my stuff out
Really good video! Im praying it will help me.
Thanks
Bonsoir D3 i was crying my eyse out cus i had to make a short film with a frame by frame animation , pendant 4 jours, j’ai lutté pour trouver un moyen de faire le travail sans avoir à apprendre des nouveaus logiciels .i hope this work if it works i will tag u in my post
I hope it works and you manage to make your short film project! This video was made on a now-old version of photoshop, so there might be differences with the new version
loved this video ❤ i just got into learning designing but no idea where to start what would be more benefial from where do i need to start
Thanks for giving my video a watch! I'm not sure where to start with design, but looking around on UA-cam is a good idea
Yeah seems familiar not only growing up in france but also in some animated stuff Not my favorite, not in love with it, but it do really appreciate it very strong vibes
Hey, thanks for checking my stuff out :)
Please, how were you turning the different sides of the book as you were drawing? Thanks.
I just drew the different frames that would correspond to a rotation. If it helps, you can take a video of something turning and then move frame by frame to see what it looks like
Nice bro, I've never tried this in my 5 years of experiance
What astounds me about Moebius are 2 things ... the elegance of his lines and hatchings , the absolutely surreal mastery of colors to create atmospheric moods ... He makes them look so easy yet so appealing, yet with so many later artists trying to use his methods no one can come close to consistently achieving that surreal level of capturing those wonderful atmospheric vibes that he was able to repeatedly achieve through countless gorgeous illustrations ... he is one of those artists that do not need to rely on making things look bombastic to catch the eye, more than that, he captures not just the eye but the heart with seemingly weightless tones and soft gradations ... so many artists use the same method but they don't come close to the magic that he achieves ... you can rest your eyes on just 1 of his illustration without getting tired of it, its that beautiful ....
Good lord, that music is annoying.
Very calm artist 🎉thank you for the story . But try and add some blitz
What is blitz?
@@D3troisVarietyChannel discover it . I enjoyed .
where did you get that brush that you used to erase stuff to make it look like real drawing

The real risk in the picture, is all the trip hazards and awkward access doors! Very nice picture. good luck!
@@MattJoyce01 aha that's true, tripping is the main risk here, although I wouldn't exclude drowning in a vat of bubbly orangey liquid
Very nice concept and execution, wish you luck for the contest. Also if you wanna learn more about the style that Thibault Soreil uses, it’s a style that’s been pioneered and popularized by Jean Giraud aka Mœbius, a French comic artist.
I made a video talking about Moebius, it's one of my most popular. There are slight differences in the theming though (and the process of course)
One day, you might have an abundance of subscribers and fans.
I'd like to, but I'm fine either way :)
you are so underrated whatttt, don't forget me when ur famous pls :DDD
I mean.. thanks
very cool!
Thanks :)
the only issue I have with animation in ps is the program seems to move objects/layers around on their own, leading me to re orient them every time I make a new frame.
Yes this can happen, I don't know why though. It's cool that Ps has the possibility of making animations, but I don't think it's the best program at all to do so
OMG this is awesome. Congrats on entering the contest🎉. The drawing is stunning too I absolutely love it❤. I hope you get the best price possible🍀
Thank you! I have no idea if I will get a price but I know I had fun and learned a lot!
Hey, new follower and I love your content. We have similar attitudes towards Art and the abstract style. In regards to your pen/ruler issue, try a ruler with the cork underside, as these are meant to combat the ink-bleed issue you speak of near the end of the video. Hope that helps, I know it was a boon for me when I found that out!
I'll keep that in mind if I find one of these rulers! Now I mostly use folded paper as a ruler when I'm dealing with runny ink. And thank you very much for the follow :)
That meme a 5 minutes just got me laughing so hard, nice drawing. Good to see that Battle through the Heavens acted like a gateway drug for someone else too.

This is a cool video, but the music is atrocious.
Another thing you could try is to make a recording of your drawings, but then only script/edit them or turn one into a video when the mood strikes you. That way, there is no pressure to put down the pen to start editing the video, but if you are wanting a change you have the footage to work with if you want to switch to scripting or editing. Additionally, you would then have archival footage, which could be fun to look at when you are 80.
On the paper I like that idea, but it wouldn't really work for me. First reason is that footage is really space-heavy (about 10 Go for an hour with both cameras) and hard drives are expensive. In most cases I don't think I'll ever need the original footage ever again so I don't see the point. The second reason is that drawing reflects my feelings and thoughts at a given time, and scripting once I'm done drawing makes more sense so I can keep the same feeling. I do have some drawing footage for later though, as not every art feels that 'special' to me
@@D3troisVarietyChannel That makes sense. I hadn't considered the storage requirements for so much footage. It also makes sense that the narration is more potent when created just after the experience of the drawing. I can imagine the setup being onerous to deal with every time you feel like drawing. I like that you are focusing on doing what keeps you motivated to work on your art. Now kowtowing to the needs of an arbitrary algorithm is a noble moral stance, I think.

I greatly appreciate it! Thank you for the well-wishes. I will make good use of the spreadsheet.
You hit the nail on the head when you said that they work best when you use them for the purpose they were intended for. So a second piece of paper is used for graphite or charcoal drawings. A glove meant for drawing on a Wacom tablet is used for that purpose. Use latex gloves for oil painting or airbrush. It’s not rocket science. But those rules are just guidelines so if you draw with wielding gloves and you like it, use them.
In any case, I don't think skiing mittens are meant for any artistic field :)
i really need help because i do not know what tab you use? please reply to me anyone who knows this

Sometimes when I'm in a slump I'll practice drawing shapes. Squares, circles, triangles, rectangles, ect... It helps with just starting with the basics and moving to more complicated designs. Most things are just basic shapes anyway.
Exactly ! Every pattern stems from simple shapes assembled in a way or another
@@D3troisVarietyChannel Thank you for your reply! I really enjoy your content.
that's a great video, thank you!!
This is really cool, could you share a template of your spreadsheet?
I'll think about it, I'll have to remake quite a few of the cells that I put together on the fly and that probably wouldn't work in a general case. I'll add a pinned comment when I do it :)

Mobius style has become just that- a "style" like DC comics style from the likes of Kirby. No longer is anything ripped off when an artist emulates Mobuis but simply they are taking what has been done and carrying over for the next generations.
I have no idea how you are deciding on what to draw onto the paper its clearly not just random shapes sometimes.
It's hard to say, most of the time it is random. Often, before filming a video I will take a notepad or post-it and scribble a pattern on it. Depending on what it is, I will try to change a thing or two, tweak it, such as the spacing, the width etc. Sometimes a similar pattern with a different pen will give a different result. Most of the time it is just a question of what feels good in the hand and wrist. For this video though I definitely tried to make a map, so it's a bit different, I already knewwhat I wanted. Even though you don't see it in the videos, I almost always make a quick scribble on a sketching pad before I decide if the pattern is worth it. You have no idea how many pages of scribbles that never made it to video I have aha
@@D3troisVarietyChannel hehe. I did notice slight barely visible lines on the paper in the middle of the video. Yeah alright. Thank you.
@RikThunder33 oh yeah I definitely sketched this one first, to make the various neighborhoods and the river outline. I don't sketch the abstract patterns but I almost always sketch when I want to represent something clear. Although I didn't sketch the buildings individually for this one
