Valie Export Society (VES) borrowed its name and numerous performances from the feminist performance and media artist VALIE EXPORT.

Their Touch Cinema refers to EXPORT's Tapp und Tastkino (Tap and Touch Cinema) (1968), which criticised cinema as a realm of male projections.

what does it mean?
Valie Export was a feminist artist during the 70s and always dedicated her art to the movement. This particular performance wants to take to extremes the concept of women being inferior to males in the society's eye, by putting a man (Peter Weibe, who agreed and wanted to be part of this) as a dog and the woman (herself) as the owner. The power dynamics here become the heart of the artwork because they are completely inverted and, with irony, they wanted to create a piece that created an impact to the viewer so much that he would think about that and not just forget it in a short time :)

Romantiline rahvuskonservatism ehk päritolu, kultuuri, keele või religiooni põhine rahvuslus ei välista teatud feminismi voole (liberaalne, radikaalne). Patriarhaalse arusaama liikumine matriarhaalsema poole on seoses negatiivse iibe ja muude sarnaste infokildudega praeguses Eestis pigem tõenäolisem. Sellel puudub tugev ideoloogiline takistus, arvestades just neid füüsilisi protsesse, mis praegu Eestis aset leiavad. Kui on suudetud juba omaks võtta niivõrd antiromantiline ja rahvust hävitav asi nagu neoliberalism (allhanked, madalad maksud, ebavõrdsustumine, Schengen, majandusliku perifeeriastaatuse ideoloogiline omaksvõtt kokkuvõttes), siis peaks feminismi sidumine olema küllaltki lihtne. Romantiline rahvuslus välistab lihtsalt oma vastandi, mis on poliitiline rahvuslus ehk kodakondsus nendele 200 000 inimesele, kellest ligi pooltel pole ühtegi kodakondsust ja teisel poolel Vene Föderatsiooni oma. See probleem muidugi jääb.
