P3Steel CNC Conversion Test

Sorry for the shakiness. Converted my 3d printer into a makeshift cnc router, I use a Arduino Uno with a CNC shield. I made a support for the spindel so it wouldn't flex so much since this machine was never ment for this sort of things. I am running GRBL Panel to controll the router, used HSMWorks to generate g code toolpath.
Homemade RC 1:7 Scale Rally Car Review/Upgrades Video

I updated to a HobbyWing ESC and a sensored Ansmann XIRIUS PRO 8.5T motor, I also installed aluminium dampers all round. I wanted to make the car a little more realistic to a rallycar and I made a racing seat, rally style dashboard, 5 dot seat belt, handbrake, gear shifter and a sparco steering wheel. I drilled a hole in the gear box and made M3 treads so you can fill or change oil easily witho...

    why didn't you just print a CNC machine? www.thingiverse.com/thing:724999

      For that he might need more parts other than just 3d printed parts

    @cold_fox89, so how is this holding up? Does the steel frame hold up to the torquing? Are you able to mill aluminum?

    • @PSNplayer89

      +Wing Wong This CNC configuration was just a one time thing when I needed a custom motor mount for my rc car I was building, It cut aluminium but at a slow feed and low cuts, not something I would want to do again. I have now made a new CNC mill on another P3Steel frame which is far stronger and stiffer, here are some pictures (still need to buy a better spindle). imgur.com/a/gHW5a No electronics in the pictures but I use a Arduino UNO with a CNC shield.

    He has definitely changed the pinion or the spur or most likely both. I got mine yesterday and am going to upgrade both. It is abit faster than my Thunder Tiger EB4 G3 that I sold (both at stock) but the TT was faster with a 20t pinion (mod1) does this take a mod1 too?

    I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings but the video kinda stinks. No offense but, I like the car. If you could make a video actually showing how to make one of them, that would be great dude. Still love your vids and no offense.

      Its a very old video, I have compleatly changed every part of the car (Not the shell of course) from when the video was made. Motor, gearbox, axles, links, drive joints, A-arms, shocks, bearings, ESC, Full aluminium front end, wider wheel flare and many other small things. Will make an video soon how it drives and looks right now.

    • @PSNplayer89
      @PSNplayer89 10 років тому

      Yeah, but the Rally part is that it has a realistic roll cage and lights, and the engine and gear box is in the front and it has a locked rear axle. This is an early video, I have done a LOT of upgrades, 4 link rear axle, full aluminium front steering system + winter tires with 100 nails each. :)

      ***** In the video I drive with 71mm height rally tires, I have searched everywere to find bigger 1/10 tires but couldn't find over 71mm in height.
